so, your are probably much more familiar with the hit version of "never gonna fall in love again" by Eric Carmen from the Raspberries. The orchestration on the Travolta version is almost a perfect match.

Having grown up in Toronto when winters were real winters I can tell you that flannel shirts were where it was it. We were wearing them decades before those Seattle "grunge" people were.
