Hey there, PGB!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:05am
PGB:

Hey, ALC. Is the signal good in Pennsylvania?
  3:07am
ALC:

Using the iPhone app... couldn't get your signal in the car shortly ago. Realized that I had stayed up so late, I could catch your show.
  3:12am
Martyn:

Good morning PGB.

Floods in NJ, sunshine in UK.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:14am
PGB:

I'm surprised it's only one county. It's supposed to rain a lot.
  3:17am
Emile:

P! G! B!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:20am
PGB:

Emile! Plugged in and ready to go. It looks like we'll need a weather report from your neighborhood to keep things going.
  3:22am
Emile:

Warm and breezy, slightly overcast and very musical
  3:24am
P-90:

Ahhhh...Clara. Bella diva mia!

  3:26am
ALC:

100% of our daily recommended dosage of Theremin!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:27am
PGB:

Yep. Theremin, of course. Stayed tuned for that other instrument. The one I've included in every show since the beginning of time. That should light things up...I think.
  3:28am
P-90:

Smellotron?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:29am
PGB:

Played for too long...one might call it that.
  3:31am
Emile:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34am
PGB:

Someday we can mash them up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35am
Brian in UK:

Mornin' PGB & folks. First chance to thank you for your sterling work in the Hoof 'n Mouth.
  3:39am
P-90:

This is a truly superb band.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41am
PGB:

Sterling? Thanks! (I'd be happy with pewter.) We had a fun year opening in the new performance space here in Jersey City.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46am
Brian in UK:

Platinum has a good ring to it, just kinda difficult to fit into a sentence.
Ah Laura. One of John Peel's favourites.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:04am
Stanley:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:05am
Stanley:

I see Bill Mac hasn't shown up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:06am
PGB:

Yes...it's the after party. I heard Rich Hazelton announce that I was filling in, so I had to rush over here to the station!
Avatar 4:09am
Jay/London:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:17am
Stanley:

He'll be working overtime, then.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23am
G:

É assim falava mefistófeles

That's how it is, Mephistopheles was saying
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:23am
PGB:

Thus spake Mephistopheles?
Avatar 4:26am
Danny Tweek:

Nice selections!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28am
G:

E assim falava mefistófeles would be "And thus spo/ake M."

Falou! as they say in Brasil. "He spoke!" (Meaning "Right on!" back in the 70s)

Eclectic pleasantness...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:28am
PGB:

I have a confession. I'm not playing all the instruments myself.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:32am
G:

Brian in UK:

Compilations rule. What are the rules for compilations?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:46am
PGB:

Rules? I have no idea. Care to propose some?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:47am
PGB:

I rarely announce the label of a track. But I try do it for compilations.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:57am
Brian in UK:

Not really, they are possibly the only redeeming feature of compact discs. Comps have opened a whole new world of music. Some labels seem to specialise in them. At the moment it appears to be endless. Where the next one will come from.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:18am
Stanley:

Hi Brian - you can rely on Soul Jazz to come up with something good. Take their "The Sexual Life Of The Savages — Underground Post-Punk from Sao Paulo, Brasil", for instance.

...and the WFMU premiums, of course.
Avatar 5:20am
Danny Tweek:

They're young..They think....so funny
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:20am
Stanley:

..and one of my favourites "Brazilian Guitar Fuzz Bananas"
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24am
Brian in UK:

Hello Stanley. Love Brother John's voice.

Honest Jons do the job, had to buy this one
www.honestjons.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26am
PGB:

Is it just me, or does Brother John's voice approach the sound of Ken Nordine?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28am
Brian in UK:

Heading that way, PGB. Not sure if I would buy a used car from him.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29am
PGB:

Or Nescafe instant coffee?
  5:32am
Stuart:

Not sure if anyone remembers when brother John was the automated dj on wabc-fm during the late 1960s
  5:34am
Stuart:

also why did this version of Leader of thee Pack sound different and better than any version I have previously heard?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:35am
PGB:

You're right. That version was from a compilation! Cleaned up and remastered, no doubt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:37am
Brian in UK:

What was the motorbike revving up? Not a Harley. Triumph?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40am
PGB:

Whatever it was, we know it didn't come out of a digital sample library.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46am
Brian in UK:

Great mix PGB.
Remember the end of 'The Taking of Pelham 123' Walter Matthau final shot saying Gazuntheit
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:48am
PGB:

I saw that for the first time just a couple of years ago.
Avatar 5:59am
