Often feel like it's Later Than I Think

- but one aspect of Creativity is to address the Times rather than deny them - & to take the Feelings - & the Sounds -around us - whatever they may be - & try to do something Aesthetic & Self-Expressive w/ *even them*. This makes them Ours rather than Theirs. (It's what Jung called 'Individuation' - becoming an Individual in relation to your Environment.)

- It's legit to have your Tastes
- & to Critique things on their own terms
- but it's worth learning what those terms are first - & Respectful to do so as well.

I just don't get why they've booked Izzard into an arena for his gig here? I mean, stand-up in general has only been popular here for 2-3 years, Izzard himself has fans certainly, but nowhere enough to fill an arena I suspect. Since the arena booking list for 6 months is essentially "Paul McCartney, Lady Gaga, Iron Maiden, Eddie Izzard, Bruce Springsteen". Really? I complain because as a fan I'd like to see him come here again, and if he ends up performing for a mostly empty house, he ain't gonna come back!

@RRN63: he's been here once before, but it was a way smaller venue. I suspect the arena booking now is part "lots of fans were unable to get tickets last time, so we need a bigger venue" gone overboard and part "the booking agent is having delusions of grandieur".

@RRN63: As nervous and paranoid as a lot of standups normally are, I'm sure they stress out all the time about empty seats or worse, blank stares. You're looking at 1 person on the stage; they're looking at a few hundred or thousand people, worried that they won't laugh.
