Re Dave's Computer: If it has a LCD screen, the backlight might be dead. Or there might be a problem with the power connections inside the laptop. I had pretty much the same problem a few years back.

runs the 100m & 200m, the other main character runs the 400m. it's more complicated than that, but that's close to it.

Samaritans are an ethnic and religious group in Israel that still exists. One of them helped Jesus once so hence the term "good Samaritan". It's not meant to say that all Samaritans were always helping everyone
