Hya, Miss Mon. A quick check-in before I report to the kitchen. We're slowly getting Christmas together here at Chez Parq, and hope you and all your listeners are doing the same with the winter-solstice-related traditions of your choice.

@ G : it's 01.24am, it's ok, i'm just working a bit, and then to bed.
I love listening to WFMU late at night, it's always shows that I (not often) hear live. :)
Avatar    Sun. 12/16/12 7:26pm monica:

hello to you, PMD!...Catsilk, wrap it up, girl and thanks...david - indeed.....
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:27pm david:

I'm getting maximal gif-ronicity with this Mike Simonetti
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:27pm G:

@pierre: Sounds good, I too have probably listened to something during every one of the 24 hours, my time (same as FMU time), at some point or other...
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:28pm Roy Boy:

If you are but a vessel, if am but a passenger.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:29pm G:

I always thought "I am but a vessel" meant vessel/container, not vessel/ship. But who knows!
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:29pm Roy Boy:

That's I am, stupid alcohol!
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:30pm Johnny Gato:

It's an unsophisticated reference, but this brings to mind "Wicked Game" by Chris Issac
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:31pm pierre:

WFMU around the clock's the best !
But at some point I have to sleep.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:32pm G:

Yep!
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:33pm david:

for that reason I wish I was one of those people who could fall asleep to music... I can only imagine the dreams I would have with FMU in my subvonscious...
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:36pm Jay S:

Not "American in Paris" - "Singing in the Rain."
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:36pm Johnny Gato:

OMG I didn't know that's how you pronounce "Apache dance," I hope I've never said it outloud anywhere, what a rube I would have seemed like. Because I am.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:36pm david:

gotta get my emerald green meggings...
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:38pm G:

@Jay: Kelly 1951 vs. Kelly 1952, easy to blend those two...
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:38pm sugarwolf:

I hated 2012's color, I much prefer emerald.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:38pm Johnny Gato:

Re: Emerald green: well, the new Oz movie w/ James Franco is coming...
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:39pm pierre:

@ david : I had some once or twice, it was something.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:40pm Roy Boy:

Just learned Cyd Charisse's birth name was Tula Ellice Finklea.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:40pm david:

Hamp! We lost him a decade ago, already...
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:41pm Tom T:

For us pale Irish folk, irony is that the "wearing of the green" makes you look even more like you are ready to be nauseous than normal.
Sun. 12/16/12 7:41pm Derek in DC:

I've been away from design too long. I don't know my Pantone numbers any more (except PMS 5545 which I used to use all the time).
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:41pm Parq:

I am displaced from the kitchen. The daughter is making gingerbread. (Dig that, Norman Rockwell.) Instead I am assembling the new coatrack-umbrella-stand. Think every Alan-Sherman-type riff on Easy Assembly Instructions you've ever heard.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:43pm david:

emerald reminds me of "kiss me I'm Irish."
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:44pm Jay S:

@G - I hear you. Mind-boggling sequence whatever movie it's in.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:45pm Roy Boy:

My son used to run around on his tip toes to Sabre Dance which he called "excavator music."
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:49pm Listener Schned:

Looks like Cyd got the Pantone memo-
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:50pm Andrew Waterloo:

I did lots of baking today
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:52pm pierre:

@ G : by the, i'm pretty amazed by your use of the word "vachement" ! I think you're the first english person I know, that i heard using it.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:52pm Brian:

Allah-Las track lovely.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:53pm efd:

Enjoying hour #1, Monica! I thought I'd checked out this Allah-Las album but I don't remember this cool instro track - to be rectified in the new year.
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:55pm david:

this lonnie holley is hittin me in all the right ways.
Avatar    Sun. 12/16/12 7:59pm monica:

Hello, Jay S!...You Too, Derek In DC... And Tom T....S'wolf, Johnny Gato in the casa....
  Sun. 12/16/12 7:59pm G:

I picked up most of my French slang from watching US movies on French tv with French subtitles.

For example, I believe I picked up "arrêt de faire la connerie!" (stop f'ing around) off the subtitles of The Breakfast Club :-)
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:00pm CB1:

G - Well, Mo is a cup of music that takes you somewhere - so she's both.
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:01pm listener gary:

good evening to dj monica. listening quietly.
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:02pm pierre:

great one G ! pretty useful amongst us french.

(I think your pronunciation should be perfect, but i might think it could be either "arrête tes conneries" or "arrête de déconner", no ?)
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:08pm tr-ish:

An exhale set to music.
Followed by more music inward.
Ah.
Avatar    Sun. 12/16/12 8:10pm monica:

Jay S. - thanks for the correction. oy, can't believe i got that one wrong,...
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:16pm G:

@pierre: That was probably the hardass detention teacher talking to the students, so the French subtitler used a formal locution (not "tes"). I wrote it down right off the screen before I could forget it :-) Your options are more informal, yes?
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:20pm pierre:

@ G : It makes sense !! haha… yes mine were really straight from what I would say. But yes, you are right, it's more than totally probable.
Avatar    Sun. 12/16/12 8:21pm monica:

CB Uno - you take nme places too!!...hey there, tr-ish! and listener gary!
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:22pm slugluv1313:

  Sun. 12/16/12 8:23pm Roy Boy:

I remember them playing this before RHPS in Philly.
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:25pm Roy Boy:

That and "Paradise Before the Dashboard Light." Before Meatloaf started shilling for Mitt Romney.
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:26pm deanland:

Checking in better late than never. Just got in. This Tim Curry piano
chord progression sounds eerily like Wheewolves of London
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:26pm sugarwolf:

raymond massey!

lassie!!
Avatar    Sun. 12/16/12 8:27pm monica:

deanland - welcome! and it sures does.... s'wolf, can you believe comden & green. so great....
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:30pm Parq:

Great set! Dug Judy, digging Hyman, couldn't help during Curry but think about how everybody mistook Jemaine Clement for Tim in MIB3.
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:31pm Andrew Waterloo:

I love the perplexed look people give me when I tell them Dick Hyman is one of the greatest piano players ever
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:32pm sugarwolf:

On a message board I frequent, there is one poster who has been an inveterate name dropper for a decade. I always think of Drop That Name when I read her posts.
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:33pm sweet cheri:

sorry i'm late monica,, but happy holidays!!! hope you have fun!
  Sun. 12/16/12 8:38pm G:

Endcapping-for-pay is still standard in grocery and other retail stores....
