That's it for another edition of The Dusty Show everyone, I hope you enjoyed The E-23 as much as I did. I really like the records that I found. It is an area I wasn't very familiar with, so it's nice to get a little crash course. Continuing mentions of Occupy coverage, or a lack thereof. I will try to remedy. I feel guilty about it, but I needed to re-align myself this summer and enjoy it a bit. I suppose that sounds lame. If you were immersed in the movement, you know you have to back out now and then or it gets "too heavy, man." Have to run. Very late and we have to log these shows for artist royalties, which I don't mind doing. Lord knows they deserve them. Don't forget THE DUEL coming up next Thurs. at 4:30. Clay Pigeon vs. Fabio. Winner-take-all. May the best man win. I'll be keeping score to make sure everything is fair and on the up-and-up. OK. I'm gone! Take care and .... write me: dusty@wfmu.org. Can't buy an email lately. Yesterday's news, old Clay Pigeon. ha! OK ... Always remember. Clay NYC82412 |

Thu. 8/23/12 6:17pm
Matt from Springfield:

Thu. 8/23/12 6:19pm
kat330:
Shoot, Matt, I've forgotten to ask and I believe you said that before: YOUR month/day por favor?
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:19pm
Philo Gristle:
But guess Ed "Rat Fink" Roth kinda used that already. Big daddy.

Matt from Springfield:
@glenn: Just once, back on Fabio's board. But ID theft has lasting consequences (particularly if you forget to change back your moniker...)
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:22pm
dave:

Thu. 8/23/12 6:22pm
Real Cecile:

Thu. 8/23/12 6:23pm
kat330:
Speaking of fools, I've noticed that The Prisoner #6 may often get foiled, but he rarely (never?) gets fooled.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:23pm
Matt from Springfield:
Omnipresent Danne! :) | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:24pm
Mark in VT:
Ryan is not too far off from the smack down champion president in the movie Idiocracy from Mike Judge
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:25pm
kat330:
@dave: Must be since Rage Against the Machine is Ryan's go-to.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:26pm
Danne D:
Omnipresent Matt! :) | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:26pm
Clay:
Cecile still hanging out. Nice! Must be the music. Hello Mark in Vermont. I love it up there. Bought a $100 guitar in Putney, boyhood home of photographer David Plowden.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:26pm
kat330:
Hey, Mr. Duckwater! | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:26pm
Danne D:
That "HEAH" of McCain's is pretty funny, HEAH?
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:27pm
dale:
creepy when mccain says 'EH?' so many of my fb friends are republicans and scared of obama. don't get it.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:27pm
dale:
oh, danne's spelling - HEAH? - is much better
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:28pm
Clay:
Over Hill, Over Dale! Good to see you, sir.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:28pm
Matt from Springfield:
@Mark: Though I don't quite get the "Comancho" vibe from Ryan--if anything, actor Adam Scott (from Parks & Rec) seems perfect to portray Ryan in an HBO film of the election. In fact...Rob Lowe would be the perfect Romney! AND, Rob Lowe and Adam Scott both entered Parks & Rec at the same time, as a team!
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:29pm
Real Cecile:
well, I gotta go, Clay. Bus awaits. Have a great weekend, everyone.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:29pm
Matt from Springfield:
@Danne: I mentioned to Clay how that soundbite is never going to die on this show--any mention of McCain, even 4 years later, and it always comes out!
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:29pm
kat330:
Night shows made great use of McCain's "eh?", interspersing a clip of that with Burgess Meredith's Penguin from TV's "Batman."
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:30pm
Clay:
Thanks for hanging out, Cecile. Come back for the duel.
|

Thu. 8/23/12 6:30pm
Matt from Springfield:
Later Cecile! | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:31pm
Clay:
Matt. I never tire of the "eh" byte.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:31pm
Danne D:
LOL Matt - that and the explosion sound effect ;) McCain was channeling his inner Burgess Meredith there. HEAH?
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:31pm
Clay:
Other David, I know you're out there. Hello.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:31pm
Mark in VT:
I heard a voicemail greeting today at work to leave a message for someone and the guy's voice reminded me of somebody. Oh, it was Clay the voice kinda sounded like. But I thought no, Clay's voice is much more manly. But with that smooth tin.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:31pm
dale:
burgess meredith was in first film version of 'of mice and men' - weird to see him as a shirtless sweaty brawler.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:31pm
Danne D:
LOL Kat great minds :) | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:32pm

I like this woman's articulation..
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:32pm
Clay:
I wish it were more manly, Mark.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:33pm
Matt from Springfield:
@Clay: My fav part is actually the start; what now seems in retrospect to be a almost sarcastic, spiteful tinge of "How A*BOUT that Sarah Palin?! HEAH?!"
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:33pm
Philo Gristle:
Personally I think Bruce Campbell should do a Romney spoof. Perfect match.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:33pm
Clay:
I love Burgess Meredith in 'Magic.'
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:33pm
Clay:
You're right Philo. I can see it.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:34pm
Clay:
The whole thing is great, Matt.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:34pm
Danne D:
Spent all of his time with sheep? Not that there's anything BAAAAAAAAAAAD about that.

Thu. 8/23/12 6:34pm
kat330:
Chin to chin. | |

Thu. 8/23/12 6:36pm
kat330:
I guess Jake Gyllenhaal would portray Ryan.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:36pm
Philo Gristle:
Guess I'm not the only one: http://bit.ly/SWgxk0

Thu. 8/23/12 6:36pm
Clay:
I found these records at Goodwill. Just kept going back for more. I missed all this the first time around.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:37pm
Clay:
Funny story, Dave. | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:37pm
kat330:
I met an Albanian in Evanston, IL. His name (he said) was Sami.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:37pm
Matt from Springfield:
Tirana. Tiranë in Shqiperi (Albanian).
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:37pm
Clay:
Good one, Kat. | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:38pm
Matt from Springfield:
@kat: To return to an earlier archetype: Has Todd Akin just become the king of "old, doughy white men"? Or do those in your neck of the woods still have a fighting chance? :)
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:39pm
Clay:
I love Ed209 from Robocop.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:39pm
Timb:
Hey Clay, listening from Fort Lauderdale. Love the WWE clip! Have a great show!
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:39pm
blee:
What is the E23? Are they your favorite 23 electronic tracks that you found, Clay? Always a pleasure to turn into your show.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:39pm
kat330:
It could be an amazing action film: Darko Notice.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:40pm
Matt from Springfield:
Explosion it is :) And old WWF/E clips, like Nick the Bard's show! (Always on very late 3-6 am as an occasional fill-in, but check those Archives out! Hysterical, out of this world!)
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:40pm
blee:
Shoots, you just said it. Nevermind my E23 question.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:40pm
dave:
it was great-- moving music-- lloyd webber and rice were amazing at joseph and jesus christ etc time
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:40pm
Timb:
Nice change of pace too with the electronic tunes. I miss 90s party techno. It was a guilty pleasure.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:40pm
Clay:
Hi Timb. Hello to you. Blee, exactly right.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:40pm
Philo Gristle:
@Clay I miss the days of stop-motion animation. ED209 was the king.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:41pm
Clay:
I was really glad to see a like-new copy of that Technicolor Dreamcoat LP, Dave.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:41pm
kat330:
Arrrrggggh! White doughy men (not OLD, middle-aged, of which I am a part) -- what an idiot! And yet our own Congressman is named Todd WHITE! (used to be a wonderful statesman, Lee Hamilton).
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:43pm
DPCD:
On the 23 find: We are left guessing why this ended up at Goodwill. Clay won't speculate... Is the former owner dead, probably, and did a family member not know what else to do with the collection? That's my sad assumption.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:43pm
Clay:
Agree Philo. | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:44pm
Philo Gristle:
Don't forget TODD Palin!
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:45pm
kat330:
[Matt, I meant AKIN's the idiot, in case a lack of punctuation clarity there!] Say, did anyone realize that YESTERday was national punctuation day?
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:45pm
Matt from Springfield:
@kat: In VA, Lynchburg remains the WDM capital, at least for the theocratic WDM (home of Jerry Falwell and Liberty University).
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:46pm
dale:
which goodwill clay, maragaretville or lower east side? is the antique shop still in the old movie theater across the street?
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:46pm
Clay:

|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:46pm
glenn:

|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:46pm
Matt from Springfield:
@kat: That was clear! @Philo: George Carlin's "Guys Named Todd" routine needs to be updated, to focus on *those* Todds in the present!
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:48pm
Clay:
Secret thrifts, Dale. | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:48pm
kat330:
Matt, are you WATSON? How the fuck do you know all this stuff?!! Carlin's MY generation, but I never knew of a Todd bit. You are a national treasure, my man!
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:49pm
Clay:
Hey Glenn. How are you? | |
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:49pm
other david:

|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:49pm
kat330:
[and living in the right city for Mr. Cage to steal you.]
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:49pm
Matt from Springfield:
Mental health! Rational gun regulations need to be taken seriously and implemented, in any case. But I still say the gaping hole here is mental health -- there's no infrastructure for treating and helping peoples mental health, short of warehousing people in what amount to prisons.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:49pm
glenn:
by the way, todd means dead in german. just sayin'.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:49pm

Thu. 8/23/12 6:51pm
kat330:
For McCain switching to Obama? That's encouraging.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:51pm
Matt from Springfield:
@last interviewee: Which, is exactly the intent of Obama's "amnesty" -- 2 year moratorium on deportations, so those eligible and brought here as children, can "get their papers" and get on the legal side of the books.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:51pm
DPCD:
Maybe Clay- or maybe you are resurrecting the passion of a person who died in obscurity, misunderstood and unappreciated until this moment.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:51pm
Clay:
Doing well, Glenn. Thanks.
|
Thu. 8/23/12 6:52pm

Thu. 8/23/12 6:56pm
Philo Gristle:
