ah, the rubaiyat comp. i remember buying that back in the day for the metallica "stone cold crazy" cover. sold it back to cd world some years later in a general music purge. the clerk's eyes bugged out of his head when he saw the lineup of artists.

I first heard that Elektra comp at a friend's house at age 16 and spent the next 15 years trying to find it. Ordered it from Amazon a couple of times and was thwarted by bad credit cards, stock problems, etc!

Ah, Maybelle Carter: I have to listen to that one properly - I have it as a triple lp, very nicely packaged. The most expensive item in my collection is the Carter Family box on Bear Family. But you'll get a huge book with it!

Amanda, one of the many amazing things about your show is that it is so easy to imagine you singing along to every track you play—you just leave the mic on every once in a while. That is just really compelling and extremely wonderful. Am I right, friends?
