hi, Diane! Flash stream is not so hot.
  12:13pm
Cecile:

  12:21pm
tim from champaign:

You big gorilla!
  12:21pm
Jim Devoid:

Hey All! Our site was a little wobbly in the beginning of the program, I think it's OK now! Peer Pressure guest today = MIKE SOSA, drummer for Mad Parade (SoCal 80's punk-still playing) and RedOnStrike (current too) Bring the questions and thanks for tuning in!
  12:30pm
Cecile:

sounds good now.
  12:33pm
HEAT:

HEYYY EVERYBODY!
  12:35pm
dubinator:

  12:39pm
Cecile:

I feel old. I just stumbled across an article calling New Found Glory "godfathers of pop-punk." IF YOU'RE 11...
  12:41pm
Cecile:

ye gods.
  12:41pm
dubinator:

I think the vibe of this show is calling for a tune with Diane on drums.
  12:42pm
Cecile:

dubs, I think you are right.
  12:44pm
tim from champaign:

"If you're 11" hee hee hee
  12:45pm
Cecile:

dr. butcher were a good metal side project as well.
  12:50pm
Cecile:

are the Kryptonics from Australia?
  12:51pm
Cecile:

Yup.
I think it's the heavy guitars and super-clean vocals. They sound like baby Hoodoo Gurus.
  12:52pm
Cecile:

who were from Perth, too.
  12:54pm
Cecile:

well, some of their members were...
  1:08pm
Cecile:

not in the midwest, Mike Sosa.
Poison still sells out shows here.
  1:08pm
Cecile:

diane, they were a good rockabilly/blues band. Big in Ann Arbor, too.
  1:10pm
Mike East:

ugh, SNL, I'm having some serious issues with them right now. If the musical performance is effed up this weekend, its NOT my fault.
  1:11pm
ScottC:

Back in the day (80' to 83') I work security at all the clubs in SF and when the LA bands came up we knew we were in for it that night. The hall would get infected with this vibe - skirmishes-slugfests. We once shut down 10th st when a brawl spilled out of 10th Street Hall ( rainy night - low attendence - guy keeps grabbing the mic cord) - I grab him to throw him out - all hell breaks loose. next thing I know we are in the middle of the street SF vs LA punks. Chains swinging. A good time was had by all...
  1:19pm
Cecile:

a night to remember, scott c. Sounds nuts.
  1:21pm
Jim Idol:

music that makes me wanna pomp my hair
  1:22pm
SteveL:

Where the hell is my skinny tie? (I miss it.)
  1:24pm
Cecile:

I need to be wearing a boatneck tee with horizontal stripes.
  1:25pm
Jim Idol:

The Vindictives do an AMAZING punk cover of Turning Japanese on the Partytime for Assholes 10"
  1:28pm
ScottC:

willing to sell rights to the book if I ever get it written...
  1:29pm
SteveL:

DEVO on SNL was jaw-dropping. Watching with a room full of friends. Speechless. (Thought it might be a put on, but the encore convinced us they were 'real"
  1:29pm
Cecile:

you gotta write it, Scott.
  1:30pm
Cecile:

SteveL, I was both fascinated and completely frightened when I saw them. Later on, I figured it all out and reckoned it was brilliant. Like the Sun Ra performance, too.
  1:30pm
Jim Idol:

i am sensing some NIKKI and the CORVETTES
  1:31pm
pierre:

Bonjour Diane !
  1:33pm
SteveL:

Cecile: I was completely uninformed when I saw Sun Ra live in Madison, circa 83-84. Baffling, but it was a time when anyone had the right to take the stage. If you didn't like it, you could go get another beer.
  1:35pm
Cecile:

exactly! ha!
  1:43pm
Cecile:

flash stream is dead.
  1:45pm
Jim Idol:

I am using the flash stream..it's working for me..
  1:46pm
Cecile:

could still be our inhouse internet
  1:47pm
Jim Idol:

better than outhouse internet..
  1:48pm
Mike East:

flash was giving me issues earlier, but I rebooted a few times and it seems ok now.
  1:48pm
Cecile:

it's acting like outhouse internet if you know what I mean...
  1:51pm
Husband Man:

Big up to all the volunteers, ESPECIALLY Quinn!
  2:10pm
tim from champaign:

Billy Zoom is the coolest looking guitarist ever.
  2:15pm

  2:27pm

  2:32pm
slugluv1313:

X!!!!!!!! saw them here in NYC around that time (1980, i think? at a club called "The 80s," if i remember correctly) and was TOTALLY blown away! and YES!!! BILLY ZOOM incredible and with that wonderfully HAPPY presence and EXENE wearing this amazingly audacious ULTRA-PURPLE fringed, suede jacket, at a time when one just did NOT wear "hippie" stuff like that (ha ha! the über-"cool" NYC audience just did NOT know how to react!)
  2:39pm
BrianJ:

Hey Mike bring me a burrito!
  2:42pm
Cecile:

Soc Dis did start with makeup and berets 'n' stuff.
  2:49pm
Cecile:

  3:00pm
slugluv1313:
