I wanna see that, Cecile! May have to wait for dvd, though.
Avatar 4:16pm

that's terrible.
Avatar 4:17pm

Mike East, that might be better because there might be minion short films on the DVD!
  4:21pm
rachael:

There's an interview in the Brooklyn Rail with Peter Kubelka and his thoughts about film. My favorite quote is "... film will not be a mass medium anymore That will happen and that's not my concern, because I'm not the entertainer for the masses".
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:22pm
Mike East:

@Cecile - I'm gonna rent the first one next week, I think. Still haven't seen it. My daughter liked it, though. We watched Rise of the Guardians last week and now she wants me to get The Croods.
  4:23pm
rachael:

Has anyone seen "Museum Hours?"
Avatar 4:26pm
Cecile:

Rise of the Guardians was pretty good. It looked gorgeous. I think it would have been a better story w/o Jack Frost - Santa and the Easter Bunny had incredible worlds, and you could have made a whole movie about them. That's what happens when you get Guillermo Del Toro involved
Avatar 🎸 4:27pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

speaking of worlds -- Gilliam's latest (zero theorem) is nearly out, innit?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm
tim from champaign:

Anyone seen The Conjuring? Is it any good?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:29pm

I agree, Cecile. I would have like to have seen the Sandman's world...he was my favorite.

What the jackson 5; does the clicky star go to Axolotl?
Avatar 🎸 4:41pm

I don't dole out the clicky-stars lightly. This is a perilous and awesome assignment of deep-friggin' honor.

I actually heard a human being refer to another human being as "home slice" today. I nearly jumped out of my own mouth to kill everyone with fire.
  4:57pm

what does it mean?
  4:59pm
dave:

home slice?
Avatar 🎸 5:01pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:

I have no idea. Some kind of terribly out-dated (by at least 15 years) exaggeration of hipness that never made sense in the first place.
Avatar 🎸 5:02pm
Rev. Turnip Druid:
