Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:01pm Carmichael:

Some drum, not some sand in the buttcrack ...
  Tue. 6/11/13 6:02pm Aurélie:

Great I'm a lover of music & radio
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:03pm hyde:

Perfect show for a sunny Aurélie.
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:15pm still b/p:

It took a few tries before my attempt to favorite Bongo Joe was successful and I had me a little panic.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:16pm listener james from westwood:

you want to fave joe, you've gotta give him your transistor radio.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:18pm Parq:

Actually, for a while there, it sounded like Bongo Joe was essaying a Nina Simone impression.
  Tue. 6/11/13 6:19pm admiral a:

I want to buy some land just to keep it from being developed on.
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:21pm Doug Schulkind:

The NSA heard that, admiral a.
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:22pm still b/p:

Among the transistor radios of childhood memory is the one a friend gave me as a birthday gift -- sold for $3.99 at Sunoco stations, it looked a little bit like one of their gas pumps. I think I mighta dropped and lost it in the salt water at a boat dock.
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:25pm Doug Schulkind:

I have a transistor radio with me almost literally at all times. I sleep with it. I take it in the shower.
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:26pm Doug Schulkind:

By "sleep with it," I assume you know what I mean. Get your minds out of the gutter.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:27pm Parq:

Ah, but what do you mean by "take it in the shower"?
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:27pm Doug Schulkind:

Just some good, clean fun, Parq.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:28pm listener james from westwood:

the dead transmitter thing still happens occasionally.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:29pm Parq:

My saintly departed mother once said that I don't know what good clean fun is. And she was right; I haven't got the vaguest idea what good it is.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:29pm davex:

Hey, if you broadcast this over the air it could panic some listeners.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:29pm hyde:

Hey, mister on the radio. You're really my best friend.
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:30pm Doug Schulkind:

davex, we could have our own little "War of the Worlds" event.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:32pm davex:

Exactly! Another stunt would be to make FMU sound like a mainstream station for an hour or two. Maybe with fake commercials to complete the experience.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:32pm ndbob:

had no idea that Eric Bentley made records
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:33pm Doug Schulkind:

I adore Eric Bentley. He also has a recording on Folkways singing Hanns Eisler.
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:33pm northguineahills:

Thought something might happen today, just got email asking me for an interview next week.

Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:37pm Carmichael:

One of my first memories is my brother listening to RTE Radio on a Paddy transistor radio out in the barn. Da didn't like us doing that.

Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:55pm Doug Schulkind:

OK, Uncle Michael. As long as you're not, um, D&Cing.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:56pm davex:

Funny - and possibly psychic - if you saw the text that I am editing right now, Carmichael.

I actually meant something from the Conet Project.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:57pm Uncle Michael:

Everyone read the article about WFMU and KCRW? I'm glad it was the KCRW dude that used the word "tastemaker" and not Ken! www.engadget.com...
Avatar Tue. 6/11/13 6:57pm Doug Schulkind:

Hey davex, are you safe from all that flooding? Looks horrible out your way.
Avatar    Tue. 6/11/13 6:58pm davex:

Thanks for asking Doug! We got really lucky here in Leipzig (the sandbags may have helped too), but the region has been hit hard.
