Why not say the new Daft Punk is bad if you think so? You sound profoundly underwhelmed - that can't mean it's good!
Avatar 12:42pm
Duane:

JShatan: I don't think it's bad music..and i Couldn't really say I was let down, because I really wasn't expecting much..so in a lot of ways it met my expectations ya know?
  12:43pm
Cecile:

I'll have to hear it.
It actually might be how I felt about Thriller at first. "People like this? Compared to Off the Wall?"

But 3 yrs of dancing to it made me warm to it. Though it's still no Off The Wall.
Avatar 12:44pm
robyn:

best daft punk song?
Avatar 12:44pm
Droll:

Jshatan, I support the notion of having mixed reaction to albums. Maybe the production is amazing and the songs suck, or vice-versa... Maybe the band sounds and plays better than ever but they're just aping another band's thing... Reducing reactions to "This Sucks/This Rules" doesn't serve anyone.
Avatar 12:44pm
steve:

I'm with you Cecile. Thriller is definitely no Off The Wall.
Avatar 12:45pm

Yes, Off The Wall is miles better - much more musical, while Thriller is more calculating. Still great, though.

And for me, the only way I even looked into was my Twitter pal saying, "oh, hey Daft Punk, Pharrell and Nile Rogers did this song." And I played it 6 times on YouTube straight thru. And I HAVE heard Alan Parson's I Robot numerous times. And it is no Tales of Mystery and Imagination. Which also has a vocoder on it.
