I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Thought Quartet for the End of Time would have been nice following the Alain, but this Messiaen is wonderful, too. Thanks for your sublime taste, Bryce.

Good morning, Cacaphonites.
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:20pm pierre:

when i was a kid, that Dumbo scene freaked me out !
Now i totally suspect some kind of anti alcohol campaign… something like that.

  Fri. 9/9/11 12:29pm βrian:

I love it here in cacophonia. I just got off the night train from catatonia.
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:29pm BSI:

But seriously folks: It must be tricky to integrate the ondes martenot with the orchestra in a live setting: Recently saw the Nat'l Symphony do Turangalîla and the bloody thing was deflected straight at my part of the auditorium, so it was easily 600% louder vs. the orchestra than it should've been. ......

was kind of a bitter drag, ruined the vibe, man. .....BUT this recording is hugely better. mo'betta.

"chant d'amour" > let me tell you, this is OBVIOUS, it's a "chant d'amour", it's totally a "chant d'amour"

  Fri. 9/9/11 12:39pm βrian:

Hey! Wait a moment...Turanga Leela is also the name of the one-eyed-girl in Futurama!!!
Fri. 9/9/11 12:43pm Moon in June:

@bryce: HAHAHAHAHAAA...Nice Spanish!!!
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:43pm pierre:

@βrian : seems to me that you're good at it.
@ Bryce & everybody : stab is totally the love/hate way to kill people, right. I mean guns, and bombs are not for lovers, right ?
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:44pm pierre:

@ moon in June : omg, you are right :)
Fri. 9/9/11 12:44pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

depends on how much you love/hate
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:44pm Kevin:

stabbing is definitely for lovers
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:44pm bryce:

tsk, those harvard lampooners
Fri. 9/9/11 12:45pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

a nice choking would suffice in a pinch, though
Fri. 9/9/11 12:46pm Moon in June:

@ pierre: I've just remembered it... :)
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:46pm Freud:

Yes, the stab of love, interesting...
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:46pm BSI:

pillow-smothering is also a classic for lovers, is it not?
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:49pm pierre:

@ BSI : yeah you are right. Poison also strike me as a typical lover crime… in a less "in your face way"

@ Bryce : what is a "lampoon" ?
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:49pm pierre:

@ Freud : commenting on wfmu… even more interesting :)
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:51pm βrian:

lampoon => parodie
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:53pm pierre:

all right thanks for the vocabulary.
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:54pm Ike:

I nodded off on the PATH train as usual, but something was terribly amiss. My eyes jolted open and I screamed, for the horrifying, head-shaved visage of BRYCE was looming, nay TOWERING over me and its eyes were boring into my skull! So I said hi.
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:54pm Joe:

lampoon - lamp harpoon. It's a harpoon with a light on it. For the darkness of the sea.
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:54pm BSI:

Lampoon: powered spear-gun used to hunt prairie-dwelling wool-bearing animals?
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:55pm BSI:

too many hyphens?
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:55pm βrian:

Ah, I stand corrected. And one should never flush a lampoon.
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:55pm BSI:

gah, Joe beat me to it. Kinda.
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:55pm bryce:

i love humour, because it makes me laugh.
  Fri. 9/9/11 12:58pm βrian:

"The garden of the wine steward of death." I'm pretty sure that's right ...
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:00pm bryce:

it's true: i saw ike in situ.

and i can prove it.
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:06pm frak:

You mean the head of Ike mounted like a hunting trophy over the door at the Kennedy Center?? That was one hell of a safari..
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:22pm CSI-NY:

@bryce: You mean you have his DNA? He's definitely in our suspects database to run a match.
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:23pm CSI-NY:

Ike was sitting in his own situ on the train? Did it smell?
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:24pm CSI-NY:

And was his situ an olivey messyone?
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:26pm #K:

I heard the sound of various iterations of exclamation points I remembered it was Bryce when mumbling on the microphone
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:32pm Martha:

Another wonderful show as usual bryce-o - gotta get to that Messiaen this w/end -
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:36pm bryce:

  Fri. 9/9/11 1:46pm BDR:

How long does this Ken the Station Manager song go on?
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:48pm bryce:

till the fcc gets here
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:49pm BDR:

Oh, I like it. I just didn't know they made a song out of Ken's air-break monologues.
  Fri. 9/9/11 1:52pm dc pat:

crap, missed Messiaen...

  Fri. 9/9/11 2:13pm hamburger:

an outtake from the original "heads shoulders knees and toes" hmmmm?
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:14pm bryce:

oh look, i'm an audience.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:17pm Bill Shakespeare:

Bryce is making fun of the audience on the recording.
Audiences are the high-maintenance girlfriend in any performer's life. They're always either too much, or not enough.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:18pm Ike:

Holy Jesus on a pogo stick, that was a boring 401k meeting. And I don't think any of these funds are socially responsible either. We've got the Goldman Suchs Kitten-Eating Fund, the Fidelity (to Satan) Fund, the Things Go Better With Koch Bros. Fund... what do I do? Arrgh.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:19pm bryce:

wha?? i killed you....
Fri. 9/9/11 2:21pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

invest in a 4Ike instead
Fri. 9/9/11 2:22pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

(buy a nice meal, some new records, a high-class hooker, etc)
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:23pm CSI-NY:

Your DNA from Bryce was a match, Ike. We'll be cuffing you with our knee on your back by :57 past.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:23pm Ike:

Cuffing? Hot. So what did I do?
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:24pm CSI-NY:

Not the worst. You just enabled socially irresponsible hedgies to rape the world economy.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:27pm Goldman Sachs:

the best part of the kitten are it's hind legs, marinated with penguin fat
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:28pm CSI-NY:

You'll be cellmates with Waylon Smithers, we hear.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:30pm bryce:

too bad you didn't get khashoggi. he pulls the best chefs
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:31pm bartleby:

whoa, just tuned in-I was listening to that same Messiaen last night and fell asleep on my sofa and now it feels like my shoulder has been stolen and replaced by an exact duplicate, teleported from planet ouch.
I left work early with a "migraine" otherwise known as "if I don't send out resumes this afternoon I will drown myself in the men's room, in my own blood and someone will have to clean it up"
Fri. 9/9/11 2:32pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

that does merit a "whoa"
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:33pm Adnan:

Ike told me his mommy taught him never ever to play with guns, so I found someone else. He's missing some excellent Thai for lunch today. Even the guard is totally chowing down.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:39pm Ike:

So, CSI, you're prosecuting me for future crimes then? OK. Anything else fun coming up for me? Jaywalking tickets, restraining orders, divorces, moon-rock trafficking, mutant algae theft, topless bodies in headless bars?
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:39pm bartleby:

well I haven't had time to listen to Bryce for months now and then the one day I listen he's playing the same stuff I had on my stereo last night. I mean is there a quantitative criteria for "whoa?" Given the sheer number of things he might have been playing, if there were such a criteria I'd say it's been met.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:41pm CSI-NY:

C'mon, Ike, Smithers is kinda cute, dontcha think?
Fri. 9/9/11 2:42pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

couldn't agree more, dude, I was serial
Fri. 9/9/11 2:43pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

plus the whole drowning myself in my own blood in the men's room thing...whoa
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:46pm Koi:

I am not a carp!
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:47pm bryce:

  Fri. 9/9/11 2:47pm bryce:

  Fri. 9/9/11 2:50pm bryce:

who'd you drown?
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:50pm scallions:

no harm, no foul
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:51pm Booker:

Oh, is this a Green Onions cover, man? I dig.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:54pm bryce:

back in the green room with the sconce
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:54pm ms_a:

...my self that agreed to working there - the sensible self is off in another dimension with bartelby's shoulder...
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:54pm bryce:

Fri. 9/9/11 2:55pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

I'm really going to be sad when this ends
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:56pm bryce:

patriot week? me too
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:57pm Dinsdale:

If Ike's heads towers over ordinary mortals at the Kennedy Center, how very grand must Bryce's head be to tower over even Ike's?
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:57pm BSI:

I leave this place along for ONE MINUTE and come back to...... uh....
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:57pm Dinsdale:

um, Ike's head, singular.
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:58pm bryce:

my head is pretty bulbous
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:58pm bryce:

oh, look at the time!
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:59pm northguineahills:

superb set, Bryce!
  Fri. 9/9/11 2:59pm Time:

What choo lookin' at, punk.
Fri. 9/9/11 3:00pm Dead Corporate Eyes:

you're so eloquent when you want to be
  Thu. 10/20/11 7:04am from Quebec:

Dear Bryce: the Turangalîla was performed in Montreal at the new hall for the MSO on Sep 12-13 (it was fabulous). Just wondering if MSO knew that you were planning to feature this piece on your Sep 9 show when they programmed their concert (or vice versa). Great show as always - a faithful but always a bit behind archive listener
  Thu. 10/20/11 10:39pm Ike:

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
