Good morning, Fred.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:10am SteveL:

Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:11am Scott:

It is so hot in this studio.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:14am pierre:

Bonjour Scott !
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:14am Mick M:

Hey ho - I missed the name of the Brazilian track - was it hipnosis? Hot - its minus 2 here!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:15am Scott:

Hey Mick, That was "You Don't Know Me"
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:17am Mick M:

Ah ha - by ....?
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:18am Scott:

Caetano Veloso
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:18am Mick M:

Sorry - no no - the one before You Don't Know Me!!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:19am Scott:

Yes that was Hipnosis. - Also found on the Jackie McLean album Hipnosis.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:21am Mick M:

Thanks Scott - you said has a Brazilian feel I think? Are there two versions,ie one by Grachan Moncur III and Jackie McLean?
Fri. 2/3/12 9:29am yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Israel,Earth,Milky Way):

This is beautiful stuff,Japanese music
Fri. 2/3/12 9:29am yair Yona (Tel Aviv, Israel,Earth,Milky Way):

Hi everyone
Fri. 2/3/12 9:30am the glowing one:

hi yair
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:33am Cecile:

What is the "Nurse with Wound" list?
Fri. 2/3/12 9:33am the glowing one:

it's a list of bands that the band Nurse with Wound printed on one of their album covers
Fri. 2/3/12 9:35am the glowing one:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nurse_with_Wound_list

lol, it even has a WP article
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:35am Cecile:

Thanks!
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:38am Cecile:

Oh, I thought I wouldn't know any of them. Why there's even some that I knew even before I started listening to Fabio's show. :D
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:40am Cecile:

Scott, I don't know if you like them or not, but I have a little hankering for some King Crimson.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:41am (Tel Aviv, Israel,Earth,Milky Way):

Cecile, I'm with you on this. Since early morning I've been humming bass lines from Starless and Bible Black (the album)
Fri. 2/3/12 9:41am the glowing one:

scott, should play something from Islands or Lizard
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:42am Cecile:

Great Deceiver? That's been running through my head this AM.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:42am Cecile:

I was hoping that Nurse with Wound would have had something completely out of place on their list. Like Nervous Norvus or Kiss or Barbra Streisand or something.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:42am Scott:

Haha! I don't know if I can go there!
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:43am Cecile:

Islands is great.
Or even something from Discipline.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:44am Cecile:

Start a set with it, then you can change gears right after (my old DJ trick)
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:44am Scott:

How about something from Selling England by the Pound?
Fri. 2/3/12 9:46am the glowing one:

yeah, the cinema show or battle of epping forest
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:46am fcunmys:

I'm partial to some Flying Saucer Attack myself!
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:46am Cecile:

That's not King Crimson, silly!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:46am Scott:

Or maybe Rush.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:46am Cecile:

Ooho, fcun, good call.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:47am Scott:

Like Grace Under Pressure.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:47am (Tel Aviv, Israel,Earth,Milky Way):

you know what, just go for Owner Of The Lonely Hearts and we'll call it even
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:48am fcunmys:

TelAviv: YES?!?!? NO!!!!!!!!
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:48am (Tel Aviv, Israel,Earth,Milky Way):

Moholy Nagy sounds brilliant, like that 70's French duo Pole.
Fri. 2/3/12 9:49am the glowing one:

we built this city!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:49am Scott:

Contemplating fitting Owner of a Lonely Heart in somehow. Hmmmm.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:49am bruceleh:

I heard "Rockette Morton", both parts, for the first time this week. I had eaten a large meal before, and listening to it definitely made me queasy. Great cut for clearing out the party!
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:49am Cecile:

Wanting King Crimson and getting Rush is like craving an aged Spanish Manchego and getting a hunk of crusty old brick cheese with carpet fibers, cat pee and crumbs on it.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:49am Scott:

Shall take deft DJ hands, this.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:50am Scott:

How about Hawkwind?
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:50am Cecile:

I did enjoy dancing to Owner of a Lonely Heart in the 80s. I cannot lie. In the hands of DJ Whiz Kid, it was amazing.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:51am Cecile:

How about Motorhead?
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:51am fcunmys:

What about some good old fashioned Merzbow???
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:51am Cecile:

Like momma used to play for us!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:53am Scott:

Too pessimistic.
Fri. 2/3/12 9:53am Chris from DC:

Wow, this ASTRO is great.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:53am fcunmys:

With Psychocandy-era The Jesus & Marychain for dessert!
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:53am BSI:

Tonto's Expanding Head Band?
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:54am Scott:

You just stumped me BSI. Is that real?
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:55am Cecile:

Yes! They worked with Stevie Wonder to teach him about synthesizers.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:55am BSI:

yessir. late '60s electronic/psych noodling. The LP I've got is "zero time" ... classic weird.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:56am fcunmys:

BSI: Why not Silver Apples or 50 Foot Pole?
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:57am Cecile:

Indeed, BSI!
I was friends with synthesizer geeks in the 70s. They liked some awful stuff, but also were into things like Kraftwerk and Tonto.

Silver Apples!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 9:58am Scott:

How about 50 Foot Ganja Plant?
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:58am Cecile:

http://www.tontosexpandingheadband.com/
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:58am BSI:

fcunmys: would that be 50 Foot Hose?
brilliant stuff, if so.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:59am BSI:

By the way, completely arfingly digging this ASTRO business.
  Fri. 2/3/12 9:59am Cecile:

how about 900 Foot Jesus by Tragic Mulatto?
50 Foot Hose is good.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:00am fcunmys:

BSI: Yep! My bad, Thank's for the correct!

But how's about Stereolab/Nurse with Wound collaboration from the mid 1990s???
Fri. 2/3/12 10:04am Chris from DC:

Oh, yeah. Love 50 Ft. Hose. Actually got to see them.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:06am Scott:

I kinda wanna go techno.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:07am Cecile:

Cool! Got Jeff Mills?
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:09am fcunmys:

Or Atari Teenage Riot?? Or Add N To X??
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:09am fcunmys:

Or Atari Teenage Riot?? Or Add N To X??
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:11am Scott:

Are Silver Apples considered techno?
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:13am pierre:

I've "Electro pionneers" used as a genre to describe Silver Apples.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:14am Scott:

Which to me means "techno"!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:14am Scott:

The dance kids just hate me!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:14am Scott:

I'm sorry I don't understand your music!
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:16am fcunmys:

We don't hate you but techno in the mornings is sorta like someone laying a sewer drain on your block at 6:00AM in the morning.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:16am Scott:

Well, Atari Teenage Riot maybe.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:17am fcunmys:

Scott: Just start with Squarepusher and let's see how the wheels of steel start turning.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:19am Scott:

Patience. Can't you hear it coming? Put your ear to the ground.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:25am BSI:

Ear is to the ground. I think there are ants in there now. Orichalcum did some nice psytrance techno with growly sinister didgeridoo noises. Totally monotonous like the best psytrance, but too dark to shake your bootie to. Ergo, marvelous.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:25am fcunmys:

Ring! Ring! goes the bell says Chuck Berry
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:28am George Serr:

Good morning Scott! What was the talk over track after ASTRO/Hiroshi Hasegawa? Please include it on the playlist or send me an email. I got to get a copy of that. I always Love your show. Thanks :)
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:28am jj.:

niiiiiiiiice segue.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:29am fcunmys:

Hey! Incandescent One. Where can I get that Cleve Pozar track?
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:29am Scott:

George that was Ambarchi & Brinkmann - "the mortimer trap"
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:31am Scott:

fcunmys: 50 Miles of Elbow Room had copies of the LP. That's where I got mine. Don't know if they still do.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:32am BSI:

digging.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:35am fcunmys:

I'm hearing those beats now!!!
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:36am George Serr:

Thanks Again!
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:38am Cecile:

LOVE this.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 10:39am Scott:

I knew you would!
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:39am Cecile:

thank you!
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:41am Cecile:

this track has as kind of soulful feel even though it's mechanical.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:50am Mick M:

ooooohhhh this is niceeeee.......
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:52am Cecile:

Damn, another brilliant DJ Kicks track.
  Fri. 2/3/12 10:52am Cecile:

  Fri. 2/3/12 11:31am Mike East:

Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 11:31am TheRealScottMcDowell:

  Fri. 2/3/12 11:38am Cecile:

Fri. 2/3/12 11:39am Dead Corporate Eyes:

refuse to be confused!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 11:39am TheRealScottMcDowell:

Sorry, Cecile. Someone was posting as the DJ who wasn't the DJ. Maybe his name is actually Scott. But it's probably Steve or something.
  Fri. 2/3/12 11:40am fcunmys:

  Fri. 2/3/12 11:41am fcunmys:

Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 11:42am TheRealScottMcDowell:

No problem, I love you anyway. But it's just confusing.
  Fri. 2/3/12 11:45am Scott:

I truly like this ambient stuff, however. Steve Roach, record on ! Is this ambient ??
  Fri. 2/3/12 11:45am pierre:

my knees are cold.
  Fri. 2/3/12 11:45am Parq:

Fri. 2/3/12 11:48am other other Scott:

  Fri. 2/3/12 11:49am Scott:

In honesty, I am Scotty, but thank my parents for that one.
  Fri. 2/3/12 11:49am Snortley:

Why do they call them "singing bowls" if all they can do is hum?
  Fri. 2/3/12 11:50am Scott:

I feel like sauntering in Joshua Tree
  Fri. 2/3/12 11:51am fcunmys:

  Fri. 2/3/12 11:57am fcunmys:
