And don't forget to help soupsadiiize this great station during our silent fundraiser!
  Mon. 10/14/13 3:10pm BDR:

Richard Thompson's voice has changed and so has Frith's guitar playing on Haisai Ojisan since last I heard it.

Whoa--60s era Girl Group Three Degrees!! They sound amazing, even before their 70s soul peak!

It's positively Monday out there, I can affirm that.

Nothing proves your commitment to Free Love like glockenspiel, drums and horn section!
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 3:38pm YETI BOB:

Yes! Fred Frith's one and only appearance on Top of the Pops! I love this version of this song!
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 3:38pm Matt from Springfield:

Woooo! R Wyatt's cover of "I'm a Believer"!
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 3:41pm Matt from Springfield:

@Yeti Bob Oh wow, did they really perform this on TotP? Sweet!
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 3:45pm tim from champaign:

Howdy Scott and the Williamanics! I don't know any of you personally (except kirk from beer city) but it's good to be amongst like-minded musical friends.

The local rekkid store where I help at occasionally is starting a email newsletter. I listed the Cosmic Psychos re-issue and new Dirtbombs for my picks earlier today. I was then told by other staffers that I shouldn't pick out such esoteric records that are difficult to find. Ugh! Yep, I really dug deep on those picks.
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 3:46pm YETI BOB:

@Matt: yeah, you can find the video pretty easily. Check out the sideburns on Frith! Wyatt's in a wheelchair, which was reportedly controversial at the time - the producers were afraid it would upset people.

Stupendously awesome as per usual!
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 3:51pm kirk from beer city usa:

tim: the record store considers those hard to find? are they assuming readers of their newsletter don't shop at their store?
  Mon. 10/14/13 3:56pm Domenic M:

Great remix on this Cope track....
I still don't know what beautiful love is..but.... I'' take it

I guess so, kirk. I was really confused. It's not like I recommended a Brown Company bootleg cd-r or something or the Scooter and the Worms 7"

Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:07pm Matt from Springfield:

I'm trying out a new sched w/ alternate Mondays off, so I hope this will be a chance to think positive and start the week right--from home! :)
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:08pm DCE:

is that better or worse than chopping your hand off the week before?
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:09pm Matt from Springfield:

But Mr. Blue Sky has returned, which makes me so happy. Last week it was the weather which was so dreary. Always overcast, but I liked watching the heavy drizzle from inside.
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:09pm tim from champaign:

Damn, Scott. Glad to hear your feeling back in the saddle. Sorry to hear about your tribulations.
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:13pm Matt from Springfield:

It would be cool if Scott W came by and delivered all of us flowers. But this way he can deliver music to all of us, without even leaving Studio A!

Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:44pm efd:

I'm still surprised that Lawyers.com hasn't licensed this song and re-purposed it as a jingle. "Lawyers - dot - com."

Hi Scott!

early MTV flashbacks with this one. Such a wonderful time in my life (NOT)!
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:45pm efd:

Admit it Scott, you only like this song because of the frequent whammy bar usage.
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:45pm Matt from Springfield:

Way to show the early 80s Jackson B love! I have at least 1 copy of this LP from my 'rents.
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:45pm hamburger:

all I know of Jackson Browne is that Andy Breckman will mention him to annoy Ken heh
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 4:47pm DCE:

Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 5:04pm northguineahills:

In the other room cleaning, and sort of hear the song, and guessed, that really has to be Matts Gusttafson & Neneh Cherry. I suppose I was mostly right.
Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 5:06pm tim from champaign:

I recently saw on yootoob that Neneh Cherry and the Thing cover Stephanie McDee's "Call The Police" (which Oblivians also recently covered). If you haven't heard it, it's worth seeking out - both the Neneh Cherry and Stephanie McDee versions.

Avatar    Mon. 10/14/13 5:48pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Jackson Browne wrote things on the 'Chelsea Girl' album by Nico...I like him a lot better w/out the smoooth 70s West Coast production - but once again I was not consulted...Odd, because he Produced Warren Zevon, & I like it fine...
