Hi, Irene!
Opening with Nico--wonderfull. Beautiful song, for a beautifull autumn day, here in the NYC area
  Mon. 9/24/12 12:14pm kat330:

A perk of this chilly autumn morning in southern Indiana is warming up the house with big pots simmering on the burners and oven roasting -- all the things put on hold during a blistering hot summer.
  Mon. 9/24/12 12:19pm notes:

"It Was a Pleasure Then" - Chelsea Girl - Verve - 1967

  Mon. 9/24/12 12:28pm kat330:

Hi, Mike! Two different recipes of lentils/split peas. Neglected to mention the other big perk of back-to-full-on-cooking: The lovely aroma filling the house. :)
  Mon. 9/24/12 12:29pm DCE:

that's a lot of beans--you feeding wayward college kids or has the militia commanded quarter of your home?
  Mon. 9/24/12 12:29pm kat330:

  Mon. 9/24/12 12:30pm kat330:

@DCE: Heh! Well, I'm a committed conservationist -- maybe a conservationist who should be committed -- so I try to make large amounts at the beginning of the week to use and/or freeze throughout.

Kat, that is so funny,
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:04pm kat330:

Wigwam! Finland in the house (Philo will have to catch the archive -- one of his faves).
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:06pm kat330:

@Sean: You Brits did a bang-up job of the Olympics, and you and Irene are doing a bang-up job here today. :)
Avatar Mon. 9/24/12 2:08pm Irene:

That's sweet, Kat!
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:16pm kat330:

I did not know Wigwam when they came out. Philo put a couple of their tracks, along with several from Jim Pembroke solo, on a mix tape he sent me in the late '90s. Quite like several of Pembroke's songs.
Mon. 9/24/12 2:19pm Bob from Miami:

Thanks Irene for that beautiful Fairport track..
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:24pm frenchee:

Nice commentary betw. Sean and Irene on this show! Thanks for dredging up Ordinaires memories for this old-timer.
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:27pm baggins:

This is "The Stranger" by Billy Joel. What the?
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:30pm Ringo:

It won't be long 'til this song is in a bank commercial..... sh*t, nevermind.
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:32pm dinatekno:

I agree with frenchee!! Fantastic set & commentary (as usual). Just FYI - Those of us in the 5th decade of life remember Siouxie & the Banshees. Budgie is one of my favorite drummers ever! They occupy hefty space in my iPod!
Avatar Mon. 9/24/12 2:32pm Irene:

Hadda play that Paulie track in full because it's been driving me nuts to hear it on the TV commercial!
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:33pm kat330:

ISB according to wiki: "are musical pioneers in psych folk" -- a genre I had not heard of. Like the name Licorice.
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:33pm Andrew Waterloo:

I felt bad about making it to my forth decade not knowing that Robert Smith was a Banshee
Mon. 9/24/12 2:34pm Bob from Miami:

Ahhhh Robin, Mike and the ISB.Great show Irene...
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:35pm kat330:

Ah, now I understand it: psychEDELIC folk.
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:39pm frenchee:

dinatekno, "those of us" are *technically* in our sixth decade. SOB
  Mon. 9/24/12 2:40pm kat330:

Wow, another (Tom Rapp) I only found decades after the fact and from a Finn. We will play your archive at dinner tonight (turkey tikka masala and curry dal ;).
Mon. 9/24/12 2:41pm Sean in Bristol, UK:

I love how the chat has gone over to age, 52 for me this coming Sunday!
