Hello all! Note to self: get the Coltrane reissues.
Both the Highland bagpipes and the uilleann are great instruments, but I do always laugh at the Braveheart soundtrack using uilleann bagpipes. Yeah, they're more melodic, but seriously: wrong country!

I told my one Austin friend to go check out the show. I'm hoping he does so he'll turn into a WFMU convert and start pledging his cash!! Nobody listens to me when I tell them this is the only radio station that matters. I think you have to come to it yourself for it to really sink in.

My Scottish ex-girlfriend got an ASBO for regularly playing bagpipes to gabba music in Glasgow. What an unholy union. Still makes me laugh though simply because it's so ridiculous.

@Caryn: Hey, BTW, I was way off the mark about my Holiday the other day. Not only is mine NOT on CD, it is actually a double vinyl set from 1972 on Columbia: "God Bless the Child," produced by Chris Albertson from the John Hammond Collection.
