  Sat. 3/16/13 11:22am Andrea:

Greetings to Michael and to your beautiful radio. In my country a radio like yours would not exist. I greatly appreciate the USA for freedom of expression (and your radio is a good example of freedom). Greetings from Andy -Piacenza city ( Italy ) Beautiful song "I Say A Little Prayer" I really like this version! Congratulations! sorry I do not speak English!
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 11:26am Mike East:

Good morning, Michael. Gonna call in as soon as I can put Lucie down. She's got a bad cold and I don't want to wake her.
Avatar    Sat. 3/16/13 11:28am Ken From Hyde Park:

Freedom is practically WFMU's middle name.

Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 11:43am Kayle in Toronto:

I think that might've been the best possible explanation of why WFMU puts me in such a good mood
Avatar    Sat. 3/16/13 11:44am KP:

Right said Michael.
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 11:44am Stevel:

RE. Music we "don't like". Most music has its place to be loved. efd has given me an appreciation for disco that I NEVER had before. Good songs are good songs. MS and efd are two of the best at re framing amazing music.
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 11:52am Mike East:

agree 100% Stevel
Avatar    Sat. 3/16/13 11:57am Ken From Hyde Park:

I can see that you can hear music.
  Sat. 3/16/13 11:58am calzone!:

What I'd miss?
  Sat. 3/16/13 12:07pm JTE:

So WEIRD you're playing this. I was thinking YESTERDAY how WEIRD it is that I've never heard Elvis C. on WFMU.
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:08pm slocker:

Evan, would you administer the KISS trivia quiz in Starchild make-up?
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:08pm Matt F:

What Stevel said. Hullo boys!
  Sat. 3/16/13 12:08pm PJ:

I saw EC and the Imposters a few weeks ago opening for the Who, and they were on fire, 12 or 13 hits in 45 minutes. I have no love for latter day Elvis, and this set was great for me - the most recent song they played was Everyday I Write the Book, and they closed with a cover of Substitute.
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:09pm northguineahills:

I fully concur what Stevel, Mike East, and Matt F referred to.
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:13pm Caryn:

@JTE: "Accidents Will Happen" is on Therese's premium, so she played EC just last Sunday, but his songs do seem few and far between on WFMU
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:18pm Stevel:

Pledge for the IT!!!
  Sat. 3/16/13 12:19pm Red:

just tuned in. Did I miss any of Michael's pet gripes?
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:19pm Stevel:

Spanish Rice: Any song starting with a conversation in Spanish and English is a number one hit!
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:21pm northguineahills:

I love Spangledesh!
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:27pm Mike East:

hey, ngh, you got yer heart. like the tin man!
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:28pm northguineahills:

I pledged at the last second of Kurt's show, as I was told I have to wait until next week whether I got the job or not.
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:28pm Caryn:

Wait, did you just say, "Brian Wilson was on a show before he passed away"?
Avatar    Sat. 3/16/13 12:29pm KP:

It was Solomon Burke and let's hope it was before he passed away.
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:33pm Caryn:

@KP: thanks, KP!
Avatar    Sat. 3/16/13 12:34pm KP:

Caryn, dont they sleep in Finland?
  Sat. 3/16/13 12:34pm Red:

How about that really great John Cowsill interview? Or Sam Butera? They were both brought to tears. Where else can you hear this stuff? Who else is going into the depth of these interviews that MS does?
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:34pm Caryn:

Yep, but not during the WFMU Marathon!
Avatar    Sat. 3/16/13 12:36pm KP:

Me neither!

it is indeed Clarence White and fellow Byrd Gene (not Gram) Parsons is also on it.
Avatar    Sat. 3/16/13 12:47pm KP:

Caryn, monday i go back to work. Ive been on vacation. It's costing me a fortune.
Avatar    Sat. 3/16/13 12:48pm KP:

Nine thousand for a two-hour show!!! Totally unrealistic but so is everything about WFMU!
Avatar Sat. 3/16/13 12:48pm Caryn:

@KP: the only advantage to being unemployed is the chance to listen to the Marathon all the time. Easy to do online job hunting at the same time.
Avatar    Sat. 3/16/13 12:50pm KP:

Well, in a almost serious vein, i work nights and commute. I find WFMU a great friend in those wee hours. That's why im happy to be here.
