Yeah, I'm glad WFMU has schooled me on the deeper aspects of 70s music. As a teen I listened to the obvious 70s dinosaurs, Bowie, T Rex, Dolls, Lou Reed, Ramones, punk, etc and later I plumbed the depths of post punk. FMU has specifically hepped me to Van Der Graaf Generator, Budgie, Dwight Twilley, Equals, obscurer glam.

@tim 9:54 It's very good. Firstly, listening to NYC radio in the late 60s on, I was exposed to lot of great freeform stuff that just "disappeared" with the increasing suckiness of FM that started in the mid-70s.Secondly, music that I wasn't originally into somehow got better with FMUs "curation". Then of course, there's all the stuff I missed first time 'round.

Quite humurous. The story of a man who goes through life bumbling into one unlucky situation after another. Pretty interesting descriptions of post-colonial Trinidad. I definitely recommend the book. It was written by V.S. Naipal.

Nick, with a few exceptions, this could be considers the Anti-Ken Show. Stangely, that's a great thing on both sides!
Brian , if you have access to PBS.ORG, there was a decent American Masterpiece on Phil Ochs. Thinking of him always saddens me.
