  6:03am
Dave B:

Namaste
  6:03am
fred von helsing:

Yeay!
  6:04am
Simon:

Namaste
  6:05am
Simon:

Is there an echo in here?
  6:05am
Meghan:

Morning all!
  6:06am
Chuck:

Meghan may have the echo machine on, Simon...
  6:08am
Meghan:

So that is where my stupid reverb works when I try to use it?
  6:09am
Meghan:

Alright..... So we have lost our tenant here at the station. So we are either looking for a person to take over their lease or we need to raise some SERIOUS money! Come on everyone! (plus you all want that Rush show, right?)
  6:11am
Simon:

I quite like the sound of living upstairs from WFMU. How long is the commute to London Marylebone from there?
  6:12am
Meghan:

Hmmmm, i'd say about 6 hours....
  6:15am
Simon:

That might not work. do we get a picture this week? IF you stick Indian Mystic into google images Magaret Thatcher appears quite near the top. How odd
  6:16am
Dave B:

Give or take, depending on traffic
  6:16am
Meghan:

oh, yes! Let me look......
  6:21am
Chuck:

Whoa! The pic you've selected is actually sort of creepy, Meg...
  6:22am
Meghan:

That is Holi fest in India! It's kinda great
  6:24am
Chuck:

Those folks look like they got sprayed with silicon rubber....
  6:26am
Dave B:

What's the zoning like at WFMU HQ? I vote for a performance venue in the space on the first floor...
  6:27am
fred von helsing:

I vote for a car wash. With funky toonz!
  6:29am
Dave B:

and I hope you had the bubble machine on for that last number...
  6:32am
Dave B:

Halloween ideas for Bosco:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/8821789/Dogs-styled-as-My-Little-Pony-and-Lady-Gaga-at-British-grooming-awards.html
  6:37am
Chuck:

Why do people do such horrible things to their pets....
  6:38am
Meghan:

Dave we want the performance space as well.... but the only issue is that we get 85K from rent, so not getting that would definitely hurt us financially.... (plus doing the renovation and equipment to make it a performance space)

That bar has not moved..... Come on people! Pledge and support us! We need all the love we can get! We need to get a break in all these burdens.... for once!
  6:40am
Dave B:

WE NEED RUSH!!!!

(ya know, come to think of it you could use RUSH to raise that money. Just keep playing it until the goal is met!)
  6:41am
Meghan:

ewwww, no
  6:43am
Meghan:

OMG.... Those dog images are hilarious. I love the dragon one....
  6:46am
Dave B:

My brother Chris mentioned going to Dublin right around the same time - Christmas thru NYD... I'll put him in touch with ya, if thatd be cool.
  6:47am
Chuck:

Well, I moved the bar a little. Your turn folks!
  6:48am
Meghan:

sure! We are staying in the Temple Bar area.

Thanks CHUCK! See everyone! You all can move that bar a little! If everyone gives a little then that bar moves!
  6:53am
fred von helsing:

How does it work if I want to split my donation between two shows? And how much longer does the pledge drive go on for? (I'm broke for another week and a half...)
  6:53am
cobra-dan:

fell asleep with WFMU on only to be woken up by Bob Seger WTF (unforgivable).
  6:54am
Dave B:

nudged....
  6:55am
Dave B:

@Cobra-dan - I thought Natalie Cole did "Unforgivable"
  6:55am
Meghan:

Fred, it goes until the end of the month. You can split it between as many shows as you want..... I think you do it through the main page....

Wakey Wakey Cobra Dan! hehe..... This is why WFMU is great. Cause you never know WHAT song will wake you up!
  6:55am
cobra-dan:

it is not funny to play mediocre music on the radio.
  6:57am
Meghan:

Oh Cobra-Dan..... you woke up on the wrong side of bed. And get over it.... it's a theme duh
  6:57am
Dave B:

"this is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps"
  6:59am
Meghan:

Isn't there a rule that you can't bitch unless you pledge?
  6:59am
Chuck:

Dig that crazy sax!
  7:04am
Dave B:

and THAT rule + ALL RUSH would get people pledging... I'm tellin ya!
  7:04am
Simon:

Who said this show was meant to be funny? I take it very seriously.
  7:04am
fred von helsing:

"Be a Pledge Bitch"
  7:07am
Simon:

Ditch the reverb, Do it in a pint glass Darth Vader stylee.
  7:09am
fred von helsing:

someone said the mayor of reykjavik is the guy who sang in the sugarcubes
  7:09am
Dave B:

@cobra-dan - any chance you were listing over the air?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8Y1xLKHECQ
  7:12am
Dave B:

mayor of reykjaviks politiacal party "the best party" was formed with one of the members of the 'cubes...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jón_Gnarr
  7:13am
Meghan:

That is kind of awesome.... or is that why they are in financial ruin...oh wait, so are we!
  7:14am
fred von helsing:

I saw the Sugarcubes in 87-ish, they wuz awesome. I like Björk's vocals better then..
  7:16am
Dave B:

... went over in '06 for the one time 30th anniversary reunion show.

Good times!
  7:18am
Dave B:

(Dave B has his fingers crossed for "China My China" by Eno, even though he failed to request or send any tunes this week.)
  7:18am
Meghan:

I saw the Sugarcubes twice. Once was with Public Image Lmt and New Order. Second time the Primitives opened up....
  7:21am
Simon:

I'm sitting here looking at my Primitives "Stop Killing Me" T-Shirt which I just dug out to do a Morrissey-alike for an 80s party this weekend.
  7:21am
Dave B:

oh, Meghan - even efd got on the RUSH bandwagon, sort of...

http://www.wfmu.org/flashplayer.php?version=2&show=42256&archive=72708&starttime=2:43:22
  7:21am
Simon:

It's not going to be pretty...
  7:22am
Simon:

It's not going to be pretty...
  7:22am
Simon:

That bloody echo agin.
  7:23am
Chuck:

Thinking ahead for next week. Made In Japan - Buck Owens and Discovering Japan - Graham Parker...
  7:24am
Dave B:

it was one of those pre-cog echoes that brought down Pre-Crime
  7:24am
Meghan:

Simon, I had a cute longsleeve Primitives t-shirt that looked like it was drawn in crayon.... but I have no clue where my old t-shirts got placed....
  7:26am
Meghan:

Almost halfway mark and you all aren't even close to half way on the pledges.... I guess I am going to win out on not having to play RUSH AGAIN! WOOHOO! Don't want me to win? Well i can promise you that if we make a 6K goal, I'll never even allow it to be offered again!
  7:27am
Dave B:

Mike Keneally and Beer For Dolphins - Live in Japan

and that's [liv] not [lahyv]
  7:28am
fred von helsing:

Hey tell us (on air ?) about your DJ pledge premium !
  7:29am
fred von helsing:

I predict that after this set we will be hungry for more in half an hour
  7:30am
Dave B:

I said "NO MSG!!!"

(Michael Schenker Group)
  7:31am
Meghan:

I can't talk about it on air...... My premium is the same as last time... BUT there is a new t-shirt designed by our very own Noah's Wife Jen! She has sold her paintings to the likes of Wes Anderson (and got to hang out and paint with him!)
  7:31am
Simon:

Tracey's voice was bloody awful live when I saw them. That T and a Cud (should have suggested o Only a Prawn In Whitby for the UK show..) are the only ones I had left. For next week - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c98qdFQF7sw
  7:32am
Elwyn:

Hey everyone!
  7:32am
Meghan:

Morning Elwyn! or shall I say Good Evening!
  7:33am
fred von helsing:

  7:33am
Chuck:

Ni Hao, Elwyn!
  7:34am

  7:35am
Chuck:

Don't think Meghan has the jowls for that one, DB. heheh....
  7:36am
Elwyn:

Thank goodness I got on the bus after India. A deadly curry can make this bus trip painful for everyone on board!
  7:36am
Meghan:

god I hope I don't!
  7:36am
fred von helsing:

我们的磁盘赛马是超神奇!
  7:36am
Meghan:

deadly curry..... that would be a great band name.....
  7:38am
Chuck:

Now you've got me thinking about dinner! Ummm, curry!
  7:39am
Simon:

Pint glass....
  7:39am
Chuck:

"A Skee Grows in Brooklyn"...
  7:39am
fred von helsing:

Skee ball! https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150109704378885.319930.583353884&type=1&l=7e156460c6
  7:40am
Elwyn:

I'd be worried of anything involving Evil Brady and something called U-stream.
  7:41am
Chuck:

That's what the pint glass is for, Elwyn. Ha!
  7:42am
Dave B:

In a discussion with some friends about a kid being "christian" and therefore not celebrating Halloween, a baptist minister friend of mine chimed in and said "the only thing satanic about halloween is tooth decay".

and then someone replied - "a good name for a band - "Satan's Cavity"
  7:43am
Parq:

Morning, Miss Meg and crew. The meetup sounds cool. What subways stop is that bar near?
  7:44am
fred von helsing:

"Satan's Cavities" should be an all-girl punk rock band
  7:44am
Elwyn:

For you Evil Brady: http://www.jesusween.com
  7:44am
Dave B:

nice one Elwyn...

I've got it where I can use the iPhone as a remote camera, and some other software for video mixing, so split screen capable...

Should be fun!
  7:46am
Meghan:

Parq- L Train to Bedford or Lorimer
Take the L Train to Bedford Avenue. Exit at Bedford and N. 7th Street. Walk South down Bedford (N. 7th, N. 6th, N. 5th). Turn left onto Grand Street and walk 3 blocks. Full Circle Bar is on your right.
  7:46am
Elwyn:

Are we having mango pudding instead of fruit cups because we are in China? :-)
  7:47am
Chuck:

Whoa! Jesusween is much scarier than Halloween!
  7:49am
Simon:

My company firewall tells me "Jesus Ween may inappropriate content which contravene's corporate guidelines"
  7:49am
Meghan:

gah! I agree Chuck! I'd much rather be a part of the picture to the left that that!
  7:49am
messika:

jesusween has real zombies!
  7:49am
mohawkdave!:

Morning all!
Late responses to earlier conversation....@ Cobra Dan: First, this is not the radio--it's the web. Second; I agree--Bob Seger is a horrible way to wake up! I have a shirt with the chorus from a Briefs song called "Silver Bullet". It's chorus goes "Kill Bob Seger Right Now"! {You might find that one in a theme about Guns or Weapons or Killing Rock Stars}. Third; This show is about variety. Love the variety; enjoy the variety. You may find something you might not care for, but you know-- you may well find something here that you'll love. Love the Under water Theme Park. Touch the Underwater Theme Park.
  7:50am
Meghan:

*giggle* morning Mohawkdave! Morning Dublin Messika!
  7:50am
Meghan:

I feel like Ween could have a lot of fun with Jesus-ween.....
  7:51am
Dave B:

@Messika: Zombie Jesus!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vdVwinoP18Y
  7:51am
PKNY:

Iggy "China Girl" > Bowie "China Girl"
  7:51am
Chuck:

Oh, how I love this song!!!
  7:52am
Meghan:

exactly PKNY..... the Bowie video scarred me....
  7:53am
fred von helsing:

If I was "feeling Jesusweenie" I wouldn't talk about it...
  7:53am
Meghan:

Okay, you all aren't even half way to making your goal! No Rush show to torture me with! I thought you all had it in you! Pledge! Pledge for the sake of bothering me!
  7:53am
Dave B:

the only thing "good" about the Bowie version was SRV's guitar solos
  7:54am
Elwyn:

I have failed my heritage by not sending in any songs for this theme... but I pledged another $50 to alleviate any guilt.

@Chuck: JesusWeen seems scarier than Hell. BTW, my scout trooper armour got posted yesterday. At least. Fingers crossed they didn't forget anything...
  7:54am
mohawkdave!:

Fred: You shouldn't refer to your own as "Jesus". Although you may shout that randomly!
  7:54am
Parq:

The National Lampoon once suggested that Elvis Costello is just Bruce Springsteen in a dumb suit, dopey glasses and a bad mood. Similarly, I sometimes think of Iggy as Bowie in the morning before he's had his coffee or showered.
  7:56am
Meghan:

ha! I love that image Parq..... cranky Iggy to dapper Bowie....

Wise choice Elwyn.... wash away your sins by pledging! The guilt goes away with pledges!
  7:56am
fred von helsing:

If we pledged do you think you could get Ken to come on your show briefly to say that Meghan's the best, to heck with the rest? (and then start to play Rush and then grab the tone arm and scratch the bejeezus out of it :)
  7:56am
Dave B:

TYPEWRITER SOLO!!!!!
  7:57am
Elwyn:

@Dave: Ha ha ha!
  7:58am
Meghan:

Fred- I am absolutely positive I could get Ken to do that!
  7:58am
Dave B:

this song needs more typewriter!!!!!
  8:00am
Meghan:

Dave, I think all songs need more typewriter solos..... there seems to be a lack of them
  8:01am
mohawkdave!:

SSSCREEEEEEAMIN' JAAAAAAYYYYYYYY!!! NIIIIIIICE! i used to play SJ on the jukebox at the Downtown Beirut.
  8:01am
Chuck:

But it has to be a manual typewriter! Electric ones just don't get it....
  8:02am
Parq:

Meghan, the Chinese Screamin' Jay was absolutely wonderful. I've gotta hear that sometime when I'm actually awake.
  8:03am
Dave B:

@Chuck - sounds like one of those MTV Unplugged shows
  8:03am
mohawkdave!:

Manual or Electric..........It's nice to get it. Wait. What are you talking about Chuck?
  8:04am
Meghan:

Anytime I get the chance to play Screamin' Jay.... I will! Love him!
  8:04am
Chuck:

Absolutely, Dave! I actually learned on a manual typewriter back in '78....
  8:06am
mohawkdave!:

@ Chuck. VERY Nice! =;)
  8:07am
Meghan:

We only have 55 minutes left people! Let's get this up to $1000! We need another $342.65
  8:07am
Dave B:

Leroy Anderson!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vuDMInQMYQ
  8:07am
mohawkdave!:

Say Chuck, We might well have the same model typewriter!
  8:07am
Chuck:

"Clack, clack, clackity-clack!"
  8:08am
mohawkdave!:

Yep, that's the one!
  8:09am
fred von helsing:

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
  8:10am
Meghan:

hehe.... I knew Fred and Chuck would be happy with this
  8:10am
Chuck:

Oh my Siouxsie!!!
  8:12am
fred von helsing:

siouxsie sioux <3
  8:12am
mohawkdave!:

This is a great show!! Perhaps we should visit China more often!
  8:13am
Josh RVA:

OK Meghan, the check is in the mail!
  8:13am
Dave B:

RUSH-A-HOME-A!
  8:13am
fred von helsing:

uh well which holidays DO have something to do with Rush ????
  8:15am
Elwyn:

Bowie always creeps everyone out!
  8:15am
PKNY:

@Meghan - if I remember correctly, "China Girl" was written by Iggy and Bowie, but Iggy's is the original version
  8:15am
fred von helsing:

hey that's a band name, Chick Korea
  8:17am
mohawkdave!:

On the air? Oops. Guess I didn't read/listen back far enough. I officially retract "First" from my original series of comments @ Cobra Dan. =; )
  8:18am
Meghan:

Thanks PKNY.....

Fred- luckily I don't think any are..... phew!

And Mohawk- I think we pissed Cobra-Dan off that he shut the radio off......
  8:20am
Chuck:

The Mongol hoards cometh!
  8:20am
Dave B:

I need to bring my trusty and crusty IBM Model M keyboard in to work. Nice and clickity!
  8:21am
mohawkdave!:

This might be scarier than Bowie!
  8:22am
Chuck:

Oh, and another groovy dinner idea! Mongolian Hot Pot! Nice on a chilly/rainy day! Ummmm...
  8:24am
mohawkdave!:

@ Meghan; figured so, but I must be thorough.
  8:27am
Meghan:

True Mohawk.... very true
  8:28am
Dave B:

CRAPOLA -

Shoulda suggested The Notorious MSG "Straight Outta Canton" for the China set...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoMVPoBw_rs
  8:30am
Chuck:

Samoa!
  8:31am
fred von helsing:

For Myanmar you could play a bunch of Burma Shave jingles (did they record jingles ??)
  8:31am
glenn:

did i hear FREE SKEEBALL??
  8:32am
Meghan:

FREE SKEE BALL!!!!
  8:32am
Chuck:

And see if you can find any songs about Guam, Meg! My platoon sargent at Ft. Carson was from Guam....
  8:33am
Meghan:

Come on people! Half hour left! That bar has not moved! Move it! Push it! go go go!!!!
  8:33am
mohawkdave!:

  8:34am

  8:34am
Meghan:

  8:34am

  8:40am

IMPOSSIBLE!
