Options October 16, 2011: To relax in the arms of someone strange: Live music from Kristin Hersh!
Kristin Hersh has been writing songs and performing since the early '80s: first with the alt-rock band Throwing Muses, and later as a solo artist and with her second band, 50 Foot Wave. Last year, she published Rat Girl, a memoir of her teen years; and has also authored a children’s book, titled Toby Snax. Throwing Muses has been working on their first new album in eight years; and last month saw the release of a 2-disc anthology collection, celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album. As the band begins a two-month tour of Europe and Great Britain, Kristin stops by WFMU to sing her deeply personal songs and share some stories from her book.
