I'm a flour child in flour-coated shoes.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 12:36pm Tony Coulter:

I guess flour children like to get baked.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 12:38pm Uncle Michael:

I prefer Funky Cold Medina, to getting baked...Tone.

Gentle Giant is always welcome in my earses.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:07pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I dip a toe into that early Gentle Giant stuff every few years. Clearly it's time again. Now that this is in my earholes.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:08pm Tony Coulter:

Heya, Rick! Glad to surprise-oblige.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:14pm Tony Coulter:

This here QMS thingee is a rehearsal tape.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:16pm DCE:

doesn't he sound like an odd mixture of P Frampton and S Winwood singing?
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:18pm Tony Coulter:

Kinda! He also sometimes sounds like Johnny Rivers, methinks. (Not here, though.)
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:22pm Tony Coulter:

This track is dedicated to those baked flour children....
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:24pm Carmichael:

I had a thing for Gentle Giant way back when. Utopia, also. I still like me some Dan Hicks. He's a nut case, in a good way.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:25pm Tony Coulter:

His best stuff is tops.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:29pm listener james from westwood:

diggin' the proceedings at the halfway mark, tony!
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:29pm Carmichael:

The Hot Licks' I Scare Myself is a tour d'force.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:33pm pacific standard simon:

It's funny -- the guy who wrote "Get Together" was one of the least loving people you could imagine.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:33pm Tony Coulter:

@ James: Glad to hear it. It'll be all downhill from here.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:34pm Tony Coulter:

Sorry for the crappy mic quality, btw -- I'm still using a tin can and string. One of these days I'll get me a proper setup.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:35pm Rich in Washington:

Sound quality doesn't sound bad to me.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:36pm Rich in Washington:

Are you using high-quality twine now instead of regular string?
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:37pm Rich in Washington:

If you use a #10 can, you get better lower frequency response.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:38pm pacific standard simon:

Sounds more like that heavy monofilament weed whacker line -- good bass.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:39pm Tony Coulter:

Glad it don't sound so bad on your end, Rich. The damn thing is so finicky. I have graduated to twine.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:42pm Tony Coulter:

A yippee hippee, he can be so quippy.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:43pm glenn:

fishing line is better for bass.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:44pm pacific standard simon:

Gotta go now & spill some more flour on my shoes. Have fun, gang!
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:45pm Tony Coulter:

Cherios, PS Simon!
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:46pm Tony Coulter:

I mean, "cheerios"!
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:48pm Tony Coulter:

Isn't this "I'm Just Another Woman" vocalist a man?
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:49pm DCE:

sounds like it! almost sounds like that weird old dude on Family Guy (Mr Herbert)
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:49pm holland oats:

was that what you dj types call a "mashup"?
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 1:51pm Tony Coulter:

Nah, I call it a mash potato throw-up.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 1:58pm holland oats:

this is an extremely enjoyable program today - great to hear good ol' chris knox repeatedly popping up his itty bitty head
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:03pm Tony Coulter:

Be careful not to trip over Chris Knox's head!
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:04pm BEN'S VERTIGO:

Great Tony,
finally got to the Canterbury part of the show - kept havingto reach for my pills during that psychotic punk part of the show!
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:06pm Tony Coulter:

The last set gave you the BEN'S, did it? (Heya!)
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:14pm Tony Coulter:

OK, time to play spot-the-cover: For the win, what tune is Lautrec covering here?
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:15pm Rick from SC:

sounds like a French Blood Sweat & Tears
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:16pm DCE:

Black Sabbath's "Evil Woman"?
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:18pm Tony Coulter:

Crow's "Evil Woman"! Sabbath's track was a cover of that.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:20pm DCE:

aha! that chord sequence translates better than the name.
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:21pm Tony Coulter:

Please accept this fine prize: your very own mashed potato.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:24pm DCE:

I'll be glad to. Hopefully next week's prize will be some mushroom gravy!
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:34pm northguineahills:

Got back from work crap for the last 30 minutes!
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:35pm Tony Coulter:

Welcome back, my friend, to the show that ... ends in 25 minutes.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:36pm DCE:

Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:43pm Tony Coulter:

Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:44pm DCE:

  Tue. 9/10/13 2:46pm John Tabacco:

Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:46pm Tony Coulter:

Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:52pm Rich in Washington:

TOny, have you heard the new Black Sabbath?
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:52pm Tony Coulter:

Nope, haven't. Any good?
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:52pm DCE:

I've heard bits and pieces on various metal shows on my local channel...I haven't run out and bought it but I have to say it does sound pretty good
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:53pm DCE:

production is a lot different than the old days, that's for sure...Ozzy's voice is hanging in there but getting more thick and syrupy every day...
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:54pm DCE:

is there a traktor in the house??
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:55pm glenn:

i wonder if ole uriah had prostate issues?
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:55pm Rich in Washington:

It's a Rick Rubin production, so it sounds like an amalgam of every good bit of old Sabbath albums.
Also, rreally compressed for loudness, but I don't remember ever being blown away by the fidelity of any previous Sabbath album.
Avatar    Tue. 9/10/13 2:57pm listener james from westwood:

thanks a ton, tony! later, all!!
Avatar Tue. 9/10/13 2:57pm Tony Coulter:
