The obsessive compulsive in me loved the SNL BOC/Cowbell sketch (since I always found the cowbell in that song distracting) but the anal retentive in me found that the Bruce Dickensen mistake almost ruined it.

@Tony - I'm about to move to the Seattle area, and I'll be heading down to Portland when I want to root through the used and remaindered books at Powell's.
Avatar 1:27pm
Tony Coulter:

Yeah, Powell's is great. There are also lots of other good used book stores here -- smaller, but still good. Sort of like the bookstores that used to be on Fourth Ave. in NYC, if anybody remembers those.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:28pm

@glenn - bookmarked your link for later reading. It always seemed odd that Toronto didn't have a major league team until the '70s.

rich, i think ken freedman ascribes the post-record fair plague that descends on the station to the spores that en masse digging at the metro pavilion stirs up!
Avatar 1:33pm

Even worse than mold is the ink used by some of those DVD companies that specialize in cheapo, out-of-copyright films. Damn things give me an instant headache. Alpha Video seems particularly noxious.

hi Tony, are you playing this Garfield at the "right" speed? This was a big radio hit in Canada back in the day, but I don't remember it sounding like this ...

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:37pm
pacific standard simon:

Well, if the film is out of copyright, then it should be available at The Internet Archive -- and there you go.
Avatar 1:38pm
Tony Coulter:

@ from Quebec: Yes! I am playing it at the right speed. Either my turntable is acting up, or they had a special slowed-down mix to make the singer sound more manly.
Avatar 1:41pm
Tony Coulter:

He does have Geddy Lee/ David Surkamp–like vocals, though.
