Avatar Wed. 4/17/13 9:23pm Pete from Boston (and NJ):

Ha! Yes! I was talking about "Long Table For Two" just a few days ago. All bend over before Lord Bendover!
Avatar Wed. 4/17/13 9:24pm efd:

the weird thing is that the inner sleeve of that Aerosmith LP os from one of the discs from ELO's Out Of The Blue doulbe album. Have no idea how that happened.
  Wed. 4/17/13 9:25pm Ralphine:

Maybe that Aerosmith is really valuable, like one of those upside-down stamps.
Avatar Wed. 4/17/13 9:25pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Clay tried to stretch boundaries of 'Power Pop' to (I'd guess) get points for atypical choices - which kept it interesting. efd more in his element though, & didn't mess around.

I like the way you think, efd
  Wed. 4/17/13 9:36pm Joel:

That's Okay, who could argue with this choice. Maybe a future selection.. Was anything of their's re-released on cd - other than six on the comp ?
Avatar Wed. 4/17/13 9:36pm Irwin:

Topicality aside, EFD, "Dirty Water" has a pretty cool drum part.
Avatar Wed. 4/17/13 9:36pm Barkevious Shabazz:

@EFD Is the original 7" version of Academy Fight Song available anywhere other than the original 7"? Support from all in Philly.
Avatar Wed. 4/17/13 9:37pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- strong set even if it wasn't timely & poignant.
- Go to efd for your Boston Set.
...I'd plunk for 'Fragmentary March of Green' by Ultimate Spinach - if it were that kinda Program & there was time...

For years I had "Don't Respond, She Can Tell" in my head due to an Alias Records sampler that I lifted from my older brother when I was in high school. Only kind of recently did I come across a Loud Family CD in a used bin. Love that record, listened to it lots when I got it and for some time afterward. Sad to hear about Scott Miller's passing away.

I would like to say that, as someone who wasn't so exposed to Scott Miller's music during his life, but was a great fan of what I'd heard, I'm at least grateful to hear this show and all these great songs. Clearly a brilliant songwriter.
  Wed. 4/17/13 11:32pm Tony:

Any chance of going out upbeat, like Linus and Lucy, or Sleeping Through Heaven?
  Wed. 4/17/13 11:53pm Scott Briggs:

Sorry to check in so late, I wrote to Sue Trowbridge to send condolences. I only know some Game Theory from my old college radio days etc. but I always liked what I heard. I need to really catch up. I intend to read Scott's book as well as soon as I can order a copy. Sorry to hear such awful news.

P.S. meant to say thanks for playing all this Scott and other related music not a bad track in the bunch!! I just don't hear music like this on radio enough these days. Only some of the dudes on WFDU play any of the 80s bands anymore, besides WFMU.
