  Sun. 8/25/13 3:34am map:

I spent the entire year in a hot air balloon.

I did busted out some of the old vsnares the other day. Higgins is quite good.

Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 3:40am Eyepatch Fox:

2003: I was living in Borough Park, was working at a gaming center, and was Spike (from Buffy) for Halloween.

  Sun. 8/25/13 3:52am kiemzi:

in 2003 some friends found a tiny puppy who could fit in the palm of your hand in a bar called Soda. now my favorite dog-pal, Soda the Dog is a giant hellhound/cuddle-monster who just had his 10th bday on the 4th of july

I was finding out the house I was trying to buy was a deathtrap and sleeping 4 hours a night, trying to figure out where to live.
  Sun. 8/25/13 4:08am kiemzi:

here's a rhyme for 2003: see!

as in: what'd you see in 2003? or who? what shows was everyone going to?
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 4:09am Chris M.:

@kiemzi: winner!
  Sun. 8/25/13 4:11am kiemzi:

congolia: is 4 hours a night a lot or a little? KIDDING

did you buy the deathrtrap?
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 4:12am Congolia:

No. We pulled our bid and found this place the next day.
  Sun. 8/25/13 4:13am kiemzi:

Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 4:13am Congolia:

  Sun. 8/25/13 4:19am KP:

Oh, jeez. Elliot Smith.
  Sun. 8/25/13 4:22am KP:

"Thursday is a band from New Brunswick and is led by the promoter's nephew."
  Sun. 8/25/13 4:27am kiemzi:

i missed Eliot Smith's set, i forget why but then he died only a few months after
  Sun. 8/25/13 4:30am kiemzi:

man this gorgoroth really brings me back! song of the summer!
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 4:32am Chris M.:

i think that was right around the time Gorgoroth was using animal blood and crucifying people on stage but before Gaahl electro-tortured a guy's private parts in his home.
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 4:32am Eyepatch Fox:

Asking my fellow to explain the gazillionth time difference between black metal and death metal and he got as far as "Quorthon" before I burst into laughter.
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 4:34am Chris M.:

@Eyepatch Fox: they're musically completely different but basically one is about satan and the other is about zombies.
  Sun. 8/25/13 4:34am KP:

You went to this! I missed that part. I do remember Beastie Boys playing Giants Stadium but that's it. Sorry to say not a fan except for Cookie Puss, which takes me back to New Afternoon Show, WNYU.
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 4:39am Congolia:

I saw Elliot Smith at a Tower Records in-store. I saw him walk out from the back, then he sat down and it was too crowded to actually see him play. He played 20 minutes, then I saw him as he left. Eventually, he died.
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 4:40am Eyepatch Fox:

Eventually, so do we all.
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 4:44am Chris M.:

not me, man. i'm gonna live until 2003!
  Sun. 8/25/13 5:06am kiemzi:

apparently these were the top hits of '03

Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 5:06am Congolia:

BTW, Chris, I finally installed my new pickups. They sound great. I think I might have some grounding issues, though.
  Sun. 8/25/13 5:07am kiemzi:

here were WFMU's top hits from this week 10 years ago:

Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 5:07am Congolia:

I dont think I've heard any of those songs
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 5:07am Chris M.:

@congolia: excellent! what's the problem with the grounding?
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 5:09am Chris M.:

sorry i won't have time to get to Sargeist this show because i'm playing In Da Club
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 5:11am Congolia:

Not sure. Most of the hum goes away when I touch strings. but I get a crackling sound when I rub my hand across strings
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 5:14am Chris M.:

@Congolia: well, you're going to have more hum from p90s but hum can also come from nearby electronic things. some people say shielding the inside of the body helps. not sure what the crackling is but have you tried other electrical outlets for your amp?
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 5:16am Congolia:

I have not. Good idea. Thanks
  Sun. 8/25/13 5:35am Marmalade Kitty:

This sounds very live! like they are playing in my living room!?
Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 5:41am Chris M.:

wow, are they?~!
  Sun. 8/25/13 5:41am Marmalade Kitty:

I can't see them..?
  Sun. 8/25/13 5:57am Marmalade Kitty:

Avatar Sun. 8/25/13 5:58am Congolia:

  Sun. 8/25/13 5:59am Chris M.:
