  Sun. 1/15/12 7:15pm Jeff:

Here in JC, it's far too cold to venture out - so we made some long-suffering chinese-delivery dude do it for us. About to settle in with Szechuan deliciousness.
  Sun. 1/15/12 7:15pm annie:

monica it was such a joy to hear the archived shows today in the cafe..
  Sun. 1/15/12 7:16pm revjon:

Is that Laurie Fuller?
  Sun. 1/15/12 7:19pm bruceleh:

Hi Monica

A great little bio/tribute to the man:

  Sun. 1/15/12 7:30pm cb1:

Mo,
Laurie Fuller was a contemporary of Isadora Duncan. She was known for dancing in a costume like this , whirling her arms up and down as she spun like a dervish. She was trying to imitate fire. There are very few pix and I think just one short piece of film of her. Dat's all I know...
Avatar Sun. 1/15/12 7:31pm monica:

me too, revjon. very icicle-y.... cb1 - aha! i'll bet it is then. looks like a still from a film.

Nous sommes en portant les 'thermales' de Big Yank de la Rue Fulton in Brooklyn, with the oven on (!!) But earlier we styled blue jeans (bareback) with a funky hoodie, topped by one of our several Spiewak seriously cool/fake furry tunics- Apologies to the drivers but if if snows, it's not so cold !! Mo, give us some tales of the Chicago winds (the Knife, worse even than the Hawk!!) svp (totally heart yer show:::))))
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:14pm glenn:

normally i loathe the hollies, but this ain't bad.
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:15pm Gail:

That's cos they had the good sense to keep the bassline glenn!
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:17pm Windy City:

  Sun. 1/15/12 8:22pm Gail:

  Sun. 1/15/12 8:30pm !!!:

fuck no i wont do whatcha told me
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:32pm Windy City:

Its so cold they had to invent the deep dish pizza, a thin crust would never stay warm. A deep dish at least has a chance of staying warm it has "core" heat!
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:34pm revjon:

now windy city, i don't know if that's true, but the logic is very appealing. boston is starting to feel downright balmy in comparison
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:35pm listener gary:

Laurie fuller ...not the correct spelling...can be seen in the anthology film That's Dancing. In 1959, January, I was working in the Coconut Grove Playhouse in Miami and the show of note was Visit to a Small Planet with Paul Lynde. I knew then that someday there would be a program called HWood sqs and that he would BE ON IT!
Avatar Sun. 1/15/12 8:36pm monica:

!!! you'll do as you're told, young man!
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:36pm listener gary:

sorry, I forgot to say hello. excuse my rudeness!!!
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:36pm City Contrast:

NYC: It aint the heat, it's the HUMIDITY

Chicago: It aint the cold, it the WIND
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:37pm revjon:

in east texas, my grandmother always said "it's not the heat, it's the stupidity"
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:37pm trishh:

I like how smart that windy city is. It can tell me whatever the hell it wants me to pizza do do do.
  Sun. 1/15/12 8:38pm !!!:

sorry, mom :-P
Sun. 1/15/12 8:43pm Grown up insolence:

It's refusing to wear your stupid.

  Sun. 1/15/12 8:45pm Mike Sin:

  Sun. 1/15/12 8:47pm annie:

  Sun. 1/15/12 8:55pm Doug S.:

Frank was one of few survivors in a boiler-explosion accident at his elementary school. Suffered from mental and physical ailments the rest of his life. Learned guitar while recovering in hospital; went to England on the insurance money and became the toast of the Brit folk revival (was Sandy Denny's beaux for a spell); was always haunted and couldn't deal with the scene. Came back to the states and ended up essentially homeless after he was misdiagnosed. Later, got (re)discovered by a fan who helped him back to a better place, then he upped and died unexpectedly as he was edging back toward composing/playing.
