Turning over the toy box and jamming together the gloriously mismatched musical Lincoln Logs, Legos and Tinker Toys from Tin Pan Alley pluggers, pickled egg tavern weepers, lockstep soul ensembles, skinny-tie power poppers, Eurotrash ravers, moontanned art school rockers, drunken soccer anthems and anything else that seems like a good idea at the time. There are no guilty pleasures.

Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:06pm pacific standard simon:

That's a rather personal question, Brian, but... a little to the left, as usual.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:07pm Uncle Michael:

Simon dresses left, as do I.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:08pm Alex In Illinois:

We are in Kansas now? Wow. Uncle Mike: Does the rest of Kansas know you are here? I don't think you are safe.

@UM, the artist name and song title are reversed in the "now playing" field, on the playlist and on my internet radio readout.

Other than that, everything is super super.

Flying Monkeys vs. Hinky Dinkys!
Avatar Fri. 5/10/13 12:23pm still b/p:

I was trying to describe this song and lyric to someone who could do a great Cos imitation of his own but is too young to be familiar with this sitcom theme. Justice to it I did not do.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:25pm Alex In Illinois:

Flying Monkeys and Wicked Witches sound fun and interesting. When I think of Kansas, I think of Fundementalists who insist that the world was created 6000 years ago on a Tuesday and who think that the U. S. Constitution was written by Jesus while riding a dinosaur.
     Fri. 5/10/13 12:26pm 12539:

When I think of Kansas I think of Dust In the Wind.
Avatar Fri. 5/10/13 12:29pm other eddie:

When I think of Dust in the Wind I think of Don Kirshner
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:29pm Brian in UK:

A slightly yodelling pop record I was always fond of was 'Five O'clock World' by The Vogues.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:31pm pacific standard simon:

We all have our crosses to bear, Alex -- in Illinois, you have the businessmen of Cairo, who turned their town into a ghost town rather than hire black people.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:32pm Uncle Michael:

Whwn I think of Don Kirschner I think of Paul Schaefer.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:36pm Uncle Michael:

Everyone knows Jesus was piloting a pterodactyl.

Brian Eno's "7 Deadly Finns" has vast amounts of pseudo-yodeling.

Fred Flintstone died for your sins, Uncle Michael -- betrayed by a kiss from Barney.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:41pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar Fri. 5/10/13 12:46pm Doug Schulkind:

I was actually shaking my booday. Was that wrong?
Avatar Fri. 5/10/13 12:46pm still b/p:

In his first miracle, Jesus attended a lodge meeting and changed Water Buffalos into winos.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 12:48pm pacific standard simon:

Avatar Fri. 5/10/13 12:57pm still b/p:

Love the Hawaiian Cowboy. Put together a Bollywaiians musical crew and you'd have.....something
Avatar Fri. 5/10/13 1:01pm Nine in pgh:

Good sounds moving the cones today. Thanks to Doug for getting Uncle Michael on the stream.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:01pm pacific standard simon:

Wait, what? The Old Codger recorded a split 45 with The Stranglers?!
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:02pm Alex In Illinois:

Pacific Standard Simon: yes Cairo and their "White Hats", totally against the Civil rights program. Before the Civil War, Cairo was a major part of the Underground Railway. After the civil war, it is as if it turned into a piece of Mississippi that attached itself to the bottom of the state.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:03pm Uncle Michael:

Simon, my belief is that The Old Codger and Tank are two songs on the flip of this 6:22 track.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:03pm Olav the Norweigen formerly Brian in UK:

Hello Uncle Michael (lowers voice) Well I don't think I'll be picking up any dropped cuff links right now, if you get my drift.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:04pm pacific standard simon:

Poop, I liked it better my way.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:04pm Uncle Michael:

You have to bend over pretty far to lutefisk one out of the heating grate.
     Fri. 5/10/13 1:05pm 12539:

@pss: I don't think the Codger would deign to go near anything that spins less than 78 rpm.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:06pm Brian in UK:

Walk on By is forever by Leroy Van Dyke.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:06pm pacific standard simon:

I'll lefse that to you.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:07pm Uncle Michael:

I don't know that version, Brian...but I soon will.

Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:11pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar Fri. 5/10/13 1:12pm still b/p:

I was thinking about this song yesterday during Charlie's themed show.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:12pm Uncle Michael:

So was I, SBP!
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:13pm ndbob:

Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:14pm Uncle Michael:

Ah, yes.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:14pm Brian in UK:

@UM completely different song. Just that the title is the same. Used to have a copy when I was a nipper.
Avatar    Fri. 5/10/13 1:15pm Brian in UK:

When I say nipper that does not mean I was the HMV dog.
Avatar Fri. 5/10/13 1:15pm Doug Schulkind:

The name Ripple has always made me chuckle.

I can't trust my memory. One part of it is telling me that I have never heard this Choctow Bingo song before, while another part of my memory is telling me that this is the most familiar song I know.
