Bonjour Pierre! Hamburger needs more condiments!
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:06am Chuck:

Interesting that many of Dave's themes are food related. Hungry, Dave?
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:07am Dave B:

I was thinking that myself, Chuck. Just a coincidence. Honest!
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:08am Dave B:

That opening trombone was the broccoli.
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:09am Bob:

We can expect plenty of wind instruments today..?
Sorry...
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:12am Chuck:

Question is which vegetable goes best with beer?
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:13am hamburger:

sorry not related, but this shirt picture is so coo! http://bit.ly/QeSVXb
Thu. 10/11/12 6:14am fred von helsing:

Lettuce, turnup and pea!
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:20am Dave E.:

Coffee is rat turds,
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:21am Chuck:

The average human consumes about a pound of dirt in their lifetime. I, of course, surpassed that mark years ago....(not intentionally!)
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:23am Dave E.:

I love potatoes chopped up into chunky chips.
I love spicy potato wedges, served up with dips.
I love potato slices which have been fried in a pan:
Of sautéed potatoes, I am the world's biggest fan.
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:24am cosmic:

Morning. Thanks for making me hungry thinking about vegetables.
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:24am Dave E.:

With breakfast, I love hash browns or potato cakes,
And I love potatoes mixed up with leeks in a bake.
Crispy, golden potatoes, served up with Sunday roast
Are among the kinds of potato which I love the most.
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:25am hamburger:

mmm hash browns - seem like a lot of effort tho
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:26am Dave E.:

  Thu. 10/11/12 6:26am Dave B:

Ask Dan Quayle
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:27am Chuck:

Avatar Thu. 10/11/12 6:28am Meghan:

Remember- highest pledger gets to pick the next theme and if I make $3000 you get to pick out the songs and come on air with me (if you are around.... or we could skype you in!)

  Thu. 10/11/12 6:31am hamburger:

all rush would make for a good april fool's surprise
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:31am pierre:

i've just realise that potatoe is a very popular vegetable, a LOT of song will have it as a theme or a metaphore; potatoes has always been cheap, therefore, popular.
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:33am Dave E.:

Doesn't Rush have a song about potatoes?
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:36am Dave E.:

I think its "Closer to the potato"
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:39am Bob:

The song is wrong... NOBODY says 'po-tah-to'..!
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:39am Chuck:

If you put the potato salad in the Bass-O-Matic you could make it a liquid!

Avatar Thu. 10/11/12 6:46am Meghan:

Highest pledger gets to pick out theme, if I make $3000 highest pledger gets to pick out music and/or come on air with me, and lastly.... $5000 it becomes an all RUSH show. yes..... I guess I love torturing myself.
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:47am Chuck:

That's actually a pretty good idea, hamburger...
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:48am Dave E.:

I always eat peas with honey,
I’ve done it all my life,
They do taste kind of funny,
But it keeps them on the knife.
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:48am Dave B:

I hate Lima Beans. To chalky on the inside.
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:50am Dave E.:

Sex is good, but not as good as fresh, sweet corn.
- Garrison Keillor
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:50am pierre:

@Hamburger (of course) i like your idea !
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:51am Dave E.:

@ Dave B. I agree, not anywhere as good as Rush!
Avatar Thu. 10/11/12 6:52am Meghan:

Oh I would say they are equally awful
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:52am Dave E.:

Rush is the vegetables of the ears.
  Thu. 10/11/12 6:53am Dave B:

  Thu. 10/11/12 7:59am Chuck:

Well, I only managed to move the bar slightly. But there you go...
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:00am pierre:

In France we had a crazy child (but not only) program called Telechat, and sometimes it would feature the weirdest characters like LEGUMAN for example

http://alconis.com/dotclear/images/article/leguman3.jpg

which is the appropriate super-hero for that playlist !
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:03am Chuck:

Sounds revolting...

eggplant is great on the grill, esp if you cut off the skin after it's cooked
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:09am Elwyn:

I want to see:
* kale that resembles John Cale
* an eggplant that resembles the face of Robert Plant
etc.
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:10am jeff p:

The thing about kale is, you start with this big, huge bundle, and the moment you cook it it shrinks to about 1% of its original size. Why bother?
Thu. 10/11/12 8:11am Brian in UK:

This combines veg & flowers
http://www.rivercottage.net/recipes/stuffed-courgette-flowers/
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:13am Dave B:

Same with collard greens. And ya have to cook the shit out of 'em, otherwise its like eating lawn clippings
Thu. 10/11/12 8:13am Dirty Old Man:

Ya, Baby, Rev. Payton
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:14am northguineahills:

But collard greens are dern tasty!
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:16am jeff p:

collard greens and kale are tasty the way grits are tasty... if you cover them with a bunch of stuff that actually tastes good
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:17am Dave B:

Like a pork chop
Avatar Thu. 10/11/12 8:17am Meghan:

  Thu. 10/11/12 8:20am northguineahills:

Nah, I actually can eat collard tips raw. Heck, I even make vegetarian cooked collard greens (my gf is a veggie). I just like vegetables, always have. I usually don't mix my meat w/ my veggies (w/ some notable exceptions).

Avatar Thu. 10/11/12 8:41am Meghan:

cheri.... do you like kale?
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:41am Cheri Pi:

I had natto for the first time this summer in Japan, I could handle it as long as I mixed it with pickles and miso.
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:42am northguineahills:

I love kimchi, but my gf hates it when I bring it home.
Natto, definitely an acquired taste.

I'm a fully recovered vegetarian. I took a 12-step program.

For the record, I like kale, i just don't seek it.
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:42am Cheri Pi:

Jeff P: you haven't lived until you've eaten a bowl of kale chips while listening to "Working Man".
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:51am northguineahills:

The lowly crappy vender-cart hotdog was my gateway "meat". I was tired of eating nothing but falafel everyday when I was in grad school on the upper east side, b/c all other veggie opportunities were rather pricey. fast-forward a dozen years, and I love my veggies raw, cooked or however, and I love my meats...
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:52am jeff p:

I'd sooner DIE than soil a great song like that....
  Thu. 10/11/12 8:53am PKNY:
