Avatar 12:10pm glenn:

what time will you be playing the neil young jam, joe?
  12:10pm John L.:

Ribeye Brothers are one of the best bands I got turned on to at Maxwell's. I can't remember who they opened for, but I bought each title from their merch table. Still have to get the new one. Sounds great.
Avatar 12:10pm SmokinJ:

Wow! Glad that weekend's over.... Hi Joe!
Avatar 12:11pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Avatar 12:18pm Joe B:

John, Ribeyes is on vinyl as well, not sure if Main Man did it or they did it on their own but they had it at the show last Friday
Avatar 12:19pm Joe B:

Avatar 12:20pm Joe B:

Avatar 12:23pm glenn:

  12:28pm John L.:

Joe, did you read the Barrett Strong article in the NY Times this weekend?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm pacific standard simon:

Well... the Flying Lizards version is something you really have to be in he right frame of mind for.
Avatar 12:29pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

pss: It's a departure but I always liked it!
Avatar 12:30pm glenn:

naw. john lee hooker's version of money is the greatest by far.
Avatar 12:31pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Beatles, Stones - Sonics! - all great...
Avatar 12:35pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...Hooker of course is like Cash - the definition of a convincing artist w/ authority...
  12:37pm efd:

I hope the drummer from the Moviees remembers his sticks this time.
Avatar 12:38pm KP:

Like the Moviees, very Who-ee.
Avatar 12:39pm Joe B:

  12:42pm efd:

Oh, whoops! My apologies to the Moviees, please don't sue me for libel.

Govern yourself accordingly, Mr Funk.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 12:44pm Matt F:

Other great versions of Money: the Kingsmen, Tami Lynn, Clifton Chenier, Thee Midnighters- but my favorite- by far- is Jerry Lee Lewis's version on the Live at the Star Club record.

re: "Money"
I can't rave enough about version by Kenny & the Kasuals on the "Live at the Studio Club" LP. Really, my favorite version!
Avatar 1:14pm SmokinJ:

Great track..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:22pm pacific standard simon:

It would have to be set up with Kenzo in advance, but, for every star you clicked during one episode of Seven Second Delay, one dollar could be pledged to FMU in Andy Breckman's name.
Avatar 1:23pm glenn:

ummm. do andy and ken even have clicky stars?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm pacific standard simon:

No, man, if would be system-wide on FMU. So you couldn't tell anybody you were going to do this in advance, or someone would write a program to click every damn star in the database.
  1:40pm Tornado:

The Kid Congo cut is pretty cool but can't help but hear The Who's Boris the Spider riff. But considering the performance, can be overlooked. Good band, regardless.
Avatar 1:44pm MissV:

Holla!
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:47pm tim from champaign:

Hey Joe and the Montes. Stoked to see that the Blind Shake will be back on the air.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 1:52pm Mike Sin:

re: Bare Wires
That album was one of my faves from 2012. So good.
Avatar 1:57pm Joe B:

Hi Tim! Hi Mike! yes, love this LP. too bad they are no more but on the plus side we got Warm Soda out of the deal so not a total loss.
Avatar 1:58pm Sem Chumbo:

Hey, Sloan! Saw them here (Halifax, Nova Scotia) very early on in their career. Thx, Joe!
Avatar 1:59pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...'Set in Motion' - like RayDavies producing the Raspberries ? - or vice-versa...

I'm on the Flash pop-up and no problems. And believe me, if there were any, this puter would be having them.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:31pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Getting a few seconds of stream then lotta seconds of nothing.
  2:32pm Toddophonic:

The People's Champ is in fine form!
Avatar 2:33pm KP:

My itunes jumped to jazz! No luck with alternatives so far.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:35pm Mike East:

Avatar 2:36pm KP:

OK, Mark Sultan still sounds cool on 34K Real Player.
Avatar 2:36pm Cheri Pi:

Sultanic Verses get heavy play at CP/HQ
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:36pm Mike East:

Avatar 🎸 2:38pm Parq:

Kevin, Mike, try refreshing (bring the Flash window to the top and Control/Command-R).
Avatar 🎸 2:39pm Parq:

By the way, Mike, I sometimes have that problem with the GDS stream.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:39pm KevinfromBayRidge:

I restarted the PC & All seems bettah! Whew!
Avatar 2:40pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...I've had the GDS go to Jazz...
Avatar 2:42pm Jeff:

I'm listening to the pop-up... no problems for me so far, but maybe that's what happens when the car's in front of the mechanic.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:42pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Little F-ups like this makes me 'preciate FMU streams that much more!!
Avatar 2:43pm Joe B:

I passed word on to the higher ups, they are looking into it. thanks, bear with us!
Avatar 2:45pm Joe B:

thanks Jeff
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:46pm KevinfromBayRidge:

Ditto...ditto...ditto...
Avatar 2:46pm Jeff:

@Parq et al: there's a known issue on the drummer stream where the pop-up player can get befuddled after the transition from a live DJ to the jukebox, or vice versa. We're trying to figure out a fix, but in the meantime, if you kill and restart a confused pop-up player it seems to sync back up again fine.
Avatar 2:52pm KP:

Anybody ever hear a parody of People Who Died? A friend did, said it was awesome.
Avatar 2:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- great cover.
...I wanna hear KP!
Avatar 2:54pm KP:

I never heard it myself.
Avatar 🎸 2:54pm Parq:

Jeff, yes, I've noticed that and gotten used to it. I'm talking about the pop up player dropping out in mid stream, Happens once in a great while on the air-stream but happens a lot on the Drummer stream.
Avatar 🎸 Swag For Life Member 2:55pm tim from champaign:

@KP, a friend who did not die, had a record in the late 90s spoofing People Who Died called All My Friends Are James Brown. Can't remember the band anymore. We got some yukks out of it though.
Avatar 3:00pm KP:

Tim sounds good!
Avatar 3:00pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

  3:04pm Dave in vermont:

is it april fools day?
  7:08am cal zone!:

The Moviees hailed from Rockin Rochester NY, and had an excellent live show. The drummer would sometimes use flare sticks rather than trad wooden drum sticks and shoot fireballs at the percussion critics in the audience!
