Thu. 2/2/12 9:10pm Peanut Gallery:

Does the Alligator somehow trump the Swim and/or the Frog?

Thu. 2/2/12 9:14pm PB:

I always loved George's very short-but-sweet guitar solos on the very early Beatles stuff.

Thu. 2/2/12 9:19pm Mike Sin:

Hey folks! Thanks for tuning in!

Thu. 2/2/12 9:22pm PB:

Good stuff, and all of it at least 45 years old.

Thu. 2/2/12 9:33pm Bill:

Alright is not all right.

Thu. 2/2/12 9:35pm frenchee:

you tell 'em, Bill!

Thu. 2/2/12 9:37pm frenchee:

Hi PB, beg to differ: the Siberians only *sound* like it's 45 years old

Thu. 2/2/12 9:37pm Bill:

A principal must live by principles.

Thu. 2/2/12 9:39pm PB:

You're right, I thought it was mid-60s stuff that Mike forgot to post the year for. Turns out it was released this year. Sounds old but is a great track nonetheless.

Thu. 2/2/12 9:40pm PB:

The Siberians also sounds like a classic mid-60s garage band name. Fooled me.

Thu. 2/2/12 9:42pm frenchee:

and now we're creeping into the 90s, woo-hoo!

Thu. 2/2/12 9:58pm Bill:

Thu. 2/2/12 10:47pm Bill:

Thu. 2/2/12 10:58pm Parq:

Frenchee the copy editor, did you hear they just said "Alls I need"?

Thu. 2/2/12 10:59pm Jeezy:

Wow... Only ever knew the Get Happy version!

Thu. 2/2/12 11:00pm Bill:

Did they do "Sorrow"? (question mark outside the quotes for Liz's benefit).

Thu. 2/2/12 11:00pm Matt from Springfield:

THAI ROCK!! And a very faithful cover of "What'd I Say", considered the variations in some of their covers from that time.

Thu. 2/2/12 11:01pm Playtex and the Girdles:

Lock and Loll!!!!

Thu. 2/2/12 11:02pm frenchee:

Well all right! Thanks for the comments! I'll try to answer some of questions on the air during a mike break.

Thu. 2/2/12 11:14pm Matt from Springfield:

A Curt Boettcher Songbook? This Beth sounds EXTREMELY familiar--who originally did this song? I think Irwin in fact played an older version of this.

That said, this is a nice version Mike!

Thu. 2/2/12 11:16pm I Have a Farfisa and I'll Use It!:

The Cowsills!

Thu. 2/2/12 11:27pm Matt from Springfield:

Hey hey...
Why-do-you-walk-likeadrunk-arddddd!!!

Funny how that translation worked, more to fit Thai words into the original sound. (The Drunken Noodles will do that to you!)

Thu. 2/2/12 11:32pm Bill:

I was out sick last night. I tried to get Mike Sin to fill in for me.

Thu. 2/2/12 11:32pm Dave the Spazz Who?:

¡ǝɯoɥ ʎɐʇs oʇ zzɐds ǝɥʇ ǝʌɐp llǝʇ

Thu. 2/2/12 11:34pm frenchee:

whoa! how you did that?

Thu. 2/2/12 11:35pm Matt from Springfield:

Sammy does a great cover of "Spinning Wheel"--considering the original was sung by Al Kooper, they have a similar style and it works out well here.
(Although, I think this was the same album where Sammy sang "In The Ghetto"--NOT as good! Golden Throats material!)

Thu. 2/2/12 11:37pm Bill:

Spinning Wheel? Al Kooper? Detention!

Thu. 2/2/12 11:38pm Bill:

i am hurriedly checking to see if he might have done a demo.

Thu. 2/2/12 11:38pm Peter Lawford's Ghost:

Here's mud in your good eye, Sammy.

Thu. 2/2/12 11:40pm G:

@frenchee: There are various websites that have a box for flipping and inverting text. http://www.upsidedowntext.com/ and others...

Thu. 2/2/12 11:42pm frenchee:

thanks G,
I prefer to think it's hoodoo mojo magic!

Thu. 2/2/12 11:42pm G:

that's fun, too :-)

Thu. 2/2/12 11:43pm Matt from Springfield:

Gasp! Otis REDDING and Carla THOMAS??! I wouldn't have thunk it! Super-duet!!!

Thu. 2/2/12 11:48pm Looooooooonnnnnnnnng Hot Dog:

...and to all of the Wrecking Crew...
