Listener comments!

  9:10am JoeChrisMorris:

Odessa is quite a good album Bob !
  9:13am Mike East:

I've heard "Holiday" so many times and never knew it was the BeeGees. Thanks, Bob!
  9:19am D in Miami:

I only knew the BeeGee's disco stuff and never liked it. Didn't know they were around so early and did such good songs. Thanks for the enlightenment, Bob. This is why I appreciate WFMU.
  9:25am Parq:

D, older guys like me, who grew up with the BGs early stuff -- we can't really blame you for not knowing about it. Except for FMU (of course), the media have been monolithic in selling the line that they came out of nowhere with the SNF soundtrack. Why we appreciate FMU, indeed!
  9:32am D in Miami:

Parq, I was born in '70 and unfortunately never had the exposure even then. Glad I had the common sense to give up on radio in my teens to find my own (better?) music, outside the mainstream media stronghold.
  9:38am Mike East:

I read an article last week saying that in '95, the FCC forbade any one company to own more than 40 radio stations, and yet Clearchannel owns 1200. Not sure how that works, but it definitely makes me glad something like WFMU can exist in this world.
  9:43am D in Miami:

I was thinking how great it would have been if we could stream WFMU in the 70's. With Clearchannel, it's probably a matter of who's got money.
  9:54am Fred Buchholz:

I bought this Seals & Crofts album in a cut out bin for $1 in the early 70's. It has remained a favorite ever since.
  10:07am seang:

I remember these dudes
  10:15am scott:

The Distant Cousins were Larry Brown and Ray Bloodworth, who worked as house songwriter/producers for Bob Crewe's label. I believe they were resposnsible for discovering and recording Richard and the Young Lions, among iothers.
  10:17am William:

Bob, have you heard Jerry Corbitt's solo LP's?
