Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:40pm Monica:

Thanks, Doug!....Yo, Fiveash!...david, you're right - celeste...ken in denver, thanks, kiddo!...G, pic?...CB1, "we can rebuild him, stronger, better"... s'wolf, hear ya, sister. i know my sight has gotten worser....
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:41pm G:

haha, as if! maybe someday.
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:41pm david_:

I got my eyes checked as a kid shortly after discovering the Beatles... wanted John's granny glasses... alas, my vision was fine...
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:44pm fleep:

Fourth grade. Copying math problems off the board incorrectly, leading to parents checking for the right answers to the wrong problems, leading to a parent-teacher conference and ... glasses.
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:44pm deanland:

In the 3rd grade I was seated way far in the back of the class, the last row (due to being a disruptive type, back when the word disruptive meant ill behaved or naughty, not innovative). It was about that time I got my first pair of glasses and was STUNNED to learn that the blackboard was actually visible. I thought not seeing the blackboard was a punishment (despite thinking it was a certain form of freedom). First vanity moment re aging: one day, instinctively I removed my glasses to read something. The guy across from me said something to the effect of,"heh, you're an old man, eh, gotta take off the glasses to read?" I am reluctant to tell you just how many years ago that was.
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:46pm G:

Yes, glasses likewise came to me at age 7 from "copying homework off the board" issues.

But I was thinking the topic was something like our first signal of incipient elderhood (which might be glasses, but not in 2nd grade)
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:46pm Monica:

sweet story, deanland... fleep, awwwww.... david_ - yeah!....
  Sun. 3/31/13 7:48pm trish:

That 101 year old marathon runner inspired me to replace my mini-trampoline (which was a crap one sprung by fabric not springs).
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:51pm deanland:

Only hearing the 1st hour tonight :-( Gotta go with friends in town for dinner
  Sun. 3/31/13 7:53pm CB1:

Before my first pair of glasses (aged 7) I just thought the world turned soft when you moved away from things.
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:53pm david_:

I think my age vanity issues started when I would try to look graceful doing exercise or sports, and immediately get a charlie horse or feel some bone trying to work its way out of place...
  Sun. 3/31/13 7:54pm listener gary:

I have such a bad cold I forgot that it's sunday. sorry to have missed the first one half. Hello dj monica!
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:55pm fleep:

Vanity issue would be a brief fling with Grecian Formula. Ultimately it was like yelling at the tide, so we parted ways.
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:58pm david_:

great Moondog crossfade...
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 7:58pm sugarwolf:

I was reading a family scrapbook of newspaper clippings from the 30s and 40s this weekend. There was a picture of one of the local nonagenarians with the headline MENTALLY ALERT.

  Sun. 3/31/13 8:26pm listener gary:

Back in 59 I saw Miss Merman in Gypsy ...twice. In those days performers were not miked and when Miss Ethel sang the chandeliers trembled...I kid you not...good rich theatre full of sound.

Evening, all! In recovery from a 40-gone-wild women's birthday carousal in Texas. Just woke and missed most of Mo's party, but glad to have this bosom to nestle into for the remainder. Super turntable visions here!

Catsilk - so was Melissa McCarthy there or what?....

Great Show as always !

  Sun. 3/31/13 8:51pm trish:

This is young headphone music for me. Looking back, it was also probably a baby sitter tactic.
Avatar Sun. 3/31/13 8:53pm fleep:
