This episode of The Dusty Show begins at Zuccotti Park in lower Manhattan on Saturday. November 13th, some 36-hours before NYC Mayor Bloomberg ordered in police to evict the Occupy Wall Street protestors. I had intended to do another program which focused on life inside the encampment, but the sudden eviction sent me back on the street to cover the proceedings. Hence, I had a lot of extra footage for this show. I ended up editing four-hours of audio footage into a one-hour program, dividing it into two halves --- Pre and Post-Raid. I hope you have found these Occupy Wall Street episodes to be interesting.

An Interview with Ahmed, A Cab Driver in Manhattan - (as he takes me to Zuccotti Park just after the raid was announced)
Ahmed took me to City Hall, where I then walked as far as I could before encountering police resistance. There was a small group of protestors at the corner of Cortlandt and Broadway, a couple of blocks from the inaccessible Zuccotti Park, and I joined them and recorded some interviews and sound. All-the-while, the crowd was growing as people who had been at home arrived on the scene. The tension was palpable between the crowd and the police. Everyone was running on adrenaline.

Mercury hasn't been removed from flu shots. The shot is only for that specific virus of the season, won't necessarily prevent you from getting the flu, could have adverse side effects including death, all to prevent an uncomfortable illness. That's why "I don't believe in" flu shots.

@Dave: True--but, a movement is not a policy. The pressure they have put on Wall Street has already circulated throughout the country, getting people to talk about inequality and plutocracy. People running for office might now focus on those issues.

Matt - I agree, and I understand that it is currently a movement. It really has done a good job of getting people to talk about these issues. There is a lot of talk now about "next steps". The Tea Party actually did a good job of sympathetic people. I think there is always going to be a disconnect between the elected officials and the 99% until some people get voted out.

It's sad that NYPD raided Occupy Wall Street--but I agree with Matt Taibbi: when there's a massive police response, arrests and pepper spray to people exercising their First Amendment rights, yet no one in the skyscrapers above is held accountable, that contrast only supports their cause.
