Madness here at Parqbench Control, Doug, but going to have you on in the background, and here's a quick check-in to congratulate you on your brilliantly executed 'thon duties.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 5:50pm Doug Schulkind:

A pleasure and and honor, Sir Parq.

Eagerly awaiting tales of the extravagant renovations underway at Drummer Central - Italian marble fixtures, purple crushed velvet divan, tiny giraffe housepets...

The a capella vocal track just there was cool -- and it was?

Hi Doug! Hi Drummers! Hi AWESOME Pledgers!
Play the "Nothing Compares 2 UR Bacon" demo!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 5:59pm Doug Schulkind:

Music from Sardinia, Parq. Group called Tenores Di Bitti Remunnu E'Locu. The most gorgeous polyphonic vocals on the planet. Or at least in the Top Hundrend.

Greetings ndbob and Matt from Springfield!

Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:07pm Stanley:

Hi Doug.
Well done to GTDR and all who ponied up for the best station in the world's little brother.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:08pm Matt from Springfield:

Lordz of Folk, this is nice.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:09pm Doug Schulkind:

The Little Brother that could, chugga chugga!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:09pm Matt from Springfield:

@Stanley: And they don't even need to share a room! (Of course, we love it so much when Studio P comes to the Mothership's room to do a show...)
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:11pm Holly in NC:

Ok, stuck at home because I am the biggest fan of moody 60s garage psych ever. Ever.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:12pm Doug Schulkind:

Actaully, I think what The Bards meant was, you broke my heart in a million point two.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:12pm Holly in NC:

Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:16pm Doug Schulkind:

Funny how so many "thank you" songs are meant ironically.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:17pm Holly in NC:

Gotta say I prefer Ernest Tubb's version (sorry Doug!)
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:17pm Matt from Springfield:

@Holly: Gee, thanks.
;)
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:17pm Doug Schulkind:

"Sorry" and "Ernest Tubb" should never appear in the same sentence.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:20pm Matt from Springfield:

Oooh, is this the Oliver Sain bed? THANK YOU DOUG, I love this one!

And THANK YOU 20K-ers of GTDR! Move on up, to our destination!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:23pm Matt from Springfield:

And non-ironic thank you Holly! :)
I oughta thank Van in DC as well, he probably contributed more than 1% of that total! :)
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:24pm Matt from Springfield:

Ack, Odell Brown...mixing my beds up! This is a classic as well though! Always a welcome interlude!

Hey, where did I wake up just now??!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:24pm Holly in NC:

@Matt ? I've lost convo thread. Now am REALLY scooping cat litter & then getting in car & choogling to real internet access (and good people, fine loose leaf green tea, and, er, proximity to the porchetta food truck - I seriously choose to eat sardines for 3 meals this week (& eggs for 6) to get me some porchetta) ;-)
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:25pm Holly in NC:

We all should probably pledge to Van!
Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:25pm Uncle Michael:

Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:25pm Doug Schulkind:

And Uncles!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:26pm Matt from Springfield:

@Holly: OH, the 6:17 comment was just a joke linking your previous comment with Doug's previous. The 6:23 one was a thanks for your after Friday pledge to Doug that he announced :)

Pledge to Van? That would start a bad precedent! Then I and other heavy listeners might get pledged to as well!
Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:26pm Uncle Michael:

I am in the hizzle.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:26pm Matt from Springfield:

Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:27pm Doug Schulkind:

For Listener Holly adopting the Miner from Mining the Audio Motherlode (again!)

and Van in DC for adopting the button-pusher of Studio P.

THANK YOU Holly and Van!

Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:29pm Matt from Springfield:

@Doug: As your adoptive guardian, Van should call this week to make sure you're not getting into trouble with the family out of town!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:29pm Holly in NC:

@Matt - & there'd be nothing wrong w pledging to you! (thanks Matt VERY sincerely)
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:30pm Holly in NC:

"young Lincoln" cracked me up.
If said young Lincoln heard, I suspect her reaction varied from mine.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:31pm Doug Schulkind:

It's gonna be a long week without my goils. Maybe I'll file all my damn records or something. Our dear Van usually catches the Tuesday episode on archive. He will be praised up front and center on Friday.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:31pm Matt from Springfield:

♥ Holly! :D
Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:32pm Stanley:

@Matt - (back from bathroom) this stream is an amazing thing. I remember Doug keeping the show on the road during the hurricane. Awesome.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:32pm Doug Schulkind:

Young Lincoln is now taking karate. If she heard me call her "young Lincoln," she'd deliver a swift kick to my kidneys.
Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:33pm ndbob:

Ha Doug!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:34pm Matt from Springfield:

@Doug: Didn't you see they were going to stay by the British Museum? That truly is a wonderful place, one of my Top 5 museums for the world. And their "tea" (really a cafe, was in the enclosed courtyard) is considered the best value for a tea in London. I had my very first capuccino there! Not a frequent sipper of them, but because of that I try to order a capuccino whenever I go any place exotic!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:34pm Holly in NC:

@Doug, figured something like. :-)
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:36pm Matt from Springfield:

@Stanley: That was an amazing achievement - 6 hours of Studio P proping up all of FMU during a critical time.

@Doug: Komik Ks!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:37pm Matt from Springfield:

Ahhhh, now that's the stuff! *slow exhale*
Thanks muchly Doug!
Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:38pm Uncle Michael:

Love this.
Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:39pm Stanley:

And Matt - let's hear it for Matt Fiveash. The find of the year, for me!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:39pm Holly in NC:

Remind to tell you later, Doug (& everyone) about how & why I wear my FMU dancing skeleton shirt whenever I meet a new "babysitting" family, and how especially, monstrously ****awesome***** all reactions were last night from both parents and 10 & 4 y/o girls. Why I wear the shirt!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:41pm Matt from Springfield:

Yes Fiveash! He's played in the Hoof & Mouth Sinfonia band for many years, so nice to finally hear his great taste in music on a regular show!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:43pm Doug Schulkind:

Any parents scared away by an FMU shirt are OFF MY LIST!!!
Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:44pm Stanley:

@Matt - Impeccable taste. His St Valentine's show was quite incredible.
Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:44pm Uncle Michael:

It was fun watching Sunday night with a bunch of familiar commenters in the Hoovie playlist.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:44pm Holly in NC:

DANCING skeleton, sorry.
I am not an idiot, just tired
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:45pm Doug Schulkind:

I fixed your "dancing" Holly. It's the least I could do.
Avatar    Tue. 3/19/13 6:46pm ndbob:

Holly - sounds great - I have that shirt actually

Tonight's show is smokin'!
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:49pm Doug Schulkind:

Yay Aurélie! I mentioned you on my show last week. I was talking about how when you first started listening I realized that, with you in New Caledonia, there were people listening and commenting from SEVEN different time zones. That just blows me away.

@doug: Yeah but sometimes it sucks to be in New-Caledonia, I just MISS your radioshow.
Avatar Tue. 3/19/13 6:59pm Doug Schulkind:

@Aurélie
It almost always sucks sometime to be Anywhere. And then it doesn't!
