Would you believe that I quit my job because I missed you so much? No?
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 12:10pm Amanda:

I don't believe it, but it's nice of you to suggest.

Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 12:26pm pacific standard simon:

Actually, I quit because they lied to me about the crippling level of built-in overtime, but I did miss the noon (Eastern) GTDR line-up terribly.
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 12:33pm Doug Schulkind:

Beginning next Wednesday, Amanda will have a radio sibling! The mighty KENZO will bring his fabulous radio/sound collage/experiment "Ken's Last Radio Extravaganza" program (lastever.org) to the Drummer Stream.

The show will be simulcast with WTJU at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. Kenzo's show will air 2-4pm on Wednesdays and will feature untold gobs of unexpected and marvelous mayhem. And maybe even live phone-ins, too.

More info will be sent out early next week. If you're not on the stream's mailing list and would like to be, just send a request to:

@Doug: That's fantastic news! I've been a huge fan of KLRE form many, many years.
I cannot wait!
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 12:36pm Rich in Washington:

Now Ken's shows have extra, extra vaganza.
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 12:37pm northguineahills:

Looks awesome, I don't believe I've had the pleasure to hear Kenzo on the bridge of the mother ship.
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 12:37pm Doug Schulkind:

The plan to have Kenzo on the Drummer Stream has been in the works for over two years. Me = dreamy/swoony
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 12:38pm Gary:

@Doug: awesome!
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 12:40pm Rich in Washington:

@Doug. Ditto, that. Kenzo's elevated the live collage thing into quite the skullbuggery artform. I daresay he's had a huge influence on my own radio makin'.
I am atwitter with anticipation...

Kenzo dryish run the other day. Cool move Doug.

Fuck Des O'Connor. Pardon me.
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 1:08pm Brian in UK:

How about rib tickler, Amanda? Are you tickerlish?
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 1:11pm Brian in UK:

Doug A programme for every state of the union. NSA can do Maryland and the rest of the country for that matter!
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 1:12pm Amanda:

My first exposure to Des O'Connor was a joke about the Des O'Connor Show in a Monty Python book. "In case of emergency -- fire, rape, Des O'Connor show, etc --"
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 1:16pm Brian in UK:

He was/is a big suck up. Morcambe & Wise used to take the mickey out of him (with serious intent behind the laughter). Eric Morcambe was one of those comedians who was genuinely funny not a sad person like so many are. At least in this country.
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 1:16pm Doug Schulkind:

I have to dash out to put air in some tires. (Or tyres, if you prefer.) Keep blowing that cool wind, Amanda!
Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 1:17pm northguineahills:

Thanks Brian!

Avatar Wed. 6/19/13 1:32pm Uncle Michael:
