I Mustin-form you that i strongly suspect that Burt may have had a distant ancestor who became overly familiar with a Dodo bird

kat330:
I think Burt has a wonderful face!

Sat. 2/11/12 2:13pm

@Kat...Noted. There comes a point in every man's life when the elastic waistband seems like a good idea. I do hope I never reach that point.

Sat. 2/11/12 2:29pm
Tom:
Bert Mustin was a regular on Leave it to Beaver, is this a tribute song?
Sat. 2/11/12 2:30pm
Parq:
Burt Mustin! I have so many memories of him on the Teevee in the 60s? Anyone else remember "The Funny Side". It had five couples -- a rich liberal couple, a conservative blue collar couple, an old couple, a college-age couple and a black couple. The guy in the black couple had a catch phrase "Hello There Theresa!", and was played by a young John Amos. (Guess which couple Burt was in.) And the whole thing was hosted by Gene Kelly. Great dumb entertainment.
Sat. 2/11/12 2:30pm
kat330:
I don't know how he managed to wipe 'em out, but I cannot find a single image online of Burt R. in a leisure suit (which was my Sansa Belt point, not that he needed elastic in the '70s ;).
Sat. 2/11/12 2:32pm
kat330:

Quick question, all good folk. Reading Max Decharne's Rocket in My Pocket (great!), makes me wonder what else besides Incredibly Strange Music volumes, Irwin's Outsider Music book and back issues of Kicks Magazine covers this era in a worthwhile fashion?
Sat. 2/11/12 2:50pm
Tom 112482:
Two of the BEST songs I have Ever listened to. The Hitch hikers "shooting beaver/beaver shot" and "One ugly child" Larry Bright
