Avatar Thu. 7/26/12 12:13pm kamikaze:

Hey all! Thanks for tuning in! Alan Dubin has a great playlist ready to go for the 1pm Peer Pressure slot. Sorry about the playlist color, but what is bothersome? My intention is yellow on brown, and that's what I've got on my monitor, can I get some feedback and I'll change it... THANKS!
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:14pm Cheri Pi:

paler yellow, like a postit note
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:14pm herr noiser:

bright yellow on white! mein eyes!
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:14pm BSI:

hotdamn! Praise Circle!
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:14pm zoran:

  Thu. 7/26/12 12:15pm herr noiser:

the background changed to white at some point during/after Kyuss
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:15pm Andrew Waterloo:

I wore my new Circle shirt today :) colours look good here
Avatar Thu. 7/26/12 12:15pm kamikaze:

Wait, so the background you see is WHITE? Wow, that's kinda cool. And I will change it.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:16pm Mike East:

I see yellow on brown. very mustardy.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:16pm paula pc:

cannot read this color scheme at all -- if that's on purpose OK but it not help!
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:16pm Cecile:

It's yellow and white. It's like invisible ink.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:17pm Cecile:

awesome, it's just fine now.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:17pm Cheri Pi:

that's nice.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:17pm herr noiser:

  Thu. 7/26/12 12:17pm paula pc:

thank you for the mustard - all is wonderful
@ cecile -- i was thinking the same thing and thinking hey let's tough this out
@ diane -- I wish my eyes were tougher
Avatar Thu. 7/26/12 12:17pm kamikaze:

  Thu. 7/26/12 12:19pm joe:

'ello folks. Dammit missed Kyuss
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:22pm Mike East:

now I've got yellow on maroon except the rectangle I post comments in where its still brown. Kinda cool, but it will likely go away when I post this comment.

Anybody got the hook to get Manowar tickets in Long Island LOL!
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:27pm Cecile:

Pandora was funny yesterday.
The way Messiah Marcolin was emoting on a Candlemass disc on Pandora kinda sounded like Marc Almond, and then the next auto pick was Marc Almond! Get out of my head...
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:29pm Cheri Pi:

that's weird C.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:31pm Cecile:

Tell me about it.
Okay, VOIVOD!!!!
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:32pm joe:

@Cecile I've have Pandora do stuff like that to me before and it always takes some time to shake the weird feeling it gives me.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:32pm joe:

Oh what the hell we are all friends here. VOIVOD!!!!!!
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:32pm Cecile:

I mean, joe, I would have done that seq if I were DJing.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:33pm Cheri Pi:

:) Joe...
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:35pm joe:

Totally. That happened to me the other day we were doing an 80's thing on the way to the beach and Sunglasses at Night came on and I said to my wife "wow I never noticed how much the intro to that sounds like Here Comes the Rain Again" well I'm sure you can guess what the next song was.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:37pm Cecile:

you gotta dig up those Khanate station IDS from 6/6/6 on Brian's show.
Avatar Thu. 7/26/12 12:38pm kamikaze:

Ah, I think only BT has 'em...
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:38pm Cecile:

joe, Pandora says they have real musicology dudes making notes on each track, so the music groupmind might align with us sometimes.

And Sunglasses is such a rip, I was always suprised I never heard of a Eurythmics lawsuit.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:40pm Mattias (Sweden):

YES! F*cking love Khanate!!!
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:40pm joe:

Yeah but "Don't switch the blade in a guy in shades Oh No" is a so much cooler lyric. :)
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:41pm Cecile:

this is making the Swans sound like the Eurythmics right about now.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:41pm Cheri Pi:

Yep. What she said.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:42pm Mattias (Sweden):

@Cecile Something like that, yes :)
Avatar Thu. 7/26/12 12:44pm kamikaze:

I know you all will be mesmerized by Alan's playlist, but don't forget to post any questions before you go into stupor!
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:45pm BSI:

Sweet dreams are made of vomiting gales of hellfire.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:46pm Cheri Pi:

Thu. 7/26/12 12:47pm Chris from DC:

Whoa, liking this Baratro
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:48pm Cecile:

What are this favorite throat relief remedies?
Is it OK if I send Eddie Trunk a Khanate "where are they now" question and see if he uses it on That Metal Show?
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:50pm Cecile:

Which of the Big Four thrash bands do you want to smack in the face and why?
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:50pm Cecile:

mine is the same as my answer for my favorite: Megadeth.
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:51pm Liam:

if the answer isn't all of them . . .
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:51pm Cheri Pi:

Which side of the Ohio/Michigan war do you tend to side with?
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:51pm old lady:

question for mr. dubin: why all the talk of teeth? and what the fuck are dentures?
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:53pm Cheri Pi:

Does your mother listen to your music?
  Thu. 7/26/12 12:53pm Cecile:

  Thu. 7/26/12 12:54pm Cecile:

  Thu. 7/26/12 12:55pm Cheri Pi:

  Thu. 7/26/12 12:56pm Cheri Pi:

What's his sign? Larry's a Cancer...
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:00pm Cecile:

it's probably Libman. After the wonder mop.
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:05pm OUKhan812:

Are you the male voice on Mouth and MacNeal's "How Do You Do"
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:05pm Cecile:

hey, that's how Captain Beefheart wrote songs.
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:06pm joe:

I personally would like to smack Dave Mustaine in the face with Lar Ulrich.
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:07pm OUKhan812:

Which Jimmy Sommerville project influenced you most vocally
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:08pm Cecile:

joe, I like that.
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:09pm Cheri Pi:

That Mouth and MacNeal video is really "something else"
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:11pm dw:

Please ask about, Formula. That is a great record!
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:18pm Cheri Pi:

  Thu. 7/26/12 1:27pm BSI:

  Thu. 7/26/12 1:27pm Liam:

  Thu. 7/26/12 1:27pm Andrew Waterloo:

This is awesome!
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:28pm slugluv1313:

  Thu. 7/26/12 1:38pm paula pc:

  Thu. 7/26/12 1:44pm Cecile:

good choice. It's a classic. :D
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:46pm Wm. B.:

Diane, this is a landmark show and thanks for presenting it. Cheers to you & Dubin! Love the SLAB!
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:48pm joe:

@Andrew Waterloo there was a time where you could hardly go anywhere in the lower east side of NY with out seeing that Missing Foundations logo (the upsided down glass with the hashmarks) like I said there was just as much to their ledgend as anything else which is how I think they wanted it.
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:50pm Wm. B.:

Missing Foundation -- no "s." Our own Chris T. was their guitar player for a time.
  Thu. 7/26/12 1:52pm Cheri Pi:

  Thu. 7/26/12 1:52pm joe:

WM B HA no way. that's a piece of trivia for ya.

  Thu. 7/26/12 2:21pm joe:

Thu. 7/26/12 2:21pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

Oh hell!!!
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:22pm Cheri Pi:

I'm forming a support group. We'll get through the after effects of AlanDubin's segment together.
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:23pm SteveL:

Amazing cover. Going to track this down. Nice stuff.
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:24pm BSI:

@Cheri: The logical course of action would be for that support group to sit around and just play the archive again. And perhaps again...
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:25pm Cheri Pi:

Keep the comment board open DK! We'll be back w/ beer!
Thu. 7/26/12 2:27pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

  Thu. 7/26/12 2:31pm joe:

  Thu. 7/26/12 2:33pm joe:

I have never seen Alan play live. Does he control his effects from the stage himself?
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:34pm Cecile:

I ususually don't put the words Khanate and sparkly together! lol

Great, great set.
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:36pm Cheri Pi:

  Thu. 7/26/12 2:37pm joe:

THANKS!!! Alan this was killer
Thu. 7/26/12 2:37pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

I saw O.L.D. a couple of decades ago. I don't recall him tinkering with any effects.

As I commented on Diane's Facebook page I wondered if he needed to have his voice amplified to be heard.
Avatar Thu. 7/26/12 2:41pm kamikaze:

Sorry I didn't get to ask Alan all questions - Yes he does control his FX live on stage. Thanks Alan, great playlist! Thanks for the questions and comments, folks!
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:43pm Cecile:

mommy, give the bad man a cough drop.
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:44pm Cecile:

Thu. 7/26/12 2:45pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

This is fantastic! Thanks for having Alan on your show, Diane!
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:45pm Cheri Pi:

I'm going to home to look at all my John Denver albums for reassurance.
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:45pm Cecile:

I can't get my head aroujnd the mild-mannered, humorous dude on the phone is so twisted in performance.
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:46pm Cronos:

I wanna drink!
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:47pm Cheri Pi:

the cat ran away...
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:48pm BSI:

dog is still asleep, but twitchin' a bit more than usual...
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:49pm Cecile:

dog is probably chewing on Alan's face in their dreams.
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:49pm Cheri Pi:

the honey badger suddenly cares
Thu. 7/26/12 2:51pm BadGuyZero (Dallas, TX):

My experience is that the craziest/most extreme performers are usually the calmest and most mild-mannered offstage.
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:55pm Cheri Pi:

Rocky Mountain Hiiiiiiiigggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh in Colorado
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:55pm BSI:

True enough, BGZero. I found Wm Bennett to be perfectly charming.

Great show, thanks!
  Thu. 7/26/12 2:59pm herr noiser:
