Listener comments!

  3:06pm
fred:

ALF rules!
Thanks for playing that track Woody, please join me in clamoring for a full-length follow-up.
  3:19pm
hubba:

Is the Dan Bodah premium still available with donation?
  3:22pm
Woody:

Hi Hubba, I think so but I can't give a definite answer. You can check in with our own Joe:
http://wfmu.org/email.php?id=235&return=%2F
  3:25pm
Dan McFakename:

I <3 Woody. Pleasant surprise tuning in this afternoon.
  3:26pm
Scott W:

Hey Hubba, yes for a $75 donation you can choose Dan B's excellent premium. email me or Joe offlist
  3:27pm
fred:

Anyone who wants to hear more of ALF's greatness -- and who wouldn't -- can get his latest EP here: http://tinyurl.com/3gyawon
All proceeds go to Second Harvest Japan, so you can get great music and help a good cause with one stone
  3:27pm
Woody:

Thanks Scott!

Also, my premium (just played "Aaaaaaaaahhhhh" off it) is still available! :)
  3:29pm
fred:

Hey Woody, feel free to delete my post if it's not appropriate. I thought it would be OK, because it's not for profit and anyway it's ALF.
  3:32pm
BSI:

Mohd Rafi! Behold!
  3:33pm
Glued..:

..I am, Dirty beaches & Rafi!
  3:34pm
Wild Neil:

Request? Bulgarian Folk Singers? Please?" Les Mysterie Bulguer"??
  3:36pm
Glued..:

Bulgarian would be nice
  3:43pm
Woody:

Will try for Bulgaria... subbing for Brian and some giant stacks of records here
  3:48pm
Wild Neil:

Woody- you are an excellent DJ, you know what you need to do! Thanks for trying!
  3:50pm
BSI:

Nice. I was gonna beg wretchedly for something vaguely Moroccan.
  3:51pm
EXW:

this is amazing
  3:52pm
fred:

Woody, are you coming back to a regular spot in the fall schedule? I hope you do so and will end up in a slot I can listen to.
Then again my European hours mean a poor time for you, so maybe I should wish you're back for others to enjoy.
  3:58pm
hubba:

BT is busier than a hare in spring time... He's in a trench, he's eating hot dogs, he's walking tight ropes... what a day.
  4:03pm
Woody:

Thanks Fred. Needed a bit of time off but I'm around. There's also a billion great DJs here, and a bajillion hours of archives too from all of us :)
  4:03pm
PAS Music:

I needed some Isaac. Except now I feel sexy at work. Weird.
  4:04pm
Woody:

It's so wrong, its rrrrrright.
  4:05pm
PAS Music:

'Sexy at Work' a new album by Weird AL
  4:08pm
fred:

The archives... Thing is I rarely hit them. I like the ride of not knowing what comes next. If you don't come back, I can at least look forward to the occasional fill-in. Anyway it's good to know you're still around
  4:12pm
John:

nice, nice playlist . v much enjoying.
  4:12pm
hubba:

This ist rad...
  4:14pm
hubba:

I agree wit fred... Just being held hostage is fun... if the playlist is available, it is easy to escape, and sometimes we all need a little, something.
  4:15pm
Woody:

Agree Hubba, it is why Pandora never caught on with a lot of us. Also I don't want to type in "beefheart" and hear a long beefheart-esque playlist
  4:15pm
hamburger:

aye - just tuned in - that chicken 80 song sounded really similar to something / in a good way - but I know I'll never know what exactly
  4:16pm
Woody:

hamburger, it was 1981 downtown NYC so could be a lot of things, maybe around 99 records (the label)
  4:17pm
hubba:

dude, that social climbers doesn't come out till Sept... cruel and unusual, thanks!

Another reason why Treason is WFMU's sir name...wtf?
  4:18pm
fred:

As I often say around here, I don't listen to the station to hear what I like, but to like what I hear. The difference is exactly what Pandora isn't even trying to get
  4:19pm
hubba:

When I hear Milk Music/The Men live... someone is getting beer poured on their head
  4:21pm
Ike:

Very very strongly agreed re: Pandora.
  4:21pm
fred:

I hope they're looking up, that would be a waste of perfectly good beer
  4:23pm
still b/p:

I there a "feelin' like the middle of an Isaac-Hayes-and his-lady sandwich" channel on Pandora?
  4:23pm
hubba:

if, indeed, it is good beer...
  4:25pm
hubba:

Max Tannone, soundcloud... G-funk Killer
  4:25pm
fred:

Now there's good beer and "late at night after a gig" beer. I'm much less demanding as to the later, and the situation seemed to fit the later situation.
  4:27pm
fred:

well, that was meant to read "description". Whatever anyway, I guess I need one (beer)
  4:29pm
hubba:

More than likely, as the situations unfolds from the beginning: Milk Music launches into a song, I look to my left, a non-drinker, look to my right, full cup of beer, in which i takes, and then start to pour on the most bro-freindly looking dude, so as to get maximum satisfaction from wasting a stranger's beer and provoking altercation... hopefully all parties involved "get it" and slam dancing commences.
  4:33pm
hubba:

Woody, that feeling you get, i get it all the time... I keep thinking alt rock revival, and I'm paying 85 bucks to see Billy Corgan, oh geeze, sweating, restlessness, whew, it was a bad dream... Foo Fighters, well, at least they don't sound like Sugar Ray or Smashmouth... or do they?
  4:33pm
Parq:

Hubba, you are now hired to organize my office's next winter holiday party.
  4:35pm
hubba:

Is this Rich from down the hall?
  4:35pm
fred:

Hmm, there must be some cultural subtlety I'm missing: assuming the non-drinking guy got in (ha!) and broke my death-grip on my beverage (ha²!), he would either be late to the slamming or get ganged up upon.
  4:36pm
hubba:

Interesting, these records are amazing... got some order... even more interesting is the Bloody Benders... What is the deal with this guy anyway?
  4:38pm
fred:

Parq, if that deal comes through, can I intern in your office around that time?
  4:39pm
hubba:

@fred - ha squared is the best! Sounds like you would stand your ground... I would then try and coax you into a shared shenanigan... "hey, I'll buy you another beer if we can pour it on this dude, yeah, that one, there.." if it takes too long for you to "go along with it" then I'm deviant and I'm now ashamed... it has to be a quick sell, you down fred, let's do this!
  4:40pm
hubba:

@Parq - I'm going to need roof access.
  4:42pm
PAS Music:

Wow I like this Parade Ground song. Where were they from?
  4:45pm
Woody:

Belgium
  4:48pm
hubba:

Brilliant use of the new stuff... I'm so stoked on this show!
  4:48pm
fred:

You overestimate me: my only martial art is running. But I somehow found my way into punk squats where I'm tolerated because I'm pals with some artist women in the local scene. I still know the rules, and an outsider wasting beer would be breaking the most sacred of them all.
Don't be ashamed dude, I'm just an old guy hanging around for no real reason
  4:49pm
hubba:

no, I am!
  4:57pm
fred:

@hubba: if you get to Paris, france in the future let me know, I could take you to some place that are not in your average guide books. Though they'll probably get evicted soon, they shall rise again!
  5:03pm
Woody:

fred, I had a gig at Les Instants Chavirés about a year ago... cool place!
  5:06pm
fred:

@woody: no way! that"s my number one hangout. Chances are I was there, I'm such a regular they get worried if I miss a gig there. What's your stage name?
  5:08pm
fred:

They once put "WFMU' as my middle name when sending me the program.
  5:09pm
Sean Daily:

Whoa, that Iron Maiden MP3 is telling me to kill my parents and worship Satan. Neat!
  5:09pm
PAS Music:

O my God! It's really satanic messages when converted to MP3! Go vinyl everyone or we are doomed!
  5:10pm
chris:

Sounds like we're listening to the song on an AT&T cell phone
  5:11pm
chris:

which may, in fact, have something to do with satanism
  5:12pm
D.Lactose:

Wow, that was amazing.
  5:13pm
fred:

I was there alright., there was also one guy from Talibam! and Christine Sehnaoui if I remember right. Too bad I didn't know your were with the station. I'm not a social person, but that would have been worth buying you a beer.
  5:18pm
Woody:

Funny, part of the deal was we had something of an infinite supply of like little 200ml bottles of Kronenbourg, so was doing ok :)

Right Matt Mottell who I took to Palais de Tokyo the next day...
  5:22pm
fred:

Will you be touring around here again? I didn't really get into your set for a while for some personal historical reason, and that's been nagging me ever since because I remember you stopping right when I was really getting into it.
  5:26pm
Woody:

Maybe next year... we'll see.
  5:26pm
Keilidh:

FRED! Ca Va!
  5:28pm
Keilidh:

Quoi de neuf?
  5:28pm
fred:

Woody, you have my email now, I beg you to let me know if you come nearby
  5:30pm
Jeff In Hawaii:

Aloha from Hawaii Woody! Sounds great this morning.
  5:31pm
Keili:

Hey Woody! Awesome show!
  5:32pm
Woody:

Thanks folks! Good timing Jeff, right after "Aloha Rock"!
  5:33pm
fred:

@Keilidh: Super si ça va pour toi. J'ai peut-être une idée pour le marathon l'année prochaine, mais c'est pas encore fait.
Am I overwhelwing your French yet?
  5:34pm
PAS Music:

Wow this is like Martin Denny on acid.
  5:35pm
Woody:

PAS, this IS Martin Denny! You must be on acid.
  5:36pm
PAS Music:

LOL. Nah just good coffee.
  5:42pm
Keili:

Cool! S'il vous plaît laissez-moi savoir ce que c'est quand vous avez une idée complète prête!
  5:45pm
Ike:

He is out demolishing condemned buildings. And building robot armies. And refereeing a scaffold-eating contest. And snorting crayons.
  5:46pm
Woody:

Ike wins!

Now go to bed
  5:50pm
Ike:

I tried, but I'm at work, so my boss wasn't happy.
  5:54pm
fred:

En français alors, c'est un livre de photos sur la scène expérimentale, mais le copain qui le fait cherche encore un plan pour l'éditer. Il y en aura au moins un pour toi mais si tu veux ça pourrait être bien pour lever des fonds pour WFMU.
  5:55pm
PAS Music:

Great show today. I am off into the big world. CHeers Woody
