Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:17pm Matt from Springfield:

Sweet, Uncka Michael!
I've listened to your shows on Archive--great tunes, and GREAT taste in bed musics! :)
I'd better email the Stream Team then, see if I can listen live @work by Friday!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:18pm Matt from Springfield:

Ahh, Dino de L's "King Kong" remake. Like the Michael Bay of his day??
  Mon. 5/13/13 3:21pm common:

creepy!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:27pm KP:

Fun tonight!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:31pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

DIS ROCKING MY FACE INTO FIRE ROOF DESTROY FACE.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:33pm w41:

isn't this the lead singer of KHLAAAAAMMMM! :)
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:35pm Irene Trudel:

That Rivuschie Struny track was incredible and evil.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:36pm chris:

This is like Shrek meets Quadrophenia. Sweet!
  Mon. 5/13/13 3:39pm common:

isn't that king kong version awful!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:41pm tim from champaign:

Was Tim Conway and Don Knotts in that version of King Kong or am I thinking The Apple Dumplin Gang?
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:42pm Matt from Springfield:

The Apple Dumplin Gang for sure, don't *think* Don Knotts would've been in the King Kong remake, but I could be wrong.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:45pm Matt from Springfield:

@tim: Nope. But hey, Rene Auberjonois! And Jack O'Halloran! And "Joe Piscopo as Bit Part"!! (Wish the trailer announcer guy would single him out and announce those very words!!)
  Mon. 5/13/13 3:45pm dale:

the natives in the peter jackson version scared the crap out of me.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:47pm Uncle Michael:

I'm glad you like the beds. I don't know if I can count on using fresh ones every week but I'll try and build a nice library of them.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:47pm tim from champaign:

Joe Piscopo?!? I thought Piscopo royally sucked until I remembered how unfunny Billy Crystal is.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:51pm Matt from Springfield:

@tim: Come now, the *sum* talent of Billy Crystal is greater than the sum talent of Joe; Billy will always have a nice role in Spinal Tap, for example.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:53pm Carmichael:

What did he do in Spinal Tap?
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:53pm tim from champaign:

Oh yeah, I forgot about Billy Crystal in Spinal Tap.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:55pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

Holy crap, dude.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:55pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

I mean that in the best possible way.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:57pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

adding exclamation marks by the bushel...
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:57pm Matt from Springfield:

@Carm: A young Dana Carvey = non-speaking mime waiter at Polydor Records premiere party. Billy Crystal = his speaking, short-tempered mime waiter supervisor in the back.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 3:58pm Matt from Springfield:

Hey Rev., I've got tons of exclamation points if you need some...
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:02pm Carmichael:

Oh yeah, I forgot about that part.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:06pm Uncle Michael:

I'm starting a Source Family tribute band.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:08pm tim from champaign:

It would be better to start a Source Family tribute family/cult.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:08pm Dave B:

mime is money
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:11pm Uncle Michael:

I don't want to run a health food restaurant though. I just want the chicks.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:11pm Dave B:

Artie Fufkin, Polymer Records...
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:13pm tim from champaign:

Good point, Uncle. Plus there's the "holy herb" and "sacred snow".
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:20pm Matt from Springfield:

@Dave B: Love him! Truly a crowning jewel of Paul Shaffer's long, distinguished career. (Second only perhaps, to writing "It's Raining Men"). Do I hafta smash an egg on my head to get you to a radio station?! Hey, Ken's never smashed eggs on his head for pledges yet, has he?
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:20pm Mike East:

hehe...I was singing this to my daughter to put her to sleep the other night...dunno why.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:21pm Ken From Hyde Park:

Yay, space guy! I hope you guys have the coolant leak all patched up now.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:21pm Carmichael:

Now you have to play Flight of the Conchord's Bowies in Space. You went and did it, Scott, you really went and did it this time.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:22pm KP:

Hey i just stole that from Tara Dublin!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:22pm Jeff:

When he sings that he's floating in a most peculiar way, he's ACTUALLY floating in a most peculiar way...

news.cnet.com...
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:22pm Bas NL:

Great Space Oddity cover!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:23pm Andrew Waterloo:

also backed by Emm Gryner
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:23pm MD:

This is neat...but this song has nothing to do wiith space....just ask my Monkey!!!!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:24pm Matt from Springfield:

I had to look up who the actor was playing the hyper-manic mohel on Seinfeld (Charles Levin)--I then found out I'd seen him in other small roles (the man/Woody stand-in in the play Woody directs at the end of Annie Hall), and the Disc 'n Dat record store manager in Spinal Tap!
With Artie Fufkin, two middle aged Jewish guys arguing over who screwed up more--bleak and funny grade-A Christopher Guest material.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:26pm Carmichael:

Now if that astronaut could only sing Steve Miller's Space Cowboy, he'd be a hit with the ladies.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:26pm Matt from Springfield:

Bowie's in .... Space.... best parody/tribute to Bowie's oeuvre! One of the very best of Flight of the Conchords, aamof.

@Mike: It has a nice lullaby feel to it, esp. a capella. In fact you could even sing Peter Schilling's "Major Tom (Coming Home)", and that would probably work as well.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:28pm Matt from Springfield:

@Carm: On the condition that, NASA can engineer a way to play that "Maurice" twang on electric guitar in a space environment.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:35pm Dave B:

@Matt from Springfield - Schaffer also did a pretty dead on Don Kirshner impersonation
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:37pm Green Mountain Man Mark:

Imagine Jimmy Hendrix in space. He might let his guitar float up with the no gravity thing and play it with his teeth hands free.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 4:43pm Mike East:

Hendrix was in space, I think...opening track of Axis Bold as Love
Mon. 5/13/13 4:51pm Late to the Party:

somebody had to do it: http://youtu.be/cv5FwzRBc_Y
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:00pm glenn:

excellent. i show up just in time for the dead.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:04pm Dave B:

This was kinda neat

thewire.co.uk...
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:12pm tim from champaign:

That is cool, Dave.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:15pm northguineahills:

yeah, I think I remember that Madlib article.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:17pm Uncle Michael:

This is nice: fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net...
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:19pm northguineahills:

Damn, this Davidson/Karkowski is deep. Me likey!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:19pm Rev. Turnip Druid:

ZBIGNIEW!
  Mon. 5/13/13 5:20pm here:

scott, saw some scopitone clips over the weekend and there was she was, colette magny and thought of you. think the track was basin street blues?
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:21pm glenn:

i went to high school with chris hadfield. he's always been a thoroughly decent guy.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:22pm Scott Williams:

Colette! Haven't heard her in awhile, gotta hit some soon. Hi Here!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:23pm Carmichael:

Anyone named Zbigniew is OK by me.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:24pm Chris from DC:

Ooh this Karkowski thing is nice.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:25pm Carmichael:

I had to crank this way up; though t I lost the signal. This is beginning to sound like Bryce's show ...
  Mon. 5/13/13 5:37pm Brett:

Yay electronical sounds!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:47pm Matt from Springfield:

Oh wow, the mangled Led Zeppelin IV 8 track! Kenny G once played that, I love that! And not playing right in the CD players?? That's surely a sign!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:50pm Matt from Springfield:

Shangri-Las x Cocteau Twins. Excellent!!!

"Hare Tarot Lies" is certainly a CT style song title..
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:50pm Ike:

I love this No Joy song. The album is not bad, but nothing else quite matches this track.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:52pm Ike:

I don't usually check out music videos, but the video for "Hare Tarot Lies" is fun to watch, with some very colorful bad tripping.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:52pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Jiimi Hendrix was born w/ the Galactic Center Rising in his Astrological Birth Chart.
Nobody asked, & it won't mean anything to anyone.
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:53pm Uncle Michael:

Good stuff, Scott. Enjoyed the program. Heading out...
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Astrological Hare Tells Truth
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:54pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Watching astronaut Chris' video now on BBC News. Kewl!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:55pm Matt from Springfield:

Liar Paradox, via a Revolution Rabbit! :)

Night, UM!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:59pm northguineahills:

Thanks Scott!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 5:59pm Matt from Springfield:

Break that guitar!

Thanks Scott! Have a good'un, every'un!
Avatar Mon. 5/13/13 6:01pm Bas NL:

Thanks Scott! Great three hours!
