It's like having Christmas for 14 days in a row. I am toast!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:23am Scott McDowell:

Mon. 3/18/13 12:25am Holly in NC:

WUUUUUUUUUUUF MUUUUUUUUU!
Mon. 3/18/13 12:32am Bob in DC and/or VA:

Congratulations to all in WFMU land!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:32am Ken From Hyde Park:

Good job on stage tonight, Therese and Scott. All the performances were just swell tonight.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:34am KP:

Therese with her James Brown exit.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:35am Greg from Bloomfield:

For reals, Therese- you murdered it tonight.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:36am Caryn:

I do enjoy watching the dog and cow go about their business.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:37am KP:

Hey Caryn!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:38am KP:

The performances I saw were legit really good to freaking fantastic.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:41am Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I would like to dedicate my next drink to Joe Frank and listener Bill from VT. One caught my attention 20+ years ago, the other fed it back to me by stating, "It's changed the way I listen to music" roughly 15 years ago. It continues to do so for me.
Mon. 3/18/13 12:42am Holly in NC:

Caryn, you must be beyond exhausted! I went back to for 2 hrs in am & now have hit dreaded too tired to sleep point. Rereading Bill Bryson for comfort while enjoying Therese.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:44am Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I am going to go out on a freeform ledge here and say -- let us all please raise a glass to Mr. Nachum Segal. His JM in the AM makes a much more significant contribution to the bottom line than a lot of local and most internet listeners ever realize.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:45am Caryn:

Hi KP!

Yeah, Holly, way tired now. But trying to do some final morning chores so I can sleep deeply and for long.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:45am softspool:

loving the exultant music. go WMFU!!!!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:46am Greg from Bloomfield:

Big Up Nachum. To quote Ted Leo: "Sometimes I listen to JM in the AM."
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:47am Pete from Boston (and NJ):

The "it" in "It's changed the way I listen to music" being WFMU, of course.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:49am Pete from Boston (and NJ):

When I'm on my NJ side of things, I often catch JM in the AM -- a show I knew through friends' parents before I knew WFMU -- and feel like I get a new context for how much this is really community radio.
  Mon. 3/18/13 12:52am krudler:

Does anyone else think this chorus is exactly like the Thong Song?
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 12:57am G:

True, Pete. It's not my listening preference, but I see the bumper stickers for JM in my area of Brooklyn. They raised $265,513 of their $240,000 goal. That's close to a quarter of the station budget, in exchange for the AM drive weekday slots (15 hours).

JM and Tom between them covered 475K or 40% of the station budget, so niche-ier things we like can have their space.

JM calls their swag tchotchkes, but the pledge format and even the layout of the pledge page is the same.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:01am Pete from Boston (and NJ):

"Tchotchkes" was the chosen regular freeform premium name for the first years of the 2000s, too. I remember a discussion on the old WFMU message board about what to call the stuff, and that was the ultimate answer.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:02am Greg from Bloomfield:

Whoooooa, this takes me back...
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:05am northguineahills:

Was listening to Hoof & Mouf on my phone earlier, good fun!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:12am Pete from Boston (and NJ):

This song almost works in time with the mermaids on the marathon victory homepage image.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:14am Greg from Bloomfield:

YEAH THERESE dropping the Ex on my head at 1:15am!!!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:15am Srdjo:

my fave the ex track
Mon. 3/18/13 1:17am Holly in NC:

Another The Ex fan saying thanks :-)
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:19am Therese:

I am glad to be of service, Greg, Srdjo and Holly!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:19am Greg from Bloomfield:

This one time? At an Ex show? It was the anniversary of 9/11 and they played "Listen To The Painters" and I cried a lot.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:21am Caryn:

Dammit, don't want to go to sleep with all this good music still going on, but that's it. Need to crash now. Good night, all! Thanks to everyone - DJs, pledgers, volunteers, listeners - for making the Marathon a success. I can sleep happy now.
Mon. 3/18/13 1:21am Holly in NC:

And Feelies too!
Mon. 3/18/13 1:22am Adam Ramone in Portland and Lynnwood:

Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:31am alberto:

i'm so happy for wfmu!!! thank you therese!!!!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:36am BadGuyZero:

The phone room went nuts when the goal was reached. It was like in "Return of the Jedi" when the rebels get that star destroyer to crash into the Death Star.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:39am breadharrity:

Loving the show! This is a great victory playlist after the marathon! Does anyone know what the bed music was/is?
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:41am BadGuyZero:

"Pling!" by Shuggie Otis.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:42am breadharrity:

thanks!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:46am Danne D:

Hi/bye folks. Great job tonight Therese. Here's to another year of FMU.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:54am alberto:

material is sexy!!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 1:57am alberto:

hi kevin!!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 2:40am fred:

Very nice segues in this set, Therese
  Mon. 3/18/13 2:41am Chop Scott:

Therese! So nice to wind down after tonight's work listening to your show...
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 2:43am BadGuyZero:

If you had to pick between going to Vintage Vinyl or Princeton Record Exchange, which would you choose? Ill have time to visit one, but not both, in a couple of days. I'll be looking for records primarily, so any opinions you could pass along would be appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 2:43am Therese:

Thanks, Fred!

And Chop Scott, always a pleasure to see you.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 2:48am Hoboken Jack:

I think the Record Exchange is a bit more manageable for one visit. Vintage Vinyl is MASSIVE and has a lot of stuff you DON'T WANT so if time is an issue it's a little overwhelming. The used selection at the Record Exchange always seems a bit more, uh, well-chosen to me.
  Mon. 3/18/13 2:51am Roger:

Congrats Therese, WFMU, and to me for getting to hear Therese and WFMU for another year.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 2:54am BadGuyZero:

One of the things that has me leaning towards Record Exchange is that I want to go the wing place around the corner [Chuck's Spring Street Cafe]; the Menendez brothers purchased said wing place with the inheritance they received after murdering their parents.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 2:57am Hoboken Jack:

Ha! I ate a lot of those wings in high school just before we'd heard of the Menendez bros! Princeton is also nicer to visit; Vintage Vinyl is just in a strip mall right off the highway.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 2:59am BadGuyZero:

Thanks for the info/opinions, Hoboken Jack.
Avatar Mon. 3/18/13 3:02am Hoboken Jack:

My pleasure, BadGuyZero! Enjoy your trip and let us know how it goes!
