Listener comments!

  5:39pm Maricôt:

I cannot believe he passed, so sad. :/
  5:40pm Doug Schulkind:

Much weeping in our house. His was a larger than life presence.
  5:43pm Leigh:

Hi Doug, sorry to see about your loss. I keep missing your show, being a student again is tough biz. I'll be catching up in archive land.
  5:44pm jessi:

So sorry you lost your kitty cat. If there is anything after mortal feline existence, I hope he is in a good place with cozy hideaways (like the one in the photo), nummy nums, and lots of love.
  5:45pm Doug Schulkind:

Hi Leigh. I am happy to know you're out there, live or Memorex!

Thank you Jessi. The old bird is peeing in the great litter box in the sky, missing it almost entirely, just like at home. (He had abysmal aim.)
  5:51pm øשl:

  5:52pm Doug Schulkind:

Wise øשl.
  5:58pm ndbob:

Evening Doug and everyone.. R.I.P. Mouse
  5:59pm Doug Schulkind:

Hello there, ndbob.
  6:00pm listener james from westwood:

terribly sorry to hear you've lost a friend. mouse was truly beautiful.
  6:01pm øשl:

here fer the duration to celebrate the larger than life of yer mouse + the great fancy feast in the sky
  6:04pm Doug Schulkind:

Thanks LJ from W. He was gorgeous, but never acted it.
  6:05pm Parq:

Condolences, Doug. We lost a pet in our family recently, too. It was my daughter's, and he died after a sudden onset of illness that kept her up for a whole harrowing night. I imagine that Lincoln must be pretty broken hearted now.
  6:05pm Parq:

Can't listen to the show coz I'm at work, but wanted to reach a hand out to you and your family on this sad occasion.
  6:05pm Maricôt:

that's the least flattering homage i've ever seen.
  6:08pm Doug Schulkind:

Thanks Parq. Tough indeed on Lincoln and us all. Too many harrowing days/nights in the past week. There is no small measure of relief now.
  6:08pm Carmichael:

Hiya Doug. I'll add to the chorus of condolences. Make sure to have a celebration of life when the time seems right; it'll lift everyone's spirits.
  6:09pm Holly in NC:

Oh Doug! I can't listen, but please know my thoughts are with you and your family. So very, very sorry. Our beloved beasties *do* take up so much more space than their size would indicate, don't they?

Good night, Mouse :-(
  6:09pm Doug Schulkind:

Great to hear from you, Carmichael.
  6:10pm listener james from westwood:

hopefully as the past week recedes, memories of the good times will come back to you all. for now, i'll bet mouse knew he was loved every day he was with y'all.
  6:13pm Doug Schulkind:

Oh hey Holly! Thanks for the holler.
  6:14pm Richard from Venezuela:

Greetings Doug and all the listeners.
  6:16pm Doug Schulkind:

Ahoy Richard. Glad you're sailing with us this evening.
  6:16pm Holly in NC:

I'm playing The Kinks' 'Phenomenal Cat' & the Cake Kitchen's 'Dogs & Cats' for you in my head, & I'm crying.
  6:20pm Doug Schulkind:

Maybe you should be a DJ, Holly (hint, hint).
  6:23pm ndbob:

nice set here Doug
  6:34pm leslie:

through your music, doug, mouse is still in the house.
  6:36pm Doug Schulkind:

In the house indeed.
  6:39pm listener james from westwood:

this set and that cat are gonna have me getting a feline companion of my own! only hitch is allergies; parents had to give away 2 cats when I was a kid and my allergies first appeared, so would hate to do that to another kitty.
  6:44pm øשl:

top tune here. happy to hear one of me fav uncle dave jams too. harry roy + his 'cat' club boys cant be far behind :) mouse would approve
  6:46pm Doug Schulkind:

Tell Harry Mouse was a helluva cat, but he was no pussy.
  6:48pm ndbob:

what a great song!
  6:49pm øשl:

:)
  6:54pm glenn:

i'm really sorry. when my cats die i'll be devastated.
  6:55pm Hugo:

So sorry to hear about that. Condolences from our Felis Domesticus Freiherr von Puzen.
  6:55pm Doug Schulkind:

Parrots and turtles make nice pets. They (often) frickin out-live you, you see.
  6:56pm Doug Schulkind:

Pet the Puzen for me, Hugo.
  7:05pm øשl:

superb set, as per uge. keep on the sunny side, dug
  7:05pm ndbob:

excellent tribute Doug
  7:07pm listener james from westwood:

my best wishes to your whole family, including mouse's cat brethren in the house.
  7:08pm Doug Schulkind:

Thank for letting me howl, Brothers and Sisters, or, as Lord Buckley would say, "Cats and Kitties."
  7:29pm Bec:

So sorry to hear about your loss, doug. I get the sense that he was the mightiest of mice.
  7:46pm leslie:

i can only hope when i depart that someone will compile such a fine set for me. a wonderful, spirited send-off for dear mouse.
  9:30am Van in Dallas:
