Hi Monica - nice to have you back - vacation good?
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:06pm CB1:

Hola, Mo!

The wfmu homepage says there is no email there. Hope your comments list is working.

Love those Delta Boys.
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:06pm texas scott:

nice balam acab track!
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:06pm jbm:

I wonder if the Delta Rhythm Boys were becoming a big hit in Germany while the Comedian Harmonists were becoming a big hit in the US.

Welcome back after your storm-cation!
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:07pm trssh:

Sunday greetings,
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:09pm CB2:

TS, Oh, Why, Not?
Howdy Mo!
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:14pm monica:

so great to be back. thannks for tuning in davice, CB Uno, T'Scott. JBM, trssh, and CB Dos. Yeah. love that Delta Rhythm Boys track and am dying over that Balam Acab...
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:19pm jbm:

Hey, kids.

I recall that after the Great War, Brits encompassed the full range from decorated heroism to unspeakable horror, shame and mental breakdown by inquiring whether someone had had "a good war" or "a bad war".

Did you and yours (on the Eastern Seaboard of the US) have a good storm?
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:20pm Davice:

Absolutely, better than war. War leaves you with nothing. Storms leaves you soggy!
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:21pm CB1:

JBM - good storm in Poconos. So lucky. Just a few trees down and no power for 5 days.
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:21pm Davice:

I love the Claudine track . . . it's perfect for tonight!
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:24pm trssh:

  Sun. 9/4/11 7:48pm trssh:

At a party as the new kid at the new school - White rum and cokes. Still camouflaged as a 13 yr old amongst the 15s.
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:50pm trssh:

(Swiped a brother's crappy tasting beer from the fridge the year before after school one day, thinking, 'yeah, this'll taste good.')
  Sun. 9/4/11 7:50pm Listener Schned:

  Sun. 9/4/11 8:03pm annie:

well, we were advanced for our age.. and libertarians as parents didn't hurt
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:03pm trssh:

'Light' rum! Yeah. Can't remember the last time I ordered/bought it.. That's why it's good to drink terrible drinks when you're young. Rockaberry coolers and other stuff you'll never notice years later.
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:07pm annie:

ouch.. it always hurts when i hear "from whence" really like chalk on a blackboard
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:08pm CB1:

I have a vague memory of having whiskey rubbed on my gums when I had a loose tooth.
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:13pm diego:

hi love
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:14pm Doug S:

The name Sidney Armus leads me, stream of consciousness style, to Allan Arbus, husband of photog Diane Arbus. He played the shrink, Dr. Sidney Freedman on M*A*S*H. Thus Sidney & Arbus = Sidney Armus.

OK, it's been a slow day. Love LOVE L-O-V-E your show, Monica.
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:16pm david:

wow oddly this marine stuff has a little tuvan throat singing in it...

Sun. 9/4/11 8:19pm listener james from westwood:

nov. 10, 1988, sophomore year of college: 1st taste of booze, a wine cooler. that i can remember the date indicates i clearly didn't drink enough of them.
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:19pm CB1:

SO John Williams stole everything from the MArines!!
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:20pm annie:

  Sun. 9/4/11 8:21pm JohnEBGood:

Morris St , Hooch!, Downtown JC. Ray Kozar worked for a Ship Chandler that served tugs and ships in Upper New York Bay. Passed me some grain the boaters gave him. Have you seen juniors grades?
Sun. 9/4/11 8:23pm listener james from westwood:

  Sun. 9/4/11 8:43pm jelrod:

@ Doug + Monica, yes, I appreciate all sounds. The reason I asked is I HAVE to find that track. It's too deadly. I'm in love. LOVE I tell you!!!
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:44pm david:

bartles & jaymes or some equivalent was my first, I think. We found one unopened in the woods. Either that or some Sambuca and orange juice when my friends' parents weren't home.
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:44pm Marmalade kitty:

Marine Corps drill sergeants always make me laugh! They would love me..200 press ups every day ha!

  Sun. 9/4/11 8:51pm texas scott:

I'm gonna broadcast my 45th radio show this week. And part of the reason for doing so is a result of discovering WFMU and Monica's show.
She's not only my radio wife...she's a mentor,too.

True story.
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:51pm trssh:

Jungle juice -- for the parents who had a liquor selection -- it was the kids skimming a shot each and uh, mixing it altogether. Really awful.
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:53pm jelrod:

@ Schned - just erase everything after "html" which is usually ?_r=1&hp etc.. and reload the page. Voila, free reading.
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:53pm texas scott:

disregard my last comment.
i think it's the g&t s talking
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:55pm CB1:

Two days before my brother left for Vietnam my parents had his fiance's parent over for Xmas. Everyone got rip roaring drunk (except me - too young) My brother mixed a snifter with every licquor in the bar and puked his gut up on my Mom's new bedspread. My Dad danced with his future in law and they fellinto the Xmas tree and they all went down together. I simply watched in shock.

Thanks for a great show, Mo!

TS - Good luck on #45!
  Sun. 9/4/11 8:55pm Marmalade kitty:
