Diane, Thanks for the Doug Evans interview last week. I couldn't listen live so I caught it on the archives. What a cool guy. Great segment for sure!

Good CRAP what a great opening set!
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:21pm Cheri Pi:

heya DK! Zero Boys play here Friday, but I'm going to see a doom show instead.
  Thu. 7/11/13 12:27pm berlusconi's nose:

So far sounds good in Beijing! Not at work and no 4th of July but sounds Awesome!
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:30pm coe:

As DK says it was a pretty cool experience when I saw them a few years ago for experience reasons. If Joe Retta is still singing he's got some great stories under his belt. Seems he was at one time being considered for a position in the Dio Disciples.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:31pm Luna:

hola..."doom show"...do tell
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:33pm Cheri Pi:

Hmmmm The Michigan Wisconsin schism, I bet they could tell some stories. @Luna I'm going to see Beneath Oblivian w/ Fister on Fri.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:34pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

'afternoon chippies.
THIS [eternal rest] is just about right.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:35pm Cheri Pi:

Pappy Turnip! What it is??
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:36pm InBrkly:

I'm trying to think of some good questions for LL.

Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:36pm Ken From Hyde Park:

A couple of recent Michigan items: Some Ohio State sports fan had a cancerous tumor and he named it Michigan and the tumor went away (I assume he had some medicine that helped get that tumor). And some joker who said he was from Michigan was adding inane comments to Meghan's show this morning.

I remember some funny columns LL published in MRR. I'm surprised MRR is still around so many years now after Tim Yo's passing.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:40pm Sean D. Daily:

So... you guys like Voivod, I'm guessing?
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:40pm Diane Kamikaze:

@coe: Joe Retta not singing. Seemed like someone new - who reminded me of a cross between Coverdale and John Sykes...and was from NJ. I don't know his name but he sang with Bonham for some time AND in my brother's cover band in the 70's: Middle Earth... aaaak! I have to say since we're all "friends" here.. :) I hated the drummer for the Sweet. He was speeding up and slowing down and it drove me out of my mind. Their meter was a tad bit off for every song. The singer was good, but had a music stand and was reading lyrics for every song. Obviously a new acquisition. Their harmonies were good, not much in the way of band togetherness, but that drummer was on his own, never checked in with anyone in the band.. ugh. But they really were OK... and yeah, just OK. OK! :)
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:43pm Jim Devoid:

old Neurosis!

Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:54pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:55pm Luna:

Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:56pm Jim Devoid:

This is what I like about this show: hearing Artificial Peace back to back with the Scorpions!
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 12:59pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Many times what Devoid said.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 1:03pm coe:

That's a shame to hear as when I saw them they seemed to have it pretty together I wonder if Steve cleaned house. Not as bummed I missed it now.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 1:04pm InBrkly:

eh people want to belong to something exclusive.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 1:05pm coe:

it's one of the reasons that something like Masons exists

Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 1:25pm InBrkly:

Gilman was no stranger to violence. Somebody wrecked Jello Biafra's knee there. But I can't really think of many incidents.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 1:31pm InBrkly:

That is maybe explained by the subsequent popularity of Rancid.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 1:35pm coe:

1995 I was working for a major record store when Out Come the Wolves/Ruby Soho we would play Op Ivy in the store in the mall. We would be doing double digit special orders of Op Ivy every week as our store ownership didn't see a reason to stock it even though we begged them to.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 1:44pm InBrkly:

I guess AT/Mordam was having their own problems around then so it wouldn't have made sense to approach them.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 1:56pm ᏠЄႶႶỊѺµЄ:

I'm from California (San Jose) and I love this song.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 1:58pm tim from champaign:

There is a movie "Louder Than Love" about the Grande Ballroom.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 2:01pm coe:

What's with the new call letters?
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 2:03pm Detroit Mac:

coe: they are the different broadcast stations now on the air in different locations.

Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 2:18pm coe:

Larry would you consider doing the label thing again?
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 2:20pm tim from champaign:

Nuisance were my favorite band on Lookout records. They were a great live band.
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 2:44pm coe:

Can you ask Larry a joke question for me. When the Downfall album is coming out?
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 2:45pm coe:

Green Day bootleg from WFMU
Avatar Thu. 7/11/13 2:53pm coe:
