A live, improvised sound collage experiment, going back 22 years, weaving mesmerizing new soundscapes from found and collected materials right in the present moment. Pop music, speeches, live phone calls and spontaneous monologues become ambient loopy layered threads riding the liminal spaces between waking and dreaming. (Visit homepage.)

This kind of traditional market is fast disappearing in parts of the UK, being replaced with "shops outdoors". I found the woman calling "Come on help yourself where you like - you can't do that everywhere" intriguing. She was referring to customers selecting their own fruit and vegetables from the stall, rather than being given what they were given. This market is a mix of more traditional produce stalls (fruit, vegetables, herbs, meat, etc) and guys selling mobile phones, software, CDs and so on.  * ***   1:47:43 (MP3 | )

- because Ganja is Prohibited in U.S. it can't be researched - but in Israel they have found that it has chemicals like the natural ones in the brain that help us forget. Big surprise, sure - but some people can't forget - a disorder - every ugly face on the subway...PTSD is a sort-of inability to Forget. It also struck me as key to the nature of the Psychedelic Experience: Not best for memorizing something new - but good for a clean slate creatively - & for stepping right out of yourself - forgetting yourSelf - & seeing things from two feet to one side, as it were...
- But yes - how do we remember not to forget what we know everyone should really remember...& then you die (?)...

@kat330, yes, while listening to FMU. Rarely, something seriously cosmic will materialize and send me on a crazy trip.
Avatar Wed. 7/31/13 2:43pm kat330:

@Ike: I'd think you might have had such while hiking, too. I had some wonderful, mystical experiences in Yosemite, for e.g.
Avatar Swag For Life Member Wed. 7/31/13 2:43pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- sure, Meditation - but only after taking LSD. Prob. got close to it in remote youth - just from reading about it & contemplation. For example - read Huxley (& say, Jung) before taking Psychedelics - 'Cosmic Consciousness' by Richard M. Bucke I think
...but all of this - drugs included - so very long ago. (Bucke makes correlation w/ Youthfulness in most cases.)
- Now - in mid-life in 21st Century - it's just what Huxley laid out in 'Heaven & Hell'. I just wanna be HomerSimpson - work (well, I must - Stimulants), come home, get naked, Forget/ - anaesthetize...

- Ritual & Ceremonial Magick seem to be mostly about changing one's Consciousness thru Focus & *something* like Trance
- by which I do not mean to negate it: I just refer to Jung saying Archetypes are Living as well as Archaic, & leave it @ that...
- Watts had to Work & Drank as well...
Avatar Wed. 7/31/13 2:55pm kat330:

And then there's the blissful moment when it washes over you, unbidden and beautiful. "Have you ever been experienced?" "Beautiful."

I'm not sure, but I'm tending toward thinking The Sinking of the Titanic might be the best music ever recorded, in part because of what Kenzo did with it
Avatar Tue. 8/6/13 1:22pm fred:

Kenzo, you devil, this is a worthwhile challenge.
Avatar Tue. 8/6/13 2:10pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

What is the challenge?
Avatar Tue. 8/6/13 5:39pm fred:

The one-minute vacation clips were even more awesome when put in the context of the full show. I miss seeing you live, it's amazing that you can do *this* without the comfort of an edit.... I saw you do it though, but once isn't enough to believe it
Avatar Tue. 8/6/13 6:27pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Well, that's what I hoped you meant. Yeah, it's kind of impossible what I'm doing. And I keep being reminded that almost nobody believes it. Someone asked to sit in on my show last week and watch. So at least he believes it now.

In fact, I don't believe it. I video the process so I can go back and watch if I ever doubt.
