howdy, amanda, and all scenario panelists!
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 11:56am Amanda:

Hi there, listener James! And a pre-welcome to all others.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 11:59am Uncle Michael:

What's my line?
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:00pm listener james from westwood:

the line to go down the water slide sounds like a good line to be in right now!
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:01pm pacific standard simon:

@UM - "To be, or..."
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:01pm Rich in Washington:

Hello, Amanda, Scenarians!
Looking forward to the show.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:03pm pacific standard simon:

Oh dear god, I had to listen to that horrible "Sweet Caroline" performed by the man himself at the All-Star Game last night.
Wed. 7/17/13 12:04pm Bazooka Joe The Son Of The Black Gladiator:

cuz i'm so smooth!
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:06pm Uncle Michael:

You were there, Simon? So you didn't have to listen to Buck & McCarver? You win.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:06pm Amanda:

The steel drum version MAY be better than the original
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:06pm Rich in Washington:

I never would've thought a Chamber Bros. song would transition well into a Big Black song.
Smooth, Amanda!
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:07pm Carmichael:

OK, a little late. But Hi Amanda and Nazarenes. 1st time listening live in a while.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:07pm pacific standard simon:

I was not there. My sentence structure sux.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:08pm Rich in Washington:

@Carmichael: I know whatcha mean. My new work duties make listening to shows rather challenging.
Wednesdays are pretty damn solid in terms of awesome shows now.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:09pm Amanda:

To congratulate someone on his or her segue is to do a very great kindness indeed. Thanks Rich! And hi, everyone who is representing.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:15pm Brian in UK:

Starboard lookout here reporting for duty.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:17pm listener james from westwood:

i like "sweet caroline" in its original-recording and steel-drum forms, but the "so good" chant that has somehow grown within it should be excised like a tumor.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:21pm pacific standard simon:

Also, Diamond's voice is starting to sound like that of Doodles Weaver.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:25pm Matt F:

We had the game on with the sound off at work last night and Neil's little dance looked totally weird without the context of the audio.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:25pm glenn:

amanda is to segues as mariano rivera is to saves.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:32pm Amanda:

Aw shucks. (I think)
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:32pm Uncle Michael:

The Visitors is sadly under appreciated.

See you all again shortly.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:33pm Brian in UK:

Swedes on the starboard bow.
Amanda you are a DJ so you can say DJ things.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:34pm Amanda:

I suppose EVERYTHING I say is a DJ thing...
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:36pm glenn:

unless you're doing the dogwalker thing - "heel. bad listener!"
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:40pm pacific standard simon:

Some of the things you says is writer things.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:44pm Amanda:

I don't mind confessing here that I often sing to the dogs.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:48pm pacific standard simon:

This morning I woke up, looked at my pooch at the foot of the bed, and started singing, "Sweeeeet dog o'mine -- ba ba ba..."
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:48pm Brian in UK:

Nice one, Amanda. Doing a Meaghan.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:49pm Carmichael:

Pitfall gets a clicky star. I normally sing nonsensical rap lyrics to my dog; he seems to enjoy it.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:50pm Brian in UK:

Lots of people talk in silly voices to their dawgs.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:52pm Brian in UK:

It is thundering away off, just waiting for some cooling rain to fall.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:55pm pacific standard simon:

That's a great feeling, Brian, as long as you know that the cooling rain WILL fall.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:56pm Doug Schulkind:

No problems here on Deer Isle! Heading out to Isle au Haut mañana! Greetings Amanda!
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 12:58pm Amanda:

Hi Doug! I can't wait to go there too. Hope the weather is nice for you.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:58pm Brian in UK:

@simon you are right this could be a big tease. I got in the car at one o'clock and the temp read 40c.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 12:58pm listener james from westwood:

i envy your impending storm, brian. it's unrelentingly hot in northern nj right now.
greetings, doug!
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 1:00pm Doug Schulkind:

The weather is — especially in contrast to heatmageddon in NYC, etc— spectacular.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:01pm Brian in UK:

Doug nothing personal but go catch a lobster my friend.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:03pm Carmichael:

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood out here. 85F and breezy.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:04pm pacific standard simon:

It's even hot and humid in WA -- I was hitting the liquid refreshments so hard yesterday I had to switch to black cherry soda to avoid premature drunkenness.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:06pm Uncle Michael:

I had to cut the grass before it melted this morning.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:07pm Uncle Michael:

Am I supposed to be hearing lovely piano jazz?
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:08pm ndbob:

afternoon Amanda and everyone!
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:09pm ndbob:

hot here in North Dakota - 95 yesterday about 90 today - but less humid then the east coast
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:10pm listener james from westwood:

i'd take 90 without the humidity we have. there are books waiting for me at the library but they can wait until tomorrow just before closing at 9 pm when it'll be less nightmarish out.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 1:10pm Amanda:

Anyone else having stream problems? If so, I am sorry... nothing I can do
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:11pm ndbob:

I'm hearing jazz
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:11pm listener james from westwood:

no stream probs on my end thus far
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:11pm Carmichael:

Nope, all is well in these speakers.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:12pm pacific standard simon:

The stream is flowing here. Sometimes you just have to close your listening thingy and re-open it.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:12pm Brian in UK:

No problems remarkably trouble-free.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:13pm ndbob:

Hearing Heart over here.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:17pm Uncle Michael:

I get no audio on the popup at all.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 1:18pm Doug Schulkind:

Amanda, you need to reconnect. The stream has reverted to the queue.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:18pm Uncle Michael:

Somebody crossed the streams.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:18pm Carmichael:

I have the 128k stream going. Been fine all show long.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 1:19pm Amanda:

Just disconnected and reconnected.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:19pm pacific standard simon:

The stream is just fine here -- I'm getting just what the playlist says.
  Wed. 7/17/13 1:19pm kw:

This is Jesse Sykes - sounds like the continuous GTDR stream
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:19pm ndbob:

Well, I was until you did that.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:20pm Carmichael:

I'm now hearing something other than Glen Campbell.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 1:20pm Matt F:

Went to the stream for a minute but back to Glen Campbell now.

Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:33pm Uncle Michael:

You're welcome, Amanda.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:36pm ndbob:

:)
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:38pm Uncle Michael:

These guys were so hip, they went country before Darius Rucker even thought of it.
  Wed. 7/17/13 1:44pm kw:

Sounds like Michael Shelley - very cool!
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:46pm ndbob:

Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 1:46pm efd:

yeah, here too I'm afraid. :(
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:46pm Uncle Michael:

Issues again?
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 1:46pm Stevel:

Its quiet. Too quiet.
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 1:47pm efd:

oh there you are!
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:47pm pacific standard simon:

Continuing the rock documentary vein from previous Drummer shows: I watched a doc about Cream's Disraeli Gears last night, in which it was explained that the lyricist for "Tales of Brave Ulysses" threw together a bunch of psychedelic impressionism based on the rhythms of Judy Collins' version of Leonard Cohen's "Suzanne". IT ALL SEEMS SO OBVIOUS NOW.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:48pm Uncle Michael:

I'm a bad man. I'm remoted in to a computer at my house, from work...working on Friday's show.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:48pm pacific standard simon:

:D
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:48pm Uncle Michael:

(slaps forehead)
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:49pm ndbob:

wow Simon
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:51pm pacific standard simon:

Now, of course, I want to hear Kenzo mix those two songs together on his show.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:57pm ndbob:

excellent show Amanda!
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 1:58pm pacific standard simon:

Au revoir, Amanda.
Avatar    Wed. 7/17/13 2:00pm pacific standard simon:

He better not sing!
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 2:01pm Amanda:

I know, I will @#$(^ kill him
Avatar Wed. 7/17/13 2:02pm Amanda:

Bye, everyone! Take care of yourselves, and each other.
Avatar    Wed. 7/24/13 3:04am Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Wow, I hadn't heard that "All" song since...1995! Amazing flashback, remembering every word but not knowing why. Yes, now I have to mix it together with something.
