@G: Yes...now I'm suffering the after effects of three hours of trying to sound relaxed while furiously concentrating on brand new tasks. But it's all good. I had a really good time.

Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:36pm tomB:

Several early versions of "I Who Hv Nothing" but it's obvious now who Tom Jones cribbed from.

Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:38pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...performers have said nerves are good: means you are alert & you give a crap...
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:41pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...this is going to seem a very short hour...gotta stop putting off switching to a good Mac I got; gotta get this podcast...
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:41pm tomB:

Have the Fuller Bros. been on any Atomic Bomb comp? Mr. Fine Wine, this is your chance!
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:42pm Mr. Fine Wine:

As long as your nerves aren't so jangled that "give a crap" becomes, uh, more literal...
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:42pm Mr. Fine Wine:

tomB: Don't know said comps.
  Fri. 5/3/13 8:42pm baby jag:

Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:46pm tomB:

@Revolution R. I caught the similarity of Doris Troy's song to Dusty as well. I believe Doris was doing b/ups in England during the 60s, so I'm thinking that Dusty picked the right voice to appropriate (but I mean that in a good way).
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:46pm Uncle Michael:

performers are right
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:48pm Mr. Fine Wine:

Thanks, spidermank.
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:50pm Mr. Fine Wine:

This Toni LaMarr is KILLER hokey smoke!
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:56pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- second spidermank on that :
...I said on efd's show other nite, 'how can FMU play so much great New Stuff - & the rest of the Workd get it so Wrong??" (efd plays stuff from whatever year actually)
- & it's true of the Vintage here too: how many times do we hear the same 'oldies' - & here you present astonishing stuff I've never heard of - whatsoever (I admit)...
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:59pm Uncle Michael:

I just have always tried to make radio I'd want to hear. I want to be surprised...astonished...tickled. Not everyone does. A lot of people are discomfited by the unfamiliar. Getting to do it for WFMU is sucj a treat.
Avatar Fri. 5/3/13 8:59pm Uncle Michael:

Thanks for the soul, MFW!
