Hi Brian. I myself am made of bits of plastic, sellotape and found objects.

Tony has been broadcasting on this alternate stream for a over a year now. His show normally airs here every other Tuesday, 12-3 (EST), but due to the marathon, Tony will be on the next three consecutive Tuesday afternoons!

@J from JP
There are now a half dozen shows airing on the stream, with more to come. You can follow the stream on Twitter (@GTDRadio) on Facebook (Give the Drummer Radio at WFMU) and via email. I send out email alerts for all shows airing on the stream, plus a weekly newsletter. To get on the email list, send a request to: drummer (at) wfmu [dot] org.

@Tony
The stream cut for me, too, but reestablished quickly.

Tony, think you have some buffering teenagers in the house. Check IDs at the door and remove any chocolate. Pesky kids over forty. Thought that was Mr Cage sampled.
  12:56pm
Doug S.:

Just had another rebuffering episode. I have the stream software open and nothing is interrupting the stream from the stream's end. I'm guessing maybe spotty power in Jersey City.
  12:58pm
BSI:

[raises fist]
SPOTTY POWER!
Avatar 12:59pm

Or maybe it's Sun Ra spots interfering with the signal?
  12:59pm

Tony, have you got any Spotty Power LPs?

Just got confirmation from WFMU tech guru Mike Adler that the stream interruptions are station-wide Internet issues and not GTDR specific.

By the way, I forgot to show you my jazz credentials: I was back to back with Phil Schaap on WKCR for many years. Plus, when I was in college I was once invited to sit in with a band containing members of Sun Ra's Arkestra -- being profoundly unqualified, I wisely failed to show up for the concert.

The governor of Massachusetts is the son of Sun Ra sideman Pat Patrick. (Good times!)

  2:16pm
Doug S.:

I've got to run out. Great show Tony! Tonight on Give the Drummer Some (6-7pm) I will be playing nothing but broken-hearted tunes. Happy Valentines!
  2:16pm
conrad:

wiki sez: "Patrick was born on the South Side of Chicago, where his family resided in a two-bedroom apartment in Robert Taylor Homes housing projects. In 1959, his father Laurdine "Pat" Patrick, a member of jazz musician Sun Ra's band, left his wife Mae (née Wintersmith),[3] Deval, and their daughter, Rhonda (who is one year Deval's senior) in order to play music in New York City[4] and because he had fathered a daughter by another woman.[5] Deval reportedly had a strained relationship with his father, who opposed his choice of high school, but they eventually reconciled."

Amazing. Hope Mass. is getting those cosmic vibrations.
