That magic WiFi hotspot has returned to my bedroom and I'm able to listen live again. Good to hear the show, Julie.

OMFG, it's MORNING.
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 3:23am Julie:

For me it's night, but for a lot of listeners, it's morning :)
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 3:24am G:

3:22 qualifies as morning. I had to get up at 3am to do paper grading before a class one day a week once.
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 3:24am Julie:

I've just put in one of those 3-inch cd's, not sure how those work, here's hoping! It had an adapter to put around it
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 3:25am C.S.:

Morning doesn't start until the first light makes the sky a dull blue and the birds start chirping like crazy.
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 3:26am G:

In the UK, this is morning drive :)
  Thu. 6/27/13 3:28am Marmalade Kitty:

morning bike!
  Thu. 6/27/13 3:31am Laurie:

Hey Julie! Headed to bed, but noticed you were on the air and wanted to drop you a line. Hope you have a great show tonight.---er---morning. Not ready for morning yet. For some reason I'm thinking of The Moody Blues Days of Future Passed. That's a fab album. Haven't listened to that in ages. Will leave you with an appropriate quote from "Late Lament" on the album: Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.
Bedsitter people look back and lament,
Another day's useless energy spent.
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one,
Lonely man cries for love and has none.
New mother picks up and suckles her son,
Senior citizens wish they were young.
Cold hearted orb that rules the night,
Removes the colours from our sight.
Red is grey and yellow white.
But we decide which is right.
And which is an illusion???.
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 3:32am BadGuyZero:

How long have you had that 3-inch CD? I haven't seen those since the early 90s. I had a Wire single and a Devo single on 3-inch CD. I found this set of Spongebob Squarepants-themed CD-Rs several years ago that had 3-inch discs.
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 3:32am Julie:

Wow Laurie, verbose tonight. And hi! @BGZ it's the stations, dated 1988
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 3:33am Mary Wing:

I am impressing myself with how quickly I could name this tune and "Down In The Park", heh.
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 3:33am Julie:

I do have a Kinks one..somewhere
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 3:34am BadGuyZero:

I guess I haven't noticed that part of the music library the couple of times I've been in there. *hee!*
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 3:34am Julie:

No fair Mary, those are hits!

Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 3:36am Julie:

The 3-inch is playing! yay!
  Thu. 6/27/13 3:37am Laurie:

Wow. Haven't heard Berlin in ages. Reminds me of being in High School. I hated High School. LOL Cool bands like this, and my BFF, Dave, were the only saving grace in that wretched place. Dave loved New Wave and Punk. Psychedelic Furs, OMD, New Order, Echo and the Bunnymen, etc.
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 3:37am Julie:

All great bands, Laurie! OMD have a new album out
  Thu. 6/27/13 3:39am Laurie:

Really? Need to look that up. Now, Avalon from Roxy Music just popped into my head.
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 3:40am Julie:

Laurie, stop hearing your own songs ;)
  Thu. 6/27/13 3:41am Laurie:

Well, I hear voices, so why not songs?
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 3:42am Julie:

  Thu. 6/27/13 3:46am Laurie:

Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 4:26am C.S.:

Amazing the tunes one hears on this show. Interesting cover!
  Thu. 6/27/13 4:28am Meghan.:

I had a Bryan Ferry 3" cd! No adapter for it. The tray kinda fit it, but I remember being nervous it would get stuck
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 4:28am Julie:

And here's another strange cover
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 4:29am Julie:

Morning, Meghan!

Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 4:49am C.S.:

A little piece of me dies when I hear this song. Great band, The Lost Patrol.
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 4:51am Julie:

Is that a good thing?
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 4:52am C.S.:

Acousto-electro cover, interesting sound!
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 5:14am Matt from Springfield:

@CS: Sometimes I've seen comments after the show, where someone from an obscure band Julie has played has thanked her for playing them. That's always cool to see.
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 5:16am Matt from Springfield:

And thanks to Laurie, for integrating the text of the MBs "Late Lament" into the show--someone had to do it! ;)
  Thu. 6/27/13 5:17am Marmalade Kitty:

If Floyd had a £ for every time a street musician played that song, they would be the wealthiest band ever.. wait, they are?
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 5:19am C.S.:

@Matt That is cool. I'm always amazed at the bands Julie plays. She knows a lot about music.
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 5:25am Matt from Springfield:

@CS: 4 Sure!

@Kitty: If "Pink Floyd" could be the wealthiest band ever -- it's divided 5 ways because no one can agree on who holds the name or get back together! Also †Syd, †Richard.
  Thu. 6/27/13 5:25am Marmalade Kitty:

favourite'd this!
Avatar Thu. 6/27/13 5:26am Matt from Springfield:

Me too MK! I think Julie's played from Belgian Cold Wave before, a little different from French coldwave!
Avatar    Thu. 6/27/13 5:28am Julie:

Glad you guys liked it, almost made the end of show cut on that one!

Hello folks, thanks for the kind words about The Lost Patrol. TLP have been around WFMU since the early demos being played on Bob Brainen's show in around 2000. Thanks, Julie for the spin of Colours! Hope to get the band on the show at some point! Band has put out 4 CDs from 2008 to now! Cheers, Ed C./manager
