I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

  Fri. 11/30/12 12:15pm G:

nice segue from scott's last track...
Avatar Fri. 11/30/12 12:16pm bryce:

never know which way scott's gonna steer the ship...
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:16pm BSI:

Pierre: that procedure takes at least three hands! Thou art super-human!
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:17pm DCE:

well, he could be using his teeth to open the bottle, and his toes to type...thus requiring no hands. But I agree, that is still super-human!
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:18pm pierre:

@BSI : I must say, it is beer in a can, therefore one hand's typing, while the other's openning. But then i'm using both hands to pour the beverage in a glass, as it must always be done.
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:18pm G:

yeah, scott puts the "c" *and* the "t" in eclectic...
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:23pm DCE:

gotdamn that's some nice pickin'
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:28pm Mike East:

really digging this track. I got nervous for a minute that I was listening to Irene's show and this whole week had been a hallucination.
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:29pm ERD:

Got any of that Sandy Bull thing where he talks to the drum machine?
Avatar Fri. 11/30/12 12:31pm bryce:

hahaa rhythm ace!
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:34pm ERD:

I like how he treated Rhythm Ace like a real person. If Sandy wouldn't have died in 2001, he would have been totally set when the robots take over.
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:36pm ERD:

(take note Metzger!!!!! !!! !!)
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:41pm pierre:

"Rasho Bobbie", would be a cool name
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:51pm Cheri Pi:

Damn Bryce, this is your "Bitches Brew" show..
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:52pm Cheri Pi:

Let's talk about lunch, I just had a delicious Vietnamese vermicelli noodle dish w/ tofu, as well as a vegetarian Banh Mi sandwich. I am so gastronomically pleased tight now. I just wish I could drink beer in my cubicle at this very moment.
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:53pm DCE:

5th day in a row of spinach/tortellini soup. I grow weary.
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:54pm DCE:

we are getting a new Thai restaurant right down the street from my house soon. also, KFC (where I held my very first employment) is being converted to Chipotle. Not that I'll ever go THERE.
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:55pm Husband Man:

I just had a peanut butter and honey sandwich. I have had two a day off and on for most of my life. I can drink beer in my office, but I think I'll hold off.
Fri. 11/30/12 12:55pm tim from champaign:

Cheri - Sounds great. there's a Vietnamese joint in my town that also offers veggie style Viet dishes including veggie pho on the weekend. The owner also has a ramen shop a few blocks away from where I work. Fresh ramen now comes with all the dishes.
Fri. 11/30/12 12:57pm tim from champaign:

Tonight I'm going to make couscous with sauteed veggies, fried tofu and kim chi. I'm not sure if it will work but sounds good to me now.
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:58pm DCE:

(Joe Morris track was an absolute inspiration)
  Fri. 11/30/12 12:59pm Marmalade Kitty:

@Pierre; It's wise not to take too many chances near the keyboard! Thats why I cover mine with cellophane wrap ;)
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:01pm Cheri Pi:

Oh how I'd love a ramen shop here with veggie options, here's an article you may find amusing from my homeland targeting lady ramen lovers.: http://blog.japantimes.co.jp/japan-pulse/new-style-ramen-targets-female-noodle-lovers/
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:02pm pierre:

@ MK : I hear you, that's some good advice. Fortunately, I have a desk and (sort of) drinking station, where I come and go by rolling on the floor on my desk chair. Which is practical and fun !

And for diner, I'm consedering home made tomato sauce and pastas.
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:02pm Marmalade Kitty:

  Fri. 11/30/12 1:05pm northguineahills:

Ughh, I haven't been to the grocer's in nearly 3 weeks (was gone for a week). I don't even have udon (which I crave right now). I have some refried beans, an egg and some suspiciously old tortillas. oh, and some potatoes that have sprouted eyes. I guess I'm going to the store after my appointment in an hour.
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:05pm Marmalade Kitty:

Mmm! Pierre :)
Fri. 11/30/12 1:08pm tim from champaign:

Cheri - that is amusing. Those soups wouldn't appeal to my carnivorous wife. She likes her ramen with lots o pork and beef out of a steaming styrofoam cup.
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:11pm Cheri Pi:

She's the real deal Tim!!
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:12pm Marmalade Kitty:

drink! drink! wherever you maybe!
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:21pm Mike East:

I made a fantastic minestrone last week with the turkey stock I made from thanksgiving. Lots of veggies. Also started it with some pancetta and jamon serrano, though. Frying up some tofu this weekend sounds like a good idea.
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:26pm northguineahills:

Stop talking about food until I go to the store! I'm already hungry!
Fri. 11/30/12 1:26pm Keepin' It Real:

"veggies" is baby talk :)
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:34pm dcp@:

I hear you Cheri π -- I eat miso soup with noodles almost every morning made with a veggie dashi: porcini mushrooms+kombu. You can't find good veggie noodles out though...
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:41pm DCE:

oh flash where u go now girl?
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:45pm Cheri Pi:

that' sounds delish dcp@!

  Fri. 11/30/12 1:53pm Loren:

  Fri. 11/30/12 1:54pm DCE:

gotta have a nice hot caffeinated beverage with strudel, still b/p; it's the law.
  Fri. 11/30/12 1:57pm dcp@:

I make a batch of dashi and freeze it in cup portions with tofu and green onion in it. So I thaw in the microwave, cook up some ramen or whatever, add some miso, and watakshi wa inu des!

  Fri. 11/30/12 2:01pm amEdeo:

Oh jeez the people downstairs are playing the James Bond theme on their piano and I'm running out of beans upstairs.
Fri. 11/30/12 2:01pm tim from champaign:

Ramen for breakfast sounds so great. I'm going to try that this upcoming week. A number of Chinese restaurants around town have been making their authentic menus available to the general public. I've been totally digging mala dishes - dry spiced dishes with szechwan peppercorns.
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:01pm Cheri Pi:

good idea, I always make veggie stock to freeze, must try your method this weekend.
Avatar Fri. 11/30/12 2:03pm bryce:

there is a hidden connection in all things, amEdeo
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:03pm dcp@:

make the dashi like fish version but when you take the kombu out, cook the porcinis for a while. It ain't no bonito dashi but it works.
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:03pm dcp@:

..I feel like I've said too much...
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:06pm amEdeo:

If I reenact scenes from "Goldfinger" using my remaining beans, will the people downstairs go out and get groceries for me?
Avatar Fri. 11/30/12 2:06pm bryce:

you can never say too much about umami
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:07pm amEdeo:

Or is the truth far more heinous and legume-filled?
Avatar Fri. 11/30/12 2:07pm bryce:

i just think that piano has too few beans
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:10pm amEdeo:

Oh I can fix that. Just like me to overcomplicate things with bean reenactment. All I need is something to distract them with.

We are going to have a new plower this winter. He is a black belt in karate. He is also one of the instructors at my daughter's karate studio. She is testing for her own black belt this weekend. I need to take down the clothesline ropes so he can have a clear path to push the snow. I also need to move our little cargo trailer to the back of the yard. I also need to finish building an outdoor pen for our roosters. They are fine in the garage pen I have for them but I am sure they would like to be outside to get some sun at times. How is that for a non food comment posting and stream of consciousness writing?
Avatar Fri. 11/30/12 2:14pm bryce:

that was very good!
Avatar Fri. 11/30/12 2:16pm bryce:

it still made me think about food though

Oh that was me. Hey there, Swan Lake.
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:19pm βrian:

The dog's tail wags; what of the cow's?
Fri. 11/30/12 2:23pm green mountain man mark:

I got a guinea hen a couple of weeks ago from a coworker. I was planning on cooking it for a party. I had never experienced a guinea hen before. It turns out they are very fats and wild like. Not like chickens at all. Chickens will usually let you pick them up and be slow. The guinea took off as soon as I opened the cage and it flew off. I tried to chase it but failed to catch it. I called neighbors and let them know to be on the look out for a guinea hen. Nobody has reported back to me about a sighting. Someone may have found it and cooked it. Or a skunk may have attacked it.
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:25pm Guinea Hen:

Better than the chopping block and the pot. With a skunk I have a fighting chance :)
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:28pm Jeff:

When the cow's tail rises, you don't want to be too near.
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:28pm Cow:

Fri. 11/30/12 2:30pm green mountain man mark:

One time, early in the morning, say 3am, I happened to be awake and downstairs in our living room. I heard the two roosters in the garage making quite the fuss and clucking as if being plucked alive. I went out there and guess what I saw? A skunk was in there and walking around. I don't think the skunk even knew about the chickens. But the chickens sure knew about the skunk.
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:31pm βrian:

One doesn't need to teach a skunk to suck eggs.
  Fri. 11/30/12 2:32pm Guinea Hen:

Are the chickens still alive?

Yes? Point proven.

I like to get raw milk from local farms. Jersey cow milk is my preference. Sometimes I get goats milk. It is not as easy as it should be to get raw milk. Now the farm I have been getting the milk from has decided not to do it. Yesterday I drove about 12 miles away to get a couple of gallons of raw Jersey cow milk. Whilst there I noticed a little sign on the table you where you pay (the honor system kind of paying where the farmer is not around) that said bulk milk deal 4 gallons for $15. Ask Bob first. Next time I go I will be asking Bob about this bulk milk deal.

Yes. I can go to any grocery store and find/buy raw chickens and many other raw meats but can't get raw milk. The FDA trusts people to be able to understand how to cook raw meat properly but for another reason it thinks that raw milk is way beyond the ability of citizens to handle safely.

Fri. 11/30/12 3:00pm green mountain man mark:

You can cook the milk by boiling it and make cheeses. Or drink it raw. The same freedom you may have when buying raw hamburger meat. Cook it or eat it raw.
