Ya. must be one of the most politically-incorrect films ever, even by Japanese pinku standards.I've seen of late : Flesh Target: Rape! [1979]
|
Fri. 1/13/12 1:11am
Wm.:
Okay. Ready for my copy. What's that one, in b&w, that's an endless beach pursuit? Naked Pursuit, maybe?
|
Fri. 1/13/12 1:13am

Yeah, in Japanese, it's Kôfun!!, from 1969. Amazing they got a whole film out of that.

|
Fri. 1/13/12 1:21am
Wm.:
Shima Izumi was in Gate of Flesh, which predates the pink films, and is a bit more importable, being a Suzuki film. Love that chunky-cheeked Joe Shishido!

Brutal show tonight. Captivating. Has anybody else seen Tetsuo The Iron Man?
|
Fri. 1/13/12 1:48am
Wm.:
I'd hazard a guess that everyone listening has seen Tetsuo. Have you seen his female-boxing film? Pretty "straight" for him, but good.
|
Fri. 1/13/12 1:49am
Wm.:
Tsukamoto - the boxing movie is called Tokyo Fist.

Bonding by beating each other's faces to a pulp.

I've never seen Tokyo Fist. Sounds interesting though. Just read a little about it. Wide to Be Sacrificed sounds like the type of movie that would just sit in the viewers sub-conscious for for a long time. Gotta see that one.

Remembered that film: Tanioka Yasuji no Mettameta Gaki Dou Kouza (1971) based on Tanioka's Manga madness. Probably hard to find outside of Japan, and I was mistaken about the "snot" it was actually a bleeding nose (a signifier of being horny).

Found a little synopsis: This movie really defies description. Apparently an adaptation of a manga, the narrative follows an 11 year old boy as he attempts to come to grips with the realities of life - the birds and the bees, that is. In his coming of age, he is "assisted" by some kind of bizarre rooster-person. The boy (like most of the males in the film, regardless of age) has a breast fetish, and much hilarity and hi jinks ensue as he tries to work out his natural desires to molest females with the social prohibitions we all submit to. Really, this movie has to be seen to be believed - the physical humor is kind of like Jerry Lewis, only much more lewd, and kind of like Benny Hill, but not as cliched. This is as close to a live-action cartoon as Ive ever seen. Even without subtitles, you can follow along, as the majority of the humor derives from visual puns and sight gags. This movie is hilarious, as long as you aren't offended by constant incest references and the total objectification of most of the women in the movie. The actor who plays the main character is really very natural and charming (he pulls a mug like no other), and the movie is so earnest, you can't but be left with a warmed heart. Or something. -directed by Mio Ezaki
