Good morning Mr. Berger! Haven't listened to your show in real time in awhile, but glad to be now.

Hello William and listeners
Avatar    Fri. 3/1/13 1:26am Rory:

Who wouldn't be depressed living in the Middle East. That region is a mess!
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 1:45am ausmanx:

i'd be far more depressed living in the US of A...
  Fri. 3/1/13 1:51am mick:

of course you would, ausmanx
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 1:55am Wm.:

Let us NOT get that tired argument going again, please. All parts of the globe are troubled and depressed. Quality of life is relative to one's expected situation. I don't think any of us could question that playing black metal anywhere in the Middle East shows extreme dedication....
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 1:59am ausmanx:

yes, "anywhere in the Middle East"; it is all the same, after all
Avatar    Fri. 3/1/13 2:00am Rory:

Wm., Yeah playing any type of metal can result in death over there.
Avatar    Fri. 3/1/13 2:01am fred:

What would make me really depressed is not having access to the station
Avatar    Fri. 3/1/13 2:03am Rory:

I'm kinda new to mid east metal. I do know Sorg Innkallelse and couple of others.
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 2:03am William:

Don't get defensive, or attack my word usage, c'mon—I'm trying to back you up, here. I'm aware that playing metal music in Turkey, or perhaps Jordan, is more freer than in other countries. I do not consider the Middle East all the same place, not at all! No need to be on the defensive.
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 2:13am Pete from Boston (and NJ):

I celebrate being free to make assertions about metal or anything else that are wrong and can be corrected, disputed, and discussed so that learning can happen, ideally on all sides.
Avatar    Fri. 3/1/13 2:14am Rory:

I should have never made that comment.
Avatar    Fri. 3/1/13 2:15am fred:

I like tapes, but I agree that finding a track is a chore. Tanzprocesz does it right, when a tape is sold out, he (eventually) uploads the tracks on the FMA, which solves the cueing problem
  Fri. 3/1/13 2:16am mick:

rory, hehe.....
i was thinking the same thing about mine.
Avatar    Fri. 3/1/13 2:16am Rory:

T.O.M.B.!!!!
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 2:23am Wm.:

The Israeli Army and their leaders are equally at fault, but at this point, nothing is more important than PEACE. With warring minds at the forefront, all we will ever have is unrest and war in the Middle East. An investment in peace MUST be made.Obviously, the trend of the last several centuries has not brought a positive result. I would love to visit the Middle East, but not at the possible cost of my son being an orphan.
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 2:31am ausmanx:

goodness, the propaganda's really working over there, isn't it?
Avatar    Fri. 3/1/13 2:33am Rory:

Epic track!!! Thanks for the show.
Avatar    Fri. 3/1/13 2:34am fred:

Apart from war zones, visiting the Middle East isn't particularly dangerous, according to well traveled friends. Iran doesn't seem to a problem, even with a US passport; you'd be much more likely to be jailed in Saudi Arabia, or Israel. If you were female, the story would be a bit different
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 2:37am Wm.:

A call for PEACE is propaganda? With a clear statement that all parties are at fault? We could debate this forever, and many have. I will not. You obviously want to keep the FIGHT going, so WAR ON, brother!
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 2:45am Pine:

Speaking of war I haven't been commenting because I'm addicted to MMO Bomberman at the minute.
Yes its as good as it sounds 1000+ players, search for bombermine.
Peace :)
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 2:48am ausmanx:

william, i think anyone reading this thread would say that your messages are the aggressive ones. it is neither "defensive" nor hostile to merely point out a few absurdities, like generalising about the Middle East. to state that your son is likely to become an orphan if you merely visit "the Middle East" is an appalling thing to say. the propaganda tells you that "the Middle East" is a dangerous place and that Arabs are violent. you appear to have swallowed that hook line and sinker. i visit there (and the US) many times, and what fred says is correct. i merely wish to put a stop to ignorant and intolerant comments, which is actually the only way we're really going to achieve peace
  Fri. 3/1/13 2:50am Rory:

This show doesn't deserve bullshit comments!
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 2:58am Wm.:

Ausmanx - I see the Middle East as a set of separate countries, each with a different political climate. I fail to see how my comments could be construed as "aggressive." You seem to want to argue, and I don't. I do not watch or listen to Fox News, or any other clearly biased news outlet. The Middle East's major cities, they are NOT dangerous? Suicide bombers do not exist? Ok, then. You assume that I accept the force-fed media messages that we have over here, and I wholeheartedly do not. I have lost friends on several online communities, simply when the individual found out that I was American, they assumed that I swallowed whole everything that I was fed by newsmedia here, and/or that I (horrors!) supported the Neo-Con administration. You tell me where the bias lies....
  Fri. 3/1/13 3:00am Rory:

Wm. please just delete all this nonsense
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 3:02am Wm.:

Ah, it's ok ... let the readers judge as they will.
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 3:10am ausmanx:

amen
  Fri. 3/1/13 6:04am Arvo:

Damnit, I missed it and the archive is not up yet. Looks Killer! You should keep the image super big!
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 3:02pm dw:

I'll have to investigate Spirit, I always wondered about that band. The Draugar/Black Cilice and Raw Nerve/Shaved Women punches were tight last night! Gotta get that T.O.M.B. split!!
Avatar Fri. 3/1/13 3:04pm dw:

Dragged Into Sunlight too! So many great cuts!

Can I make a request for SOD's "Fuck the Middle East"?
